I was in love this song before I met my husband, when I met him, I longed for all of those years...we made it to 27 and we had our ups and downs but mostly we were happy. I miss him. RIP Jimmie, your Bettie Baby.
JUST MISSED!!! "5-10-15-20-25-30 Years Of Love" just missed making the Billboard's Hot Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 15 weeks in the Hot Top 100 in 1970!!!
@audioproducer88 I had the book "Top R&B/Hip-Hop Singles 1942-2004" by Joel Whitburn; loaned it out and never got it back. It's available on Amazon.com, maybe one day I'll spring for another copy...
had the single back in my DJ days 69/70 this and the invitations " they say the girls crazy" used to play them in a club in ilford (uk) called the "el grotto, memories
lasting forever...we played this at our 35th anniversary. Been thru it all, college... the women..,dope..,then coke..,then both of us on crack,..busted...homeless,..kids staying here and there,..getting it back together a little at a time,..a small apt,..then.moving back to the house,..good money coming in,..the grandchildren...everyone here on Sundays...lasting forever
I could relive this part of my life very easily! I was so lucky to grow up with this music. Boy the memories and the boyfriends in High School! Franklin High-Stockton, Ca.....
In 1970 i was 10 yrs old, and remember bringing up in harlem we heard this song at many parites where we were not allowed to hang out in the living room, we had to stay in the backbedrooms, but when songs like this were playing we would "peek" and see the adults slow grinding, (wow) well I thank the "presidents" for this song, it reminds me so much of growing up and music was just so beautiful then, TOTAL respect for each other for 5-10-15-20-25-30 yrs of excellent music of music back then
i love this song, i been looking for this song for ages, i forgot who sings this song, but i remember this title of this song, it brings so much memories, what this songs still have beautiful harmony, it still sounds like yesterday, thank you UTube.
When these guys recorded this song, they were probably in their 20s or very early 30s so there's really no way they could've given a woman 30 years of love. 5-10 years, maybe. But 30 years? It's not possible if you're barely 30 yourself. LOL Great song though.
@vidform i think these guys were probably much older then in their 20's-if you look at the picture in the album cover thier could have been almost 40 -so 30 years ago would make then 10 years old-and the song says "look at the little kids playing and having fun-that reminds of us when we were young 30 years ago
It's been 30 years of Love. Thanks for every moment of knowing and lovin' you girl.................and you still got my back. Here are your flowers. Enjoy.
THANKS FOR THE POSTING...MY BROTHER WAS BORN THE YEAR THIS CAME OUT...TODAY HE IS 41....WHAT GREAT MEMORIES..THANKS FOR POSTING THIS...I PUT IN IN MY PLAYLIST...
Man I was in the Air Force stationed in DC when I first heard these guys.....They all came out of Annacostia, South East DC and could sing their A... off. When I left DC I went to Thailand and took this and a lot of other songs with me, but this became my theme song. Thanks for all of the great memories....
Somebody has great taste in music! I havent heard this song since I was a kid back in the 1970's. This song has stuck to head after all these years and i cant believe I found it on youtube. Thanks for the memories.
north philly on sunday nights listing to harvey holliday on wdas fm with the red light in the cellars hitting the left handed ciggs and the real ladies sitting on your lap god why do we ever have to grow up the woman of today dont understand when a man loves them today if a man is in love they consider him weak
@jclutchman17 I agree with you wholeheartedly. It's sad that some girls consider a man's love for them weakness. I say girls because real women know what's up.
I was thinking of this song today and this is the first time that I've heard it in a long time. I think that this was in the late 60's or early 70's. I remember listening to this song on a soul radio station 1540 WABQ in Cleveland, Ohio when I lived there.
@bevels58 I was in Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base when I heard this song being played I was in the barber shop. We were waiting to get the " special basic training trim". The part of the song where they sing "arn't we happy" , I remember a couple of us hearing that and just looking at each other, yeah, happy alright...
Luv this, diggin the bass.

This was an under-rated tune back in
the day, (very similar to "Motherlode's":
WHEN I DIE [1969]. The last time I heard
this song-over the air-was on AM 1420:
KSTN: Stockton, California in February, 2002. Oldies stations in America play
their regimented play-lists and wonderful
groups-such as the PRESIDENTS-get lost in the shuffle. Thank you for an excellent posting of a fine song that should never be forgotten-
