  • GO BOMBERS!!!!!

  • the jumper clash is ridiculous

  • No one has EVER gone undefeated in a season, 2000 was the year to do it. For whatever reason, essendon's coaching staff decided it would be a good idea to fold against the dogs.

  • @bsteph95 no one ever chooses to lose a game, get real

  • @mashfan72 most premierships equal with carlton mate

  • Bombers are the best, forever the bombers!!

  • go dons!!

  • i love u essendon do us good this year

  • i think i'm in love with blake caracella that's how well he played in the 2000 season.

  • Our boys who havee to much skillll

  • Hardwick... to Bewick... Good times

  • how can u say shit teams...essendon 2000 is arguably one of the greatest sides ever

  • Shit game shit teams

  • ohhh i miss neitz

  • how many posessions did they get on that day??

  • ur kidding urself......bombers beat carlton 3 times that year!!!!!!

closest the bluess got was 24 points ;-)!!!

  • well if carlton were good enough....they wouldnt have been in that position on banking on other teams winning and losing to determine their fate!!!!!!

bottow line is carlton are shit!!!!!

  • hahaha, definitely have to agree there. TOP CALL!!

  • Essendon were simply the best in 2000. No one could have challenged them even the slightest bit.

  • I don't care for Essendon or Carlton, but that's rubbish.

After 1999, Essendon were never going to lose in 2000.

Their three finals: Thrashed North by 125, Carlton by like 10 goals, then Melbourne again by 10 goals.

I'm sorry. If Essendon really feared Carlton, then they would have curled up in a ball in the first week of the finals, pinned nappies on themselves and listened to nursery rhymes on Grand Final Day.

Everybody else feared Essendon in 2000.

  • Thats why I was referring to 2001 pal, not 2000. Essendon were never gonna lose in 2000, they tanked in round 22 2001.

  • @uraniumdeath Those days are over buddy.

  • Yep, no jive there Sherlock!

That would probably explain Essendon's almost wooden spoon around 2006...

  • no one would have beaten essendon

  • Go the BOMBERS were the BEST!!!!!

  • Hmm... i'm still not sure about Carlton. Not top 4 yet... backlines too weak at the moment. And only about 3 good forwards in Betts Fev and Waite. 5-8 for me not top 4 this year maybe in a couple.

  • Any chance you could torrent this game?

  • beat them 4 times in a row now:)

  • BOMBERS FOR EVER!!!

  • bombers 4 eva there is no better team 2009 ESSENDON

  • hahahaha jeff farmer, wife beater!

  • 16 premirships that a lot

  • did you post this to remind you that bombers were once a good team :P

  • ESS 19.21 (Barnard 4, Lloyd 4, Caracella 3, Hird 2, Alessio, Bewick, Blumfield, Long, Mercuri, Moorcroft) def MELB 11.9 (Farmer 3, Powell 3, Neitz 2, Robertson 2, Green)

  • We knew was gonna win this even before the first bounce!

  • hirdy and barnsey the best stories to come out of that year

  • I agree we will be back in 2009 go bombers

  • Best team ever, Best day ever Go the bomber we will be back in it in 2009

  • best game ever

  • Yeah dodoro Essendon was great then but now LMAO you were thunped by 108 points by the Saints last week. LOL so don't talk!

P.S Hirdy is my fav Bomber player, he is such a legend!!!!

  • what a team that was. unlucky in 99 tho

  • A Super Team we had in 2000

Should of still won in 1999 and 2001 i rekon, but it was not to be.

  • BOMBERS PREMIERS 2008 and 2009

They are the best team of all time to win premirships

  • It was a great time to be an essendon fan then and no matter how much people like bluebags try and downplay and taint it we bomber fans know just how great a season and team we had in 2000. Stick to discussing the Juddernaught and Gibbsy's 'exciting development' and spare us your negative bullshit.

  • carn the bombers!!

  • The most powerful team in the history of the sport.

  • If you don't include the Collingwood side that won four in a row, the Melbourne side that dominated the 1950s, the Hawthorn side from the late 80s, Carlton from 1995, the Brisbane side from 2001-03 and the Geelong side from last year and probaly the next two. Apart from that, they were "the most powerful team in the history of the sport".

  • great point

  • @mashfan72 Essendon are the most powerful team in AFL history. 16 Premierships, 21 game season, quality players, the most famous coach in AFL history. Watch "Essendon Bombers the greatest comeback ever" and you tell me that isn't dominance.

  • @MidgetmaniaRIP I think it's subjective to think that Essendon are the most powerful team in history. Two of Essendon's premierships were won without a formal grand final. Essendon aren't the only team to win 21 games in a season. And there are other coaches with more success than Sheedy. Furthermore it looks like it will be quite a few years before Essendon are top 4 material again.

  • @mashfan72 name 4 other great coaches

  • @jhardyrules13 Jock McHale, Ron Barassi, Tom Hafey and Norm Smith.

  • @mashfan72 ive only heard of ron and norm

  • @mashfan72 actually only one of our premierships was without a grand final, and that was the first, but that title of premiers is still deserving from that year as Essendon were the best team that year.

  • @mashfan72 The evidence you provided to back up your opening statement was weak, and irrelevant. Essendon destroyed everyone in 2000, like no other team has ever done in the history of this great game. Essendon will be extremely competitive in 2011, and we have a really good chance of beating Collingwood in the NAB cup final, a game that I shall attend, and view it from the wing seatige.

  • @holl01 First of all, they didn't win every game in 2000, so your first point that "essendon destroyed everyone in 2000" already sets back your argument.

Secondly, I was responding to the argument that Essendon of 2000 was the "most powerful team in the history of the sport" - which is clearly subjective. Collingwood in the 20's, Brisbane in the 00's, and Melbourne in the 50's were better over a longer period of time. Essendon did well for one year.

  • @mashfan72 No, Essendon did well for 3 years, Sayign they only performed well for 1 year is a weak biased view, we made the prelim in 99 and came within a wisker of reaching the grand final then, like we did in 2001, we had a 3 year blitz, refered to as the BOMBER BLITZ, which peake in 2000. the only game we lost to was Geelong, were the employed flooding tactics and lucked out, little wimps.

  • @holl01 belated reply to your comment but it was the dogs that beat us... but never mind we won the flag that year.

  • @mashfan72 . collingwood, melbourne and hawthorn played in eras where you could buy a team if you had the dough, carlton were so far over the cap it was funny, brisbane never finished top despite concession draft picks and a rule that allowed them to pay over the cap and geelong are playing in such a pissweak era where there are only 3 teams that can win it and teams can go from rebuilding to the granny in 6 months(the power 2007)

    THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!

  • @mashfan72 in general twat

  • it was a great year but dont you think thats a lil over the top?

What about the Australian criket team since fuckin 1980's?, Bradman's invincibles?, and we could talk about the greatest NFL teams as well...This is nithing compared to them.

  • Essendon are the best AFL team in history. If you want to check it out o and research, and dont say well we hav equal gf wins well we hav w0n plenty more game than you. And sorry that carlton cant win 28 ouyt of 29 games in a year. ESSENDON HAD THE BEST SEASON OUT OF ANY AFL TEAM IN HISTORY. ALONG WITH THE SECOND HIGHEST GRANDFINAL WIN.

    BANG!!!!!!!

  • if you're talking about the best AFL team in history for a single year, then I agree...but if you mean over a period of time, the you're so wrong..andwit the Margins, Essendon won by 60, here are higher wining margins:

96: Hawks beat Demons in 1988

85: Essendon beat Hawks in 1985

83: Hawks beat Essendon in 1983

81: Richmond over Collingwood in 1980

and there are four more so do your maths next time.

If you meant to say biggest second biggest margin in the AFL (since 1990), its still wrong.

  • wen was your last grandfinal win!!!!!!!

    shibang!!!!

  • yeeeeh lol change the subject when I wreck you...in case you didn't know it was 1995...which was the best season by a side since Essendon...ow when you said Essendon won 28 outa 29 games in a year, how that possible when the max games played in a yer is 25?

  • ok idiot

1st of all prseason games and yeah didnt you play well against us this year

    2 WINS to ESSENDON

    SHIBANG

lord hale judd hasnt he done wonderers 4 u this year

  • why the fuck do you keep changing the subject..AND...Preseason games do not include...you could ask any one, they're only premiership game...which means rounds 1-22 and including the finals...you dickhead..once again, Preseason games DO NOT include

  • I don't know how Bradman's invincibles went playing footy, but he said 'the sport' not 'sport', you stupid fuck. Bloody Carlton fans, always thinking that everything in the AFL has something to do with them. Get back down the ladder where you belong so you can get some more midfield 'guns' - however many you need to get back in the 8. As for the point, it's fair based on their dominance of 1 season.

  • that was a great match
