  • can knock a bus over 1 pull

  • This is how American's can still fight back if the Gov't ever takes our guns away. We'll just make our own! Sweet.

  • haha.... owned!!!!

  • Hey man, nice to see someone with the skill set to accomplish this. I'd like to tinker with building one of these myself. Very well done and kudos to you, sir.

  • What material was this, and is it single shot?

  • Thats a nice weapon right there. Are you an armorer?

  • 0:02

  • @amateurXninja

First of all its the wrong vid. I blocked comments on it because of people like you. If you actually care to look at the Glock site you'd learn that it is indeed model "G36". Before you spout off do some research first.

  • i gotta build me one of those... looks like the bill holmes design of the 50cal

  • It is with a few mods thrown in.

  • Vouch @ hpiownzilla01

  • i nkow more about guns than you do dumbass

  • Really? Where's the one you designed and made then? I can tell by the last comment you made you just know sooo much about weapons.

  • Oh really? If you know so much about guns you should start working on grammar and spelling.

  • @hpiownzilla01 you certainly showed how smart you are with commenting like a ten yr old

  • hahah thats not homemade ive seen those on the market everywhere, those are the only .50 cal gun you can hunt with in idaho besides a muzzleloader thats not homemade

  • You have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

  • @hpiownzilla01, so you think its impossible to by aftermarket parts to build your own .50? Youve never heard of a gunsmith or machine shops? Define home made? do you mean hand made steel hand forged hand rifled hand milled hand lapped hand finished? Got 150k? People build thier own weapons all the time, a friend owns a home made Gattling gun in 22mag. Why im telling you this i dont know, your reply will be pointless. Polish your knob a bit more talkbot. You smell.

    Smelly.

  • Good job,

How long did it take to make it ?

  • What's the weight of that thing?

  • 33 lbs

  • great job

  • your lucky you got the design right and it didnt explode in your face

  • Luck had nothing to do with it.

  • true, but if you got the design wrong or made some part too weak it could be major disaster considering the power of the bullet your firing

  • Well considering that I've done this before and I even had the foresight to testfire it remotely and then tear it down to magnaflux it for stress cracks I wasnt too worried.

  • i got respect for the people who know their firearm mechanics and take it a step further and apply common sense to the project. nice gun sir.

  • but it looks as though he screwed up on the recoil system. i though those guns had some sort of recoil reducer or some shit.

  • There is a recoil system. It's called a muzzle brake. It's on the end of the barrel.

  • @baconator490 these arnt just random rednecks that took a tube and put a .50 round in it.. They are skilled gunsmiths imo.

  • Have you made all the gun? The receiver also and the bolt also??

  • Yes on both questions.

  • Not bad! Is the gun accurate?

  • thats awesome! the original barrett .50 cal was homemade too

  • nice job ! but, i think that you have to use a better bipod ,this one looks a little bit " weak " , the stability and the accuracy of the rifle will be improved after this minor change .

  • Yep, the bipod is junk. A replacement is already in the works.

  • sweet nice job man looks nice too and you who made the comment about it being a barret barret is a gun company not a gun you ned to get off the cod4 game

  • amazing, it looked almost like a Barrett model.

  • thats a nice rifle you have there sir. I was looking into building one my self but some of the books I have checked out are kinda sketchy.

what kinda of steel did you machine the bolt and receiver from? Also where did you get the barrel and how do you ream the chamber?

  • That must be dangerous making or putting together a rifle made to shoot high calibre rounds.

  • It can be unless you know what you're doing. Just like anything else in life. Driving is dangerous if you don't know how. So is skydiving, diving, mountain biking etc...

  • wow you made that thing ? or modified it ?

  • That is one looong barrel, I gotta admit, for being home made. That is one hell of a gun. How much did it cost you to make it? You can hear the sonic boom a fifth of a second later, that's sick.

  • bullshit thats not homemade its a barrett

  • Have you ever saw a Barrett? Obviously not. What is it with people like you who think that unless you buy it the weapon it looks like crap? You know some of the parts you see everyday on a variety of machines. Yeah, I make some of those. Sheeesh... some people...

  • i agree .. definatly not homemade....read the discription, it says "a 50 caliber rifle i made in my spare time".....all this guy makes with his spare time, are lies.....

and i dident know you could be IN any kind of time.. what a dumb ass liar.. il believe it when i see a "how to" or "how it was done" video

  • Hey dumbass I don't remember seeing you there when I made it. I also wish I could tell who made a rifle from a grainy vid on the web. I'm sorry that it doens't look like something you'd build. Maybe if it looked like crap then you might believe me. Like I care anyway. FYI, there will be detailed pics of some of the components along with descpritions of mods I made on the design. I'll post a link and then you'll learn what I already know. You're an idiot.

  • wow..... the only think that ALMOST resembles is the old school single shot "anti-Tank" rifles and not closely, it looks NOTHING like a barrett. that is most definitely a home made rifle. I love when people know ONE BRAND and then throw it around every time they see 50 cal. GET INFORMED IF YOU ARE GOING TO COMMENT

  • wooow - thats unbelievable, 5stars ofc - great job, it doesnt look homemade but u answerd that already, really impressive

  • Wow, impressive!

  • I didn't make it at home. I work in a machine shop and I made it there but technically it is "home made" since I didn't buy it.

  • And you live in Boulder to? Thats awsome i live on the hill, where do you go to shoot is lefthand canyon back open yet?

  • Damn thats fucking sweet man, most peoples suck but yours is badass, was it pretty inexpensive to build man?

  • I have about $500 in material invested in it. Not sure how many hours though.

  • homemade? wow your good

  • I had state of the art equipment.

  • fucking nice. can you link me to the plans you used? youtube dont let you attach links in comments so you might have to pm me. thanks bro

  • Just do a web search on "Bill Holmes and 50 caliber".

  • wow man that's super awesome, i'm pretty sad about not having access to a machine shop, What stock did you put on the thing, did you cut your own? I'm absolutely going to have to get this book and build me one before the fuckers try to take that right away too.

  • nice build even thou it looks like it was fropm a parts kit with some custom parts

  • Well, just because it doesn't look like it came from a backyard garage doesn't mean I didn't make it.

  • woah, cool down man, I ment nothing bad by it. So what your saying is that you machined every part...well almost every part, drew out scale plans, and built a 50bmg, noie job man!!! especially since it

  • I used Bill Holmes plans and modified some parts. I machined everything except the rifling and the obvious parts like the scope and such.

  • "I´m socialdemocrat"

What the hell is a socialdemocrat? Socialism have nothing to do with democracy.

  • Is that weapon accuracy?

  • It shoots around 1" MOA.

  • that is sweet

  • Ok. How many centimeters is that?

  • A .50 cal is 12.7mm.

  • I dont know why so many people likes to messpolitics. I´mliberal or whatever and still think this monster is an incredible device. All guns are wonderfull toys, dont blame guns! blame bad boys.Good citizens have all the right toown anything if they dont harm others.Thatsfreedom al,about, by the way, I´m socialdemocrat and still love rifles.

  • Hmmm, you keep that kind of talk up and you have my respect liberal.

  • Now if only liberals could respect the 10th amendment we could be closer to the country that we once were.

  • can you post the list of parts you bought and made yourslef?

  • you made this rifle? can you tell us how and where you obtained parts? The ATF allows US (currently) to make a bolt action rifle for our own use.

  • The only part I obtained, except the scope and buttpad, is the barrel which I cut down from a M2 50BMG. Everything else I constructed. The law currently allows any individual to make any weapon that either isn't regulated as a NFA firearm or isn't already prohibited by your state. Obviously you must be able to own a weapon already ie: not a felon etc...

  • i know this is gonna sound silly, but hypothetically it is possible to have a personal automatic 50bmg rifle... so how come there aren't any in existence?

  • A semi auto or a full auto? Yes, you can own a semi auto unless your state has outlawed them. You can even construct your own semi auto like I said before if it's legal where you live. As for an auto you can own a registered machinegun. The M2 .50 BMG is the most common auto owned by private citizens in that caliber.

  • full auto. i'm aware of chris barrett's semi autos... If I have the money i can buy a browning m2 50 bmg, really? or is it just your state? I'm in ny, what state are you in?

  • You can buy one that's transferable but I'm sorry to tell you that NY prohibits people from owning one. You'd have to move to another state. After that you'd have to cough up around $20K for one. I'm in VA and NFA weapons are legal to own here.

  • yeah but i'm pretty sure the msrp on the browning m2 would be less than 20k. I mean, maybe if you had to like pay some fees or liability insurance on it; then it would cost that much? sounds kinda off, sure you didn't get ripped off real bad?

  • You can't buy a new one. You can only buy one registered before May of 1986. This limits their availability which skyrockets the price. You have 3 classifications of registered MGs. Fully transferable, pre '86, and post '86. Only fully transferable can be owned by people without a license. I do own a MG but not a M2. Here's a price list in case you doubt the expense of an MG. machinegunpriceguide(dot)com

  • hey man thanx for

    the info.

  • Excuse me,but why do you need a heavy machinegun!?!Are there any invaders where you live :)?

  • I don't remember him saying heed needed it first of all and second people here collect NFA for several reasons. They're fun to shoot and no one, not even panty ass liberals have argued that point. They're also a good investment. The M2 used to sell for $8K not long ago and now they're $15K. Pretty good returns don't ya think? I'm very glad I live in a country where I can work for what I want as well as what I need.

  • :) I envy you for this, really, and don't like the red or the liberals at all(in the matter of fact i hate and detest them) but don't you think a heavy machinegun is a little eccentric? As far as i know the bullets are quite expensive and where can it be shot? Not in the backyard for sure. Also such a monster will take a lot of place at home(i have some airguns, bows and crossbows and can't find a place for them, don't want to think of a 5 ft,100lb gun.Wish you well!

  • another things i might add, is you might now need this kind of gun, but there is a lot of people who dont need a car that goes over 100 mph or ones that go faster than 150 mph, but still having a car than can do that is what is special, and also using the cars ability every once in a while. Same goes for this scenario with a gun

  • we have the 2nd amnedmantand,it says he can!

    get over it.

  • Why do a lot of people need a car that tops out at 250 mph??....same reason just to have it.

I own a Howitzer Cannon.I have the money to buy it, if I could own a tank I would.

  • full auto. I am aware of chris barrett's semi autos. I though automatic weapons are illegal in the whole u.s.a? If I have the money I can buy a browning m2 50 bmg, for real? I'm in ny... what state are you in?

  • How you make the barrel rifling???

  • I didn't. The barrel is a machined down M2 machinegun barrel. Cutting barrel grooves and lands is something even most modern machine shops don't have equipment for.

  • Permits? We don't need no stinking permits!

  • nice work

  • m95 bullpup styled sniper rifle

  • mxwelch you disgust me. 40 pound 50 inch long rifles are the preferred weapons of criminals and gangbangers everywhere, which is why the state of Kalifornia, in its infinite wisdom, banned them. you should not post these videos, it will encourage more drive by shootings using this horrific weapon!

  • ROFL!!!! Excellent comment!!

  • gangbangers dont use sniper rifle u idiot they use uzis and sub macine guns and u misspelled california and u seriously think ppl r gona go on a killing spree just cuz they saw this vid?

thats just so stupid i dont even hav a reply to that remark

  • My young friend look up the word "sarcasm". p00pl0ord really doesn't believe what he wrote, he's making fun of anti-gunners and spelling California as Kalifornia suggests that communists are running it. Which I would agree with.

  • ok wel wat video result should i go 2 wen i look up sarcasm?

  • LOL, I meant the definition of the word not a video. He was insulting liberals with his comment, not hating on guns.

  • lol i was being sarcastic and im only 13 yrs old so idk wat liberals r...

    wat r they?

  • Bolt action, magazine fed?

  • Bolt action, single shot. My next one will be mag fed but at the time I couldn't find a mag for sale anywhere. Not to mention it's a lot more work making a mag well, a feed ramp etc...

  • Oh ok. Do you need a special permit to manufacture a weapon?

  • wwo that looks exactly like the real thing :O good job now can you make me one :D

  • It is the real thing. Do you really think it's a fake?

  • i dont remember saying its fake, im just saying i thought you made it from scratch but i guess not

  • Ok I understand what you meant now. I made everything except the rifling in the barrel and the scope.

  • I seen a guy on outdoor channel shoot a cape buffalo with a .50 cal sniper rifle using 600 or 650 gr bullets. It took 3 steps and fell over, no second shot was nedded.

  • How long is the barrel, and what grain bullet you shoot out of it.

  • The barrel is 31" long and the bullets are 690 grains.

  • That's impressive.

  • hey thats really sick I want to make my own using the same plans, is it easy or hard

and about how much does it cost to make one

  • If you're not a machinist then it will be impossible. If you are then it's not too bad. The materials including the chamber reamer rental and M2 barrel was around $400.

  • If you payed a machinist to do the mill work, how many hours would they need to put into it?

  • A good machinist could do all the mill work in about 15 hours and all the lathe work in about 10 hours. That's someone will all the right equipment and clear plans in front of them. After that you need to assemble it and part of that takes a welder. Not cheap to have someone else do it.

  • COOL! I NEED MAKE THAT GUN!!!

  • Too light to be accurate! But kudos to the home builder!

  • Actually it's 34 lbs and shoots around 1.5 MOA.

  • For all of you idiots saying this is a Barrett...Do you see the Barrett patented muzzle brake? NO Do you see a 10rd magazine? NO Talking crap to a guy who built his own rifle...I would shut up.

  • isnt this from a book that tell you how to make one

  • Yes, my comment below shows that.

  • homemade my ass this is the barret or M82 sniper rifle used as an anti light armor

  • Yes I made it and the Barrett has a magazine on the bottom. Do you see a magazine?

  • LOL go lie to some1 who doesnt know anything about this shit

  • Who are you talking to? If it's me then let me state again I made it. Look up "Bill Holmes and 50 caliber rifle". I used his plans.

  • well u dont know 2 much bout guns then cause Barrett is a specific brand not the name for the gun NOOB

  • Congrats. You play games.

  • where'd u get the sort of parts needed to construct a weapon of that magnitude?

  • I bought a spare M2 barrel and chopped if off, turned it down and threaded it. Most everything else I made.

  • thats awesome, i need to build one.

  • Is this as powerful as it looks? Or only the kick back?

    thnks for the video btw

  • It is. It's throwing a 700 grain bullet at 2900 feet per second. The muzzle energy is around 14,000 pounds. And, you're welcome.

  • holy crap

  • how much recoil do these things have?

  • Depends on weight of the rifle and how efficient the muzzle brake is. When you fire it it feels more like a shove than a kick. It's less painful than a lot of 12 gauge shotguns I've shot.

  • i think he shot master chief.....

  • LOL!! I would if he got in front of me as I'm NOT a Halo fan.

  • Now That'a Power!

  • are you a gunsmith/gun builder or is it just a hobby?

  • you actually built that? did you use spare parts or did you machine your own. id like to see another video showing the gun in detail. nice vid.

  • I machined just about all of it. Do a search of Bill Holmes .50 Caliber. I used his plans as a basis but ended up redesigning various parts for ease of manufacture, strength, and maint.

  • short and right to the point. GREAT video partially because of that

  • Very impressive, but I like your shooting table even better!

  • LOL!! I wish it were mine. It's a national forest range.

  • National forest range?? Ive never heard of one of those b4..

  • They're rare but they do exist.

  • Prescott National Forest has one I see.. I'm moving there so that is amazing to know

  • Americans and their weapons!

    They will never learn.

The scary thing is: They have children too!

Peace too you. I hope someday you will come right.

  • It's these weapons that you seem to despise so much that kept the world free from tyranny not that long ago in history. I'm sure you would have had it much better as a servant to Japan. Someday you'll understand that there are people who only understand one thing. Force. There are millions of legal uses of a firearms in America that save thousands of lives ever year. It's a shame that your kind would deprive them that chance.

  • I would defend myself if my family in danger.. Lucky we live in a country that is extremely peaceful and our goverment doesn't mingle in others people business. I lived 2 years in the USA and was so lucky to meet all this nice and interesting people but I felt that your government was trying to keep us dumb and pump us full o0f fear for everything.

  • Japan germany...thank you for that. Bless those pour souls who perished for the cause they believed in. But the world has changed . So small, everything is woven into eachother. I lived 2 years in your beautiful country. Met all these nice and interesting people.

  • but I had to go. I couldn't cope with your government and 95 % of the media's skilled efforts in trying to keep me as disinformed as possible. Not to mention the constant pumping of fear for everything into everyone.

I understand where all those gun owners are coming from. We all have to learn.

  • To imply that it's a scare tactic would mean that it doesn't happen. People actually are being killed and it happens the world over, not just in the U.S. Legal gun owners are the ones that have already learned. How would you defend yourself against an armed killer? Try to talk him out of it? Not likely to work.

  • how many wars do we need to learn?. Yes, I will defend myself of course..Since early mankind emerged he was constantly looking for a better club to kill. We are a deadly virus wearing shoes.I am extremely lucky to live in a safe country.

  • War has nothing to do with it. Criminals don't declare war when they rob, rape, and kill. I'm sorry you have such a loathing for your own species and there is no such thing as a safe country. Last I checked every country has crime. Even New Zealand. From 1998 to 2000 your country had 427,230 crimes that would permit the use of a firearm for self defense here.

  • Our only fear is that tourism is damaging my countries pristine enviroment. It must be very hard and extremely unpleasant for you to live in constant fear in your own country , in your everyday life. I hope that one day it will all work out for you and your family Be safe then :-)

  • Save the ecofreak stuff for another discussion. I don't live in fear at all. Why? Because I can defend myself if need be. You might feel safe but if trouble ever does come your way you can get back to me about how safe you feel then. If you're still around that is.

  • if you hate guns and violence so much, please tell me why you're watching videos of guns.

is it so you can spew you're insulting trash

about the human race all over the comments section? living things killing each other is a part of life. it was 15 billion years ago, and it will be for the rest of eternity. just get over it or kill yourself because nothing is going to change. there will always be war. there will always be violence, for good and bad reasons alike.

  • when crime breaks thru your door one night and robs your family of its innocence and takes from you what you love most, things that you would die for..you will realize then just how important it is to arm yourself for your own personal quality of life, dont be so foolish to think that evil will never lurk in your life. If you are so fortunate then god bless you. Let others be in there ways for they arent so fortunate as u

  • watmonki. grt comment. agreed

  • hmmmmmm looks like the real tihng (ps if u live in california ur screwed cuz it looks like the real thing

  • Ummm, yeah it's real and I don't live in Cali. I'd never live there in the peoples republick. FYI, if I did live there and had it before the ban I'd still be legal.

  • SICK..!!

  • Nice! a good skill to have.

  • Go to the ATF website if you don't believe me. I made the whole thing except the scope and buttpad. The barrel is a M2 barrel I machined down to make it work for the rifle. So technically the rifling was already done but the whole outside was turned down and threaded.

  • I'm a machinist.

  • damn, lol, illegal.

  • Nope. As long as you're legally able to posses a weapon, aren't making a machinegun or other regulated item, and you don't sell it, it's perfectly legal. I wouldn't have a video of it if it were illegal.

  • or would you??? no, probably not, but still, that thing is hot, so the whole thing is homemade or did you buy the barrel and trigger assembly seperatly?

  • Lol, I know your gonna laugh at this at first, but please dear god take me seriously. How much would you charge me to construct the components requiring the complex machining? I can get the barrel, etc from Numrich, I just dont have the knowledge or equipment to build it myself. If not, how much did it cost you to build this?very, very nice, Im so fuckin jealous.

  • It's more work than I want to take on now. The barrel is the most complex part because you have to thread it for the bolt receiver, receiver tube, and the muzzle brake. The receiver is a tube but it requires pretty accurate tolerances especially for the trigger housing and I can't make that legally. Without it done right it won't hit the broad side of a barn. Spend $3100 and get the Barrett single shot bolt action or a BFG .50 for about $2100. Both are great firearms.

  • really, How?
