I am increasingly concerned about the amount of "average" material appearing on YouTube since its inception. This guy has been here for over a year now and its clear he's not going to "make it" (in his terms anyway). He's OK as a sort of busker and maybe his accent is attractive to locals but in reality he's arrived. It is brave, but not difficult, to pay for CDs to be made. The songs are ok but not brilliant. Also he appears to attract some amusing literary innovations, which is entertaining.

We think that Matthew and friends are really good. Their kind of folk rock is popular around these parts and you often hear phrases from their songs in the air when walking down Clegg's Lane. Many's the time when I've said "I'm feeling tired", only to have the paper boy sing out half a verse of "Slumberland" on Ladywell Avenue. When visitors ask for directions at the Armitage Avenue / Sneddon Street interchange, we always sing out "Which way are you going?", the opening line of "Insecurity".
