@wilsocn Yes, you can walk in the fields (of course, no vehicles in the fields). Be sure to leave your car in one of the pulloffs and not in the road. I would also keep an eye out for snakes in the high grasses. Seems to me that would be a good place to run across one.
@GreatSmokyMountains Thanks for the reply and you're right about snakes. I walked off the trail on the way to Abram Falls and had a copperhead slither right next to my boot. It didnt seemed too concerned with me so I froze for a second and let it pass.
Are visitors allowed to leave the roads and walk freely in the cove (across fields, etc) to take photos?
