  • This song fits perfectly with Riverside Station. It's just that glowing haze the sunset gives and the orange sky. I never use a pipe to get to Poshley Heights, I use the train just to see this place again!

  • Doesn't this stage kinda remind you of the book Murder on the Orient Express, or is it just me?

  • @PKIvysaur I thought I was the only one who was reminded of that.... Maybe Nintendo based this chapter on that book, because they are VERY similar =D

  • I loved the Excess Express.

Best name ever, best chapter ever.

  • ahh...good times...

  • You know that toad by the gate he dosent get on the tarin so i wonder does he sleep inside the sation or something?

  • I remember humming to this..I kept humming even after the train left. At least..that was the story until I, of course, had to follow that little smorglet out of the back window. Bad idea.. D:

  • memories...

    :')

  • i really get the feeling the gamecube is starting to get a classic nostalgic console

  • @gam4freak1 That's so weird, I felt nostalgia when I saw the comment you wrote just now.. I saw it like 6 months ago when I was listening to this song constantly while just chilling outside in the sun. Ahh, the good times :)

  • @gam4freak1 The Gamecube to me is sort of a N64 with improved graphics. And we all know that the N64 is the best nostalgic console ever.

  • @jaybreezy133 :') you have taught me a new emoticon may i call you master from now on?

  • then try this:

    ^.^ or ~_~

  • i like the edition of bowser on super paper mario glad u can incinerat ur enimes which pretty much stole the show

  • This is the creepiest part of the game. What's not creepy about an abandoned train station in the middle of nowhere, swarming with alive cacti and other things?! If I was mario, i'd stay in the train!

  • It's weird, but Riverside Station is actually one of my favorite parts of this game. I do prefer the inside with no music, though.

  • @Klagmar Of course, Chapter 6 is one of the best chapters. Who woulda thought a 3 day train ride could be so enjoyable in a video game?

  • Gorgeous music...

    I absolutely love this game<3

  • Yes, I love this song! It's not even on the soundtrack from what I remember. Such a shame that this great theme is always so overlooked.

  • I wish they would make another paper mario game, but make it an RPG and have more chapters and more companions (Not too many).

And make it so we can have different types of companions (Not just a koopa, a bomb, a goomba and a ghost).

    They should have new types..

  • I'd hafta agree! however, I'm kind of tired of turn-based combat

  • like a sniffit for example?

  • can you upload the music that the train is invaded by those black fuzzy things?

  • In the beta version,Beldam & Doopliss are fought here.

  • enchanting

  • This place was sad

  • thousand year door is my fav in the paper mario series my least fav has got to be super... it's not a bad game it's just i liked the rpg style of the first and second. and all of them had awsome music!

  • mysterious...

  • This is kinda chilling and relaxing.

  • This is my favorite game of all time. I still play it.

  • you people give Super Paper Mario far less credit than it deserves, the gameplay wasnt too great ill give you that, but the story was amazing, and the music was as good as any of the paper mario games, dunno why theres a reason to truely hate it imo

  • Yea, I'll agree that the graphics, music, and story was quite good... but why take away the RPG element? Wasn't that one of the main reasons everyone loved the original one?

  • i believe it was more of a gimmick to experiment whether it would appeal more to the people, plus it was also a way to rekindle the old style of Mario games...the next game will either be, hopefully, and RPG again, or an at least improved platformer thats actually difficult and presents a challenge to us gamers, either way, id be happier with it

  • Could I interject? Thanks. Sure, both versions have their own distinctive charms, but most paper mario fans (such as yours truly) got the first two games because of the weird yet fun RPG/real time combat. When the new paper mario came out, we were all hoping for the same elements: distinctive partners with their own personalities and backstories (Bobbery's was heartbreaking), with a bit more depth, but still the same formula. What we got was a great game, but it wasn't paper mario.

  • hey, im a big paper mario fan too, and i want the old gameplay back just as much as anyone, and yes Bobbery's backstory was pretty well done making him one of the most well developed characters in TTYD, but are you suggesting that SPM had a bad story? Sorry if I misunderstood.

  • Nah. SPM had an okay story, although I really hated the pixls. They had literally no character. They have a little speech, and then it's over. No text, no story, only catch card information.

  • true, true, at least except for Tippi

  • Yes, but *ahem*, spoilers.......Yes, but Tippi wasn't a true pixl. She wasn't made of a deceased soul, she was made from a completely living, yet dying human girl.

  • huh, I thought all Pixls were...except Tippi was just more developed of a character, and relatively new

  • Nope. After beating the game, you can listen to the stories of a man in either the underwhere or overthere bar, talking about how the pixls are reincarnated souls and whatnot. You can either pay the 135 coins neccesary to hear the whole story, or read it on the super mario wiki.

  • you mean flipside and flopside, and yes I've seen the stories, hehe

  • No, I mean the bars in flipside and flopside, which are called The underwhere and the overthere. Didn't you read the signs in front of them?

  • lol, no I didnt, you got me there :P

  • Hehe, neither did I. I found out on an internet forum speaking on how to get to the arcade. It took me a bit to figure out what the crap they were talking about.

  • isnt underwhere and over there hell and heaven?

  • The mario version, yes. But in Flipside and flopside, there are also two bars, called The Overthere and The Underwhere.

  • actually paper mario has so much appeals whether or not its an RPG. Lovable characters interesting story great concept. It really has amazing charm regardless, thats why even though they made a platformer it was still great and people loved it

  • I love this song!!!

    Best GC-Game ever!!!

    Paper Mario is the best!!

Word can not describe this amazing game!! Great music and excitingments!!

  • *click*

this video has been added to your favorites

paper mario is so good, when will they make the third one... don't you dare tell me that super paper mario was part of the paper mario game saga

  • ha ha!!! oh I couldn't agree with you more on this!!! Well to the best of my knowledge, an interview in Nintendo Power Magazine with the makers of Paper Mario series said to expect more surprises......something new. ( I guess there gonna continue this super paper mario bullshit because it doesn't really sound like they want to go back to the whole RPG concept. But hey! who knows.........after all this is Nintendo so anything can happen! Good or Bad!!!)

  • if they make another super paper mario or whatever the hell that shit was, i think i'll vomit all over the floor, the first two were so good - why did they change the game? why?

  • I honestly don't know why they changed it. All I know is that if they make another one (which they should from what I know) then luckily it will be an RPG. Why? because they sold a lot of copies of Paper Mario TTYD, but from what I know Super Paper had not to great of sales probably because people did not like it. Luckily they will probably relize this and think "we gotta go back to RPG....it just worked out better." Or at least SOMETHING like that if im right.

  • @PaperJack64 "(..) but from what I know Super Paper had not to great of sales probably because people did not like it." Ironically, SPM was the highest selling Paper Mario game.

  • @64SuperNintendo What?! That cant be true, didnt paper mario 1 and 2 sell great?

  • @lakjoel Of course they did, but SPM just happened to sell more copies. Look it up if you don't believe me.

  • yeah super paper mario i thought would be fun but had a total different story not 7 stars but like 8 hearts i agree super paper mario sucked i hope they make one like the gc version again

  • Love this song, one of my favourite in this paper mario.

  • I'll never forget the first time I heard this

peaceful song! I even stopped playing just to hear it! 5/5

  • they did such a good job on the music for this game. I really loved this music, the boggly tree music, the woods ambient noise, and the 3 sisters theme music. love it all!

  • i never stopped to appreciate this song, because i hated the place so much.

i just wanted to get to poshley heights. but it was a fun riddle :P

  • The train station was creepy. the song makes you think there's something strange and hidden about the place.

  • Agreed. I love how the creators of the game made some places especially creepy, such as the Palace of Shadow, Riverside Station, Creepy Steeple, etc.

  • i thought i was the only who noticed the nice sunset and the music that fits perfectly, this is why its my favorite chapter in the game

  • agreed!

  • The Don Henley song 'Sunset Grill' Reminds me of this part for more than one reason. It's just lame that once you beat it this area's blocked off.

  • great song and i luved the sunset in the back.

  • What's funny is that there's no river.

  • i think it dried up.

  • this was the creepiest place next to the glitz pits idk why. The atmostphere is just so weird, imo.

  • didn't you think Twilight Town was creepy?

  • twilight town wasnt as scary because when you first get there you get the idea that the town is cursed and all you had to do was lift the curse from the town. the inside of riverside station was creepy because there was no music and the place was just abandoned. The glitz pitz was creey because of all the "myths" of people disappearing and whatnot.

  • i love the bit where you go in the building and then you go out onto some pathway and there's a huge beautiful sunset in the distance <3 i want to see something like that in real life! LOL

  • i love this song sooo much!! i'm truly in love with this game and i'm really sad i finished it. ahhh good memories :)

  • About 1:12 Is the start of my fave part.

  • Sorry, I overposted way too many times. Please excuse the mess. :)

  • I think it was all worth it. I did not have simplicity in my life. I see my life flash before me, and I regret things I never got to do, people I never got to tell things to, places I never went with my family, all before my life was torn apart.

And I, a person never to take risks, regret that I never was truly happy.

And that is how I ended up here, in this abandoned train station, the only person in my world, the wind running around me, with this unforgiving sunset behind me. I am at my end.

  • This song really makes me explore my feelings.

I feel like I am sitting outside an old, abandoned train station. I am cold, lonely, and sad. There is an enormous sunset behind me. I reflect upon my short-lived life, remembering all of the adventures I had with friends, fights with enemies, and the tough lifestyle I went through.

I remember some kids who had easy lives, and will continue living that way, sharing happiness and simplicity with their families. I remember the hardships I braved.

  • qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq

  • This song makes me feel a feeling of regret and sorrow.

I picture myself, cold, lonely, and with no place left to go, walking around a massive train station, with an enormous sunset behind me.

I think of all the fortunate people to have a home, a great life, and happiness, who share it with other people. And my life flashes before me, a person who never took chances, someone who had a hard life, and regrets all of the things that I should've done. This song makes me feel lonely and saddened

  • I feel a hidden pain with this song.

I imagine myself cold, hungry, and alone, crossing the world, drifting from place to place, searching for a home. I see myself outside an abandoned train station, in the cold winter air, with an overpowering sunset behind me. I see my life before this sorrow pass behind me. I regret the path I have taken. It has led me to a dead end.

This song makes me explore deep inside my mind, accepting things that go wrong, and regretting chances I shoud've taken.

  • I am at peace when I hear this music.

I picture myself, alone, with no place left to go, walking along a cold train station, barren and abandoned, with a magnificent sunset behind me. I see my life before this emptiness, and regret this. This song makes me feel alone, and at peace with the world.

  • YouTube needs more people like you. It's a great break from "Zomg ur vid is teh sux!".

  • I absolutely love this chapter, the Paper Mario series deserves more like it. :D

  • Posibly my favourite part in that game. Awesome.

  • i dont remember there being music here? lol. I thought this place was the creepiest as you go deeper inside the abandoned station. I thought it had no music making it even creepier.

  • Nice relaxing music. :)

  • I think the whole chapter was pretty relaxing, the music on the train and at the riverside station were pretty calming, i fell alseep playing that part. Until peace is broken by the Smorg Miasma, but overall this was my favorite chapter

  • riverside station was fun, it is the best station ever, it would be a great hiding base =)

  • It sounds really nice and you can relax perfect to this music.
