@joszher in real life he didn't want to do it (probably out of jealousy or tire of working on the series) so they worked his absence into the plot by making him "stuck in a time vortex" (the footage was of an unaired serial with Romana II).
@joszher Tom Baker in real life felt it was too soon after his initial run as the Doctor, so he opted out. In the world of the Doctor he was stuck in a time vortex.
@chocolatefountain95 They need to team up all the living Doctors for at least one episode. Say each of them are from an alternate universe where each of them never got the injury that caused them to regenerate. They all still had pretty much the same adventures,(Like Four & Five still faced the same Valeyard trial for example)
this would explain why theyre actually older. Each of them aged normally without having their particular accidents
You'd think Five should have seen this coming by now and have been ready for it. Considering he's seen this happen to him three times before. And that THree should have remembered it from Two and One's perspective. And Two should have remembered in from One's perspective so three of them should have been able to come up with a way to prevent Fives predicament before it happened
I mean in TIMECRASH Ten managed to avert a catastrophe becuase he saw himself do it when HE was in Five's place.
kind of dumb plot twist. real immortality would have been wiser script choice with DR's tricking the ring off his finger and destroying it and Mr god.
I think the title of Rassilon is passed on from President to President, that explains why the Doctor called the lord President it in the End of Time. It's sort of like a Ceaser. Not every emperor was called ceaser but it was just a title they gave to them.
@legodarknight101 no, otherwise Borusa would have been President Rassilon, the truth is, Rassilon was resurrected for the Time War, same as The Master
@TheHutchhickersGuide In the Three Doctors and the Five Doctors, #1 always did seem the wisest... or at least the only one his other selves would listen to.
"Then came along, Rassilon, with his ever present sense of right and wrong. He was strong, he was mighty, he was the founder of Time Lord society." -Chameleon Circuit
anyone else notice how the description says Ratalon? also how the effin donkey knockers did rassilon return if he is here in the death zone locked in eternal sleep
@OmegaShenron6574 Probably because the Timelords needed his leadership in the Time War, they would have resurrected him in the same way as the Master :)
It sounds like the first doctor is admitting to being the president's servant. Can't he tell Rassilon that the Prez shoudl have immortality without saying he is a servant?
Boy, you'd think the Fifth Doctor would have remembered being mind controlled from THREE different perspectives and have been well prepared to AVOID getting mentally pwned for a number of years beforehand.
I like how the old FASA RPG explained this kinda stuff..now I will try a crack at this. At this very moment, that this is happening, a new alternate timeline is being created...thus, only NOW when the 5th Doctor is experiencing this..is his past selfs remembering it. Up until now, they existed in a previous timeline w/o any knowledge of what is about to happen. Make sense? =\
As once summed-up perfectly by David Tennant in 'Blink' : "Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey"
excellent description and a brilliant way to mask the fact that the writers couldn't be bothered (or weren't clever enough) to come up with an explanation.
@notmyidea4 The thing is, time is in flux, so when all the Doctors meet, their memories are re written at exactly the same time as they experience this stuff.
How useful, there's an empty space on the bier for Borusa! Those faces always creep me out though, especially the eyes that literally follow you round the room.
That's right. Hartnell had died not too long after they did The Three Doctors in 1973. His place was taken by Richard Turnball, who, oddly, passed away not too long after The Five Doctors.
died in 1984 william hartnell died in 1975.he was very ill and had been in hospital for a long time.richard hurndall is nowhere near as good as william hartnell.
This from Wiki: William Hartnell passed away soon after, in 1975. In the 20th anniversary special The Five Doctors, the role of the First Doctor was played by Richard Hurndall.

Call me crazy, but I like Rassilon's orginal voice better. While this one sounds cool, it also sounds...strange. Like it doesn't really fit.

1:30 - shouldnt there have been an explosion when the elder Doctor touched his past counterpart?
On more than one occasion theyve stressed that a person must never make physical contact with themselves from another time.
The Brigadeer did so once and an explosion happened.

I don't think this applies to Time Lords.

If it were any old nobody I might pay it no mind, but the BBC should remember who RASSILON is.
Unless for some reason they decided that this was now the lesser Time Lord by the name of Ratalon, Rassilon's meaner cousin.
