As you suggest, the second line of the chorus of Burning My Bridges uses the first bit of this. I think it's very sad that the second version of Hamlet III (about autumn leaves) never came to anything, as what survives is a beautiful song fragment.
Benny was undoubtedly the musical engine behind Abba.
Hej Sandy...How did you manage to get in here without me seeing this. I'm sorry I missed you sweetie! We all know how you feel about Benny, so I should have expected a comment from you, Thank you.
Benny Andersson is a musical genius. He seems to get very little "visible" credit when it comes to ABBA, but I think that's just Benny. He's quiet and prefers to be out of the limelight!
Jim, I love this piece! It was just in one of your recent videos wasn't it? I know I just heard this song but not just the intramental version?? Or am I dreamning again!! Anyway I really like it a lot. I know I have this song too if I could just remember what album it is on!! Very nice!!
Thank you Dallas. You are right, this is the instrumental part of my video "Hamlet III (Parts 1&2). This particular track is from Benny's first solo album "Klinga Mina Klockor". Hamlet III (Parts 1&2), is on the box set "Thank You For The Music" Disc #4, on a track called "ABBA Undeleted".
Hey Alan, It's been awhile. This is my little attempt at a Benny tribute. You don't see or hear much about him, but without him where would they be? Thank you Alan.
First post went south and never showed up,trying again. Love the new pics, you obviously cracked the pic vault,Jim. I hear some strings in this,is it all accordian? Also have to wonder if our "square dance" is a close cousin to schottis.
The new pics still seem to show up Rob. Orsa Spelman plays the Fiddle on many of these songs. It's very possible that it's related to the square dance, according to Elin there's lots of spinning...I get dizzy just thinking about it! Thanks Rob.
Thanks Christine, you're a sweetheart for saying that. They all need their own special time here. While I do love Aggy, none of the others could have been replaced and still call themselves ABBA!
Anytime you want to dance Elin, I'm ready(as long as it a slow dance, nothing fast!)Is "Schottis" anything like the waltz? Yes..Benny Deserves this tribute very much.
Oh my goodness...I can't believe I still have the hots for Benny, but it's true, I do, I do, I do!
