  • Interesting mixture! Might give it a try. My face is crazy oily, I've used Milk of Magnesia on my face but haven't tried it on my lids. Right now I use the Mattify Ultra Powder as a primer all over my face and then the Mattify Eye Shadows because they have built in primers and last through the day.

  • Mix away!!! Lol

  • thankyou finally a primer for oily eyelids!

  • I just did this with products I allready had Milk of magnesia , an old matte concealer stick and moisturizer. My eyshadow came out better than with NYX HD primer not sure yet about creasing gotta wait a few hours but color pay off is great

and a more matte effect that looks much better on my aging lids. Thanks

  • my mom used to sell mary kay and still has products left so ill see if she has the mattifier :P thank you!! ^^

  • wat concealer did u use in this video???

  • Omg! Thanks sooooo much! I'mma try this tomorrow and see how it goes. I have really oily eyelids!:(

  • I really enjoyed this tut! Question: I use NYX Eyeshadow Base daily. I am oily, as well. The NYX holds my shadow ALL DAY! Is a primer, still neccessary with the base?

  • it works!!! I live in the caribbean and its sooo hot!!!! and my eye shadows stays!! Thank you soooo much!!

  • do you think i can add a little bit of bentonite clay to act as an oil block, since i don't have the oil mattifier. The reason I ask is because I recently bought Kiehls rare earth pore minimizing lotion, but it is expensive and they dont give you much, but they have a clay system that mattifies the skin. So could adding my own clay substitute?

  • perfect waaaaaaaaaw and easy thanks ★★★★★

  • so glad I found ur demonstration. not just for the primer being for oily lids...but MOSTLY for the way that you store the primer!!! wow

I mix 2 different colors concealers everytime I wear makeup, and the contact lens case is a great idea for me to store my personal mix.

    Thanks for sharing. u rock!

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. I SUBSCRIBED. PLEASE SUB A SISTA BACK.(lol)

  • I am going to try this A S A P :)

  • I love the way you speak girl <3

  • Your tutorial was AMAZING i can finally wear eyeliner and not have to worry about spending almost $25 dollars on a primer alone :D your amazing!

  • Can I use a little bit of powder instead of a mattifier?

  • God bless you, you're so adorable...going to try this...! TY!

  • the NYX is pronounced as "nicks"

  • Love your hair, I wish the fro would come back in style, always loved the look on men and women.

  • love mary kay!

  • I like that you included oil mattifiers, because I've followed other youtube videos for homemade eyeshadow primers, and they don't prevent my shadows from creasing. I like your formula a lot more.

  • lol OLI skin

  • Does this creasee ?

  • @KasaayyBabyy no, it doesn't crease at all! ive used the stuff i made everyday for about a week now and i love it. you should try it for sure!

  • thanks for the tutorial. it is so easy and really turn to very good result after using it. =)

  • can you make a contest where you already made eye primer but we can win it for the best eye primer made?

  • ARE AYE PRIMER AND EYESHADOW BASE THE SAME THING??? IM CONFUSSED, CUZ OTHERS SAY THAT CONCEALER ALSO WORKS AS A BASE/PRIMER =S SOOO CONFUSSED! PLEASE HELP =( !

  • @bag0204 PRIMER AND EYESHADOW BASE IS THE SAME THING, BUT IF YOU DONT HAVE A PRIMER YOU CAN USE A CONCEALER, BUT EYE PRIMER IS BETTER.

  • @lgshine27 thanx! :D

  • Thanks soo much 4 this vid. I was about to purchase an eyeshadow primer for 10 bucks, money saved!

I did a half and half mix of a cream concealer and liquid foundation and I used 2 drops of MOM as an oil mattifier, and ofcourse an oil control moisturizer.

    The results were awesome!

    Thanks!

  • question instead of using concealer can i replace that with foundation(liquid) instead to make this?

  • @inuyasha10617825 I have never used foundation while doing this, but if you try it please let me know how it turns out.

  • @NuBeauti yes, it works well for me when I use water base foundation and 2 shades lighter then my normal foundation.

  • heya babe.cud u please give me some idea of alternative eye control serum dat i cud add in d process to control the oily skin.

  • @riyalicious Just be sure to use an oil control moisturizer if you don't have any other oil control products available for your skin.

  • yay thank you !

  • Thaaaaank you! My skin is very oily and I need this. I'm tired of spending so much on that famous UD brand primer.

  • what was that thing you added with the moisturizer and foundation? I couldn't catch it.

  • @FavyEffBayyBehh Oil mattifier

  • what is that oil product you used? i couldnt understand u in your video

  • @hurleycutie142 Oil mattifier

  • Thank you!!! :D

  • will it still work if you don't use the oil mattitfier?

    thanks=)

  • @xxfresshhxx The oil mattifier only helps control the oil. It will still work but you will have less oil control so be sure to use an oil control moisturizer.

  • :L Omfg it works. :L

  • Contact lens case - ingenious! I have free samples of L'Oreal and DHC eye cream so I'm going to try those. Somewhere I read that you're supposed to put an equal proportion of moisturizer and concealer in the mix? Is that true?

  • if it's as liquid as it looks, you couls always use an empty and cleaned lip gloss tube to imitate Urban Decay's primer packaging

  • thank you so much for this because i wasn't about to buy a $20 primer. I can't believe it work thank you so much.

  • you know those cream eyeiners by loreal hip, the ones that suck? i emptied them and now i use the cases to store homemade primer and makeup remover

  • im going to give this a try but first i have some questions....what does the oil metafier do?? sorry i never heard of this...and also... what brand of oil control moisturizer do you use??

  • i think you mean oil mattifier... it mattifies your skin... like an oil control serum or such

  • Could you pls help me posting all ingredient ( product ) you using for this how to?

  • ur hair is awesome

  • hi thanks for having this tutorial...i love the way you talk, so cute...

  • Would it still blend easily?

    Sorry, I'm kinda new.

    :]

  • Thanks for this! Finally! A black woman doing these primer tips. Now I can see what I need to use in products for MY skin.

  • @OhYes1980 OMG YES! haha

  • omg! i have an extra contact lens case thingy and now i know what to use it for!!! yay! thanks so much!

  • omg thank u sooooooooooooo much u rock rock rock rock rock (ect lol) it works sooooooo well i also used vaseline as well omg i was shocked at howd awesome it turened o ut thank u soooooooooooooooo much!!!

  • OMG i made this and tried it today and it is awesome! soooo happy. I have SUPER DUPER oily skin and my shadow always creases. i put on the primer in the afternoon and 95% of my shadow is still there now. there is only a tiny not very noticable line of minor creasing. Thank you sooo much! yay, so happy :)

  • You are so welcome dear. I am glad that it worked for you. :)

  • I think you should mention that this is a good formula for oily skin in the description or title.... i was looking everywhere for a recipe for oily skin and i happened to just stumble on yours. Thanks for the tutorial!

  • You are so welcome! I will do that.

  • FINALLY A PERSON OF COLOR....no disrespect to any other race but I had needed to know what to use for oily skin....THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Thanks!!!:D

  • Wow, this is so cool. Girl you are so creative. There is a loreal eye color extender (I think that is what it's called) that works great. I tried it last week and it worked fine.

  • do you have to use moisturizer to make the primer because I don't have none of that can you get back with me about that thanx!!

  • So you don't use a moisturizer on you face? If so, then that's what you use. I just used the moisturizers that I use on my face after I clean it.

  • What kind of moisturizer can I use? Does it matter what kind or it has to be a certain one?

  • It does not matter what kind of moisturizer you use; as long as it is right for your skin type.
