@eringobrath1965 FYI This is R B Greave of "Take A Letter Maria" fame, he recorded under this name when he lived in the UK. Sam Cooke was his uncle and he was born on a US Airbase in Guyana to Afro American parents, so though his voice may sound it this is not a "blue eyed ballad". Brilliant though it unquestionably is ! Thanks so much for posting.

It was a toss up between this and the version by Jerry Butler...this just has the edge for me...the thee midnighters version is relly nice also
