L'infinie subtilité rythmique des musiciens a faillie être masquée par le publique tapant lourdement sur les temps (2:32...) . Le tout s'est tu quelques instants après. Tant mieux pour nous !... Merci aux musiciens pour cet art divin !
what is wrong with Richard Bona...how can he be this Magical! this just brings tears of joy to my eyes...wish all this gaga and justin biebar could here this
What strikes me most about Mr.Bona's gift is the restraint. Like every great jazz musician, he understands the value of playing less than you can and the power this brings to solo as well as ensemble playing. Genius!
@jwirton The song is "O sen sen " on Richard's Album "Tiki" 2005. Those words mean "you ain't seen nothing" The language is "Douala" spoken in part of the western of coast of Cameroon- West Africa. Remember "Maama Sehh Maama Saahh Mama makossa"??? sung in Rihanna's "Don't stop the music " or Michael Jackson's "Wanna be star. smthg".??? It's the same language though the latters sing it without nothing what it is.Peace.
'Balakatun' morceau compose par l'accordeoniste Marc Berthoumieux interpretee a Radio-France avec Marc Berthoumieux, Stephane Vera (bat) ATN stadwick (keys) et reprise par Richard Bona dans son dernier album TIKI sous le titre 'O sen sen sen'
the song is called "balakatun" on the CD "les couleurs d' ici" It is an instrumental song from M. Berthoumieux. The text sung by Bona is unknown to me. I guess he made the text just on the musique of Berthoumieux, probably never recorded.
Excuse me. i just wanted to say that this original song from Marc Berthoumieux (on the cd "les couleurs d'ici") was called Balakatun and was covered later by R. Bona who made his own text on it.
This documentary is a travel over four continents pointing out the natural multicultural aspect of Richard Bona's personality and the universality of his music.
Special feature interviews with artists he has worked with; Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Manu Di Bango, Jacques Higelin, Sadao Watanabe, Mike Stern, Kazumi Watanabe and others.....
Waow, I owe this DVD but seeing it here again just fills my hart!!! The way this guy plays the accordion just makes you wanna review once prejudice about the instrument. Absolument delicous!!!!
