i need to add another comment to this page. this time saying that xterras rock. and that i took mine up "the front side" rim of the world highway up the mountain and was going 65 the whole time taking some insane corners. lifted the front inside wheel twice and slid thru 4 corners!! lol and the engine held its power and started instantly at 7800 feel above sea level, vs the 2500 i live at!!!! buy an xterra and love it. but dont say you "love your X" because that makes it awkward.

There is absolutely nothing impressive about this vehicle. It sounds as if it has the stock 4.0 with inexpensive intake and exhaust upgrades; not to mention the driver's awful throttle control and gear selection.

Yes, you may be right if you are comparing to a trophy truck. If you did not know, this is a 3100 "SHOWROOM STOCK" class. It has big exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. Motor is stock with minor ECU tweeking. We raced against Factory Ford and Factory Hummer and still finish 2nd for the season in 2007. We did this with 0 dollar support from Nissan. We are now moving to 7s, which allows a little more to be done. Like DeanB44 said "BACK UP YOUR MOUTH" or just "SHUT THE HELL UP".

I guess I'm just confused as to why one would choose the Xterra for this application; (not that I would choose one for ANY application). I'm a Tacoma man, myself. I'm from SC, so unfortunately I can't race you. If you're ever in SC, check out our miles of clay and sand roads--perfect for rally-ing. What speeds are you reaching?

In this video we still had the stock rear end and gearing. The gearing was way off but nobody made stuff for the Nissans. I now have a custom race rear end from Superior Axle & Gear; billet spool with 4.56 gears and race axles. I have it geared perfectly now. IriTrack has tracked us at 116mph on dirt. Personally I don't check our speeds. It is more of an endurance factor.

Custom shocks made by Fox. Coil over front springs and leaf springs in the rear. Other that shocks and springs it has stock suspension.

Air cleaner, pipe and headers. Motor is stock. This is a stock class so very few performance modifications are allowed.

I was wrong on the headers, they are stock. The pipe is 2"1/2 with a magnaflow muffler. Also someone emailed me about the tire size, they are 285-75-16.
