i always thought to myself why is hamegg fat in the movie when he is supposed to be skinny in the anime

why did they make him so fat

We could ask as well why they made Dr. Elefun smaller and in both cases I can just see some improvement. =)

...I guess it's because Hamegg and Elefun always had very round faces in the anime and manga that they've thought of making them proportionate in consequence.

This is such a great movie. Better than UP. Better than Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. They didn't grab me by the heartstrings the way this movie did. You guys who haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and see it. Excellence like this doesn't come along that often.

Well, I personally didn't find this movie nearly that good, but... yeah, It was better than average. When the action scenes happen, It's hard to just walk away. And when I first saw the 'Little Stinker' Robot, I was almost laughing cuz I new It was going to transform into something outragous or explode.

That 'Little Stinker' thing cracked me up when I first saw it - such a bizarre scene

also, he was a unique robot. other robots didnt care for humans, cuz they had to be maids. but he put his life in jeopardy to save humans.

the reason he built the half robot - half boy, is because his son toby died (in the begging) when he was doing this experiment thinggie and blew toby up and the only thing left was his hat so the dad took the piece of hair (dna) outta the hat and made an exact replica of toby(uploading all tobys memories in the robot, by the dna) but 'toby' wasnt supposed to find out he was a robot.. and its a long story, but he ends up at the serface, and got named astro. the movie is REALLY sad.. but amazing:)

in the manga toby gets in to a car accident so dr.tenma does make a robot that looks like him but he didnt upload tobys memories or anything he just made an exact replica,so he starts to learn but dr.tenma slowly realizes that he cant replace his son with a robot so he sell him to the circus owner hamegg and then dr.oshay (dr.elefun) sees astro there and becomes his foster parent

the movie sorta changed it,it was great though 10/10

Just incase anyone doesn't know, the voice of Astro Boy is Freddie Highmore, the guy who was Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate factory and he played WONDERFULLY in August Rush

Who never heard his voice in the 2003 anime dub, did you? Sounded like freakin' Naruto! Freddie's voice here isn't exactly what I expected but it's sure better than THAT!
