I've said it before, who would have thought we would have ever heard him sing these songs again. What memories, but he was clearly always looking for something through his lyrics. I doubt that were his exact words. He was answering the question based on what is stated in the Quran. It is not as if he is threatening Rushdie himself. The punishment for blasphemy in Christianity is death too.....Why is everyone making a big deal about this. Just listen to the words of his music and enjoy. Above anything else Yusuf wants peace in the world. Can you say the same thing about Rushdie? he defamed the prophet of 1 billion muslims, he ought to know the consequences of that.

Thax for posting this. Saved me from buying the DVD. I loved this song, in the past. This version is a lot slower & a lot less in it's original intensity and feeling. This sounds like Cat Stevens doing a Disney version of this song. Not my cup of tea. Stevens should be on the piano doing this song. And what's with the sax? Stevens is a way better piano player than he is a guitar player also. And I refuse 2 use any Islamic referance , & I'm not meaning 2 insult anyone. His name is Cat Stevens!
