When I make a manual IP address and put it in my xbox it doesn't get picked up by my router or something because I cant connect to xbox live. Im having such a hastle trying to figure this out what do I do?
when on dns settings i then turned it to manual now it gives me the option to choose the primary or secondry dns server. what one will i choose?????????????
i dont even have anything in the automatic box... what should i do, it says "unplug your wireless router" so i did and i plugged it back in-still not working. it says i need an ip address... or a static ip address...please help.
ok i have a linkseys router and its 192.168.1.1 and my xbox used to pick that up it used to be the same thing but with a different number at the last one. ok well now somehow my xbox picked up a ip address that is something like 169.154.124.1 or something like that how come it did that and how can i fix it cause its not causing problems with connecting to my friends it wont let me just connect to XBL but it does sometimes can someone help me?

@CLERICCONOR You want to pick a IP that's just outside of your routers dynamic ip range so it will never give a device that IP. so if your range is 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.50 then you could give an IP if 192.168.1.51 or higher.

@pakfunistan go to automatic and make sure u write down the number for ALL the things the at the end of the ip adress only add 200 but just the ip not the others keep all the others the same

well ive been geting hacked by them using a programme called cain and able and it finds the ip of people in your game and then they used it to get on my pc so if i change the last digit in my ip will it stop them from getting it

Iluvmypom2014: to find your IP address get on your computer, click start and then click control panel off to the right. Click network settings then click on one of the folders that pop up next and click support. You will find it there.

Part 2 of my comment. I didn't mention that I have also open TCP port 53,80,3074 and UDP port 53,88,3074 aswell. Even though I got this xbox live warning command it looks like everything works fine. I succesfully logged in and I could play Black ops Multiplayer with no lagg (just tried one game but it looked great). Is it something wrong with my tweeks? Hello, I got some wierd things going on here! I've change my ip to manual and 192.168.0.159 and I've also changed the primary DNS to manual and 192.168.0.1. I can login and such but when I press check my xbox live connection and it has completed it says: You can connect to Xbox Live, but your current network configuration may limit your online experience. Select more info for a description of the problem and how you can fix it. I will post one more comment cause it's too long now!

EVERYONE needs to read warriors comment. i suppose i'll pass on the message.. for some people, like me.. when i manually change my ip address on my xbox i can't connect to live because it's telling me my DNS isn't working now. if you have that problem, try MANUALLY changing your DNS to primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4! worked for me. now i'm grabbing host and grabbing beers. woo!

I recently got a new router (cisco Linksys E2000) and a new wireless adapter for my 360. Now, i do know there are better routers out there, but thats what i got. My connection has been shitty ever since, it'll be good for a few hours then start to suck again. So i restart my router in hopes of makin it better. @thegkid4 yeah that's usually a port forwarding issue. Most of the time it's a combination of yours and theirs setup that makes it not work properly.

Iluvmypom2014: to find your IP address get on your computer, click start and then click control panel off to the right. Click network settings then click on one of the folders that pop up next and click support. You will find it there.

Yeah I have the same problem like leah9crystal9rose9, I really need help. I have the new one and I can't find the IP Address or the MAC as well and I looked, but youtube only has for the old version not the new.. :'(

i have the new xbox with the built in wi-fi and my xbox will not detect the router for shitt.. because a while back i was connected to it but then suddenly all my attached devices has been knocked off the network and now it wont connect ...idk what to do or how to fix it ...HELP!!! oh and i have a netgear with the push button router ...

Hey, I realy need som help here... Im using my PC to get network on my xbox... I have NextGenTel as router and i have open the ports that you have to open ... I stil have problems to sign in to xbox live and if it works then around 2 min playing online i've sign out again.. And i sign in again and the same happen but now after i sign in 2 times i cant sign in again before i reestart my Pc !? HELP PLEASE !?!?!

Part 2 of my comment. I didn't mention that I have also open TCP port 53,80,3074 and UDP port 53,88,3074 aswell. Even though I got this xbox live warning command it looks like everything works fine. I succesfully logged in and I could play Black ops Multiplayer with no lagg (just tried one game but it looked great). Is it something wrong with my tweeks? Shall I care or just don't care about this problem? Please answer! :)

Hello, I got some wierd things going on here! I've change my ip to manual and 192.168.0.159 and I've also changed the primary DNS to manual and 192.168.0.1. I can login and such but when I press check my xbox live connection and it has completed it says: You can connect to Xbox Live, but your current network configuration may limit your online experience. Select more info for a description of the problem and how you can fix it. I will post one more comment cause it's too long now!

Well basicly, a new router came in, and it was working fine, then it went of for about as week, so we have got a new router, and it connects to my laptop, but it doesnt connect to my brothers laptop, or my brothers and myselfs xbox, or our ipods.. whats wrong?

I did some research today after it kept saying this.
What I did was try to change the IP address but that failed.
Then I decided to try the DNS. You manually set the DNS codes to these: (They are for the google servers for all the consoles)
Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
Then try the connection test again and it should work.

EVERYONE needs to read warriors comment. i suppose i'll pass on the message.. for some people, like me.. when i manually change my ip address on my xbox i can't connect to live because it's telling me my DNS isn't working now. if you have that problem, try MANUALLY changing your DNS to primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4! worked for me. now i'm grabbing host and grabbing beers. woo!

@w4rr10r11 Would those DNS servers make your internet speed faster? i used Open DNS servers for about a year which made my online experience good with no lagg. a few days ago they stopped working...i'm back to my shitty slow internet connection.....

It says my wifi is connected and everything, but when i connect to xbox live, the test fails every time, and i just bought a 100$ wireless adapter, i have wireless internet at my house, my ps3 worked when i had it, but i dont know the problem, if my wifi works, why doesnt my xbox live connection work?

if you switch your router to Dynamic and switch UPnP on in the router .
then you can leave the xbox on DHCP.
i have it like that for years with my xbox 1

I recently got a new router (cisco Linksys E2000) and a new wireless adapter for my 360. Now, i do know there are better routers out there, but thats what i got. My connection has been shitty ever since, it'll be good for a few hours then start to suck again. So i restart my router in hopes of makin it better. It does, but then after a while it gets shitty again. I test my connnection and it says im well connected to the wireless network as well as the internet, but not Xbox Live. Cont'd

hey i i had my xox working for a year and them my computer broke so we got a new 1 and now i cant get on live any more.i have the Ethernet cord from my xbox going to the modem and its not working. i dot he test connection thing and i cant figure out how to get the mtu thing to change but i am not sure if it is the mtu or the ip address
