@beepollen1 They only did the one album together but it's one of my all-time favourite albums! They may not have liked each other, or it could simply have been that they realised they did not work well together musically.

@beepollen1 No he wasnt adopted by English parents silly. His parents were greek cypriots, and came from Cyprus to live in England with Mick when he was 3 years old.

Shame they didn't get along well, it was a fantastic album, one of the highlights of both their careers, IMHO. They're practically neighbors now, Mick's in Cyprus and Peter's in Turkey. Maybe we'll get a sequel when Mick's back on his feet!

@beepollen1 I regret and apologise for using 'moronic' but, while people are free to comment on image, hair, eyebrows, etc, as it is a video record of entertainment, I personally take a dim view of a predominance of comments on those aspects intead of the music. Also I've still heard no actual specifics on why people think Karn is a prat, except 'how he comes across in the music press', which as I'm wary of being influenced by.

@beepollen1 I'm not saying you're wrong but I prefer to not always believe the obvious when I don't know for sure. How do you think Japan developed their skill and talent from being completely untrained musicians in 1977 to how they could play in 1981 and developing their own distinct sound? It probably wasn't from watching other bands. Joy Division/New Order have commented same that it was by ignoring other groups that got them to the level they achieved.

Yeah never was crazy about Mick Karn seems very full of himself! What the hell is up with the whole shaved eyebrows thing? Peter should of done something with David Sylvain for sure that would of been something to see for sure! I have to admit I never liked Mick Karn not in Japan and not here either. He is very talented, but his overinflated ego just completely overshadows that and leaves me cold.

The postpunk era & early 80s was a great time for self-expression so why mock him for that, especially when both bands were well into image. As I said I only listen to his music, would be good to hear why he's disliked or is it just his image?

I kind of think it's strange you know his music but not the man, when I like a person or a group I get to know both aspects you get the whole picture that way not just part of it.

They're musicians, not popularity contestants. I don't like to judge an artist's personality via the music press, they put their own spin on everything.

I wasn't judging him on what the press has said I don't like him by what Mick himself has said and done. Funny you mention John Lydon I love him PIL is one of my favorite bands I also have his autobiography, that"s brilliant. I also love Henry Rollins I think he is a genius as well and another that's not exactly user friendly.
