Eastbourne is a dump. Good for tennis and the lofty Beachy Head cliffs. BH is superb spot to see the Red Arrows. They fly over it at tree height during the annual air show.

Anyway the Reds have usually always been multi-national, with pilots from all over the globe, so dont take it the wrong way.

i think they only fly a couple of years with the arrows, must be great while it lasts!! im sure someone can let me know that, is it 3 years max???

Yes a 3 year tour each. Only Red1 the leader must have been a Red Arrows pilot in the past. Every leader must have flown with them. Jas Hawker who is Red 1 here used to be the Synchro Leader ( Red 6 ) in 200-2002

In the 60's almost every fast jet RAF squadron had its own display formation. 2 of the most famous were the Red Pelicans and the Black Hawks. They were thinned down to have one display team for the entire RAF becoming the Red Arrows. There was also another squadron called the Yellow Jacks who used the Folland Gnat like the Red Arrows did. They were disbanded years before though.
