All his illustration work was ink and/or watercolor.

Rackham did do the occasional oil painting (mostly portraits)

Frequently illustrations are not recognised as art...such illustrators were mostly shunned by the rest of the "fine art" world..

Ik denk dat Pieck, en ook Marten Toonder, het werk van Rackham wel gekend hebben. Het zou me trouwens ook niets verbazen als Herge' daar de naam voor zijn album ''De schat van Scharlacken Rackham'' heeft weggehaald.
