What's the fuckin' point of making a demo of a tube amp at fuckin' LOW volume? Everybody knows that tube amps sounds way better at high volumes, I can even hear the picking on all guitarworld demos... Don't be a pussy, turn that volume up!!
A poor demo. Does not showcase the true versatility of this head at all. Simply blasting a Les Paul through everything does no justice to the voicing variations available. The little clip insert with the Strat was nice, but went nowhere.
I own a Transatlantic. Just like every other Mesa I have made the mistake of buying, it is completely undependable. Had mine for 1 week and it was right back to Mesa for repairs. I have owned 2 dual recs and 2 triple recs in the past that were just as equally bad with dependability. Not to mention the TA is still Mesa, so it has that "scooped" sound no matter what.
I own an Orange Rockerverb 50 (the older model) and its the BEST amp I have every had. WAy more versitile and dependable.

@doooder69 Just because your amp has features doesn't mean you can't play guitar. John Petrucci uses Mesa amps exclusively; for a while the most complex amp they had in their lineup (Roadking). Does this mean he can't play guitar? It's about choice and ease of use. It is a lot harder to get the sounds you want out of an amp that has less features. It's logistically impractical. You don't even own a Tiny Terror and you're telling people its more reliable than the TA. No one should listen to you.

This is an amazing amp... I have been looking for a great lunchbox amp with killer tones. I have narrowed my search down to this one and the Ignater Tweeker. I know the Mesa is more, but man the versatility of this amp is killer!
It's weird for me that Mesa/Boogie had the idea to develop the best and most versatile amplifier for practice and home use that users can choose instead of modeling digital amps yet forgot to put their trademark metal sound in it :O
Nice amp. Great demo. Basically I have Yellow Jackets in my 70W Bassman10. The description of this amp sounds as if there is a built in yellow jacket. Maybe, I should put a yellow jacket in my bedroom amp too!
love the shine on this guitar from all the polyurethane , although I hate gibsons mosty for the price and i find les paul shapes are unoriginal..but with the right stuff I'd have a blast playing this.

@ShubhamMishra1989 ESP LTD-EC 1000 is a nice guitar around your budget, some Ibanez Prestige would also be a nice alternative. But, you can play music from those bands with a lot of guitars. It's all about the amp (and your fx). I'd probably upgrade your amp if you haven't. Hope this helped.
@ShubhamMishra1989 Nirvana and green day uses a lot of Fenders Strats, and a Strat does well the job for avril lavigne, but if you wanna do Slipknot I think you need a good distortion pedal with that guitar, you have to go to the shop and try different guitars and see what fits better in your hands and sound the best to you, a guitar is a very personal thing..
@ShubhamMishra1989 I have An Ibanez Prestige 1570 and that is a very playable and versatile guitar, it should have no problems with playing Avril or Slipknot :)
@ShubhamMishra1989 You should get a fat strat (stratocaster with humbuckers in bridge, which ends to be one of the most versatile guitars), also look at sg's from gibson.. in that price range my choice would be a fender jaguar (the ones with humbuckers), killer sounds, killer looks, and the grunge attitude :) you should be able to play slipknot too with a good amp or some good pedals

@joeyrotten101 Absolutly. On the 25w setting, hooked up to a 12" cab, it would easily do a nightclub or other small to medium venue. If it's a larger venue, your going to be miced up to a PA, so volume is irrelivent.

@avenegedslaterfold If you use a decent OD pedal out front, it will do a credible metal sound on the Channel 2/Hi 2 setting.

amp isnt worth it i say. it's a little too harsh/nazel sounding compared to the night train. Also, it's atleast double the cost.

@MrKokss I looked it up and the MA-15 is the least expensive head that Mesa Boogie makes. They were probably just trying to advertise how affordable it is.

@tokyosan1 Sorry, not this time. I just got done spending two hours in my Guitar Center going thru all the features and running it hard thru all it's paces, and I gotta say, I'm not easily impressed, and this thing MORE than impressed. Normally I would agree it is a gimmik and waste of money, not this time. As a matter of fact, I put it on layaway till i can get up the cash to buy it.

@joeyrotten101 Absolutly. On the 25w setting, hooked up to a 12" cab, it would easily do a nightclub or other small to medium venue. If it's a larger venue, your going to be miced up to a PA, so volume is irrelivent.
