  • one thing about lars, is that you can tell its him behind the drums, without even seeing him. he may not be the best and he may get alot of shit for his live performances, but hes definitely original and contributes in a huge way to metallicas sound.

  • If you guys want this track you can email him at masterofseans@yahoo.com he will give it to you. He gave it to me atleast. He has other tracks too from Met.

  • yeah plz i want those for practice

  • i wish i could get my hands on this track so i could put my guitars over it

  • Lars, he improves himself anytime he wants.

    Kill 'Em All - Badass

Ride The Lightning - His crashes sounded as lightnings (more toms)

    Master Of Puppets - Master

AJFA - Many critics say it's his best work

Black - More single, slower but still kick ass

St Anger - Not his best sounding but very agressive playing

Death Magnetic - Overwhelming as the earlier albums

  • @SuperBrictson what about Load and Reload?

  • @metallicaandkornrock mmmm, just heard few songs like Fuel, Devil's Dance, Unforgiven II, The Memory Remains, Hero Of The Day, i remember is the same style of Black Album

  • Lars has nothing on Lombardo

  • anyone know how many beats per second this track is during the main riff?

  • @poobearpanda345 Around 193 BPM...

  • lars cut and pasted these parts.a shell of a man he is indeed.

  • @bluefukingreene

regardless, he still performed it for the recording and still performs it each show, just a simple fact of the business, recording is a totally different thing and everyone does it different.

  • @imisterchris yeah he plays it still but cuts out all the juicy bits which makes it flacid and stale.he recorded that shit 23 years ago when cocaine was more of a facter in his life.i love what lars did befor the black album too bad he has gotten too rich to care about his ever so lazy skill set.dave lombardo murders him as does charlie benante, gene hoglan, john tempesta, paul bostaph, mike portnoy, nicko mcbrain, tim alexander, sean reinart, richard christy, tommy aldridge, vinny caoluito ect. ect. fact

  • he's so fast at his hi hat....

  • 1:54 holy niggers

  • EPIC PART 4.00 :D

& of course the song is epic :D

  • Watch this in full screen 1080p HD.... EPIC!!

  • awesome. thanks

  • Lars definately ads some character to Metallicas music with his trademark sound. plus: this song is so much fun to play

  • 4:03-4:07 i came

  • @Ramtough93 listen to the loop on tornado of souls by megadeth i mean like 8=======D~~~~~~

  • 1:54 o_0

  • nice work man!

  • Oh my god fucking epic. Cheers for making this!!!!

  • and people say lars isn't a good drummer

  • hahaha the drums here sound better than the do on the album! haha, alot less clicking on the bass drums, more of a good bass drum sound

  • bass drum sounds like if you kicking some emo's ass XD

  • lars made the drums, so that shows he is a god drummer, why do people always compare? these drums were written in the early 80's!! not many people do stuff as good as this nowadays

  • @gadmundo this was made in 1988

  • the fucking dual bass is the brutality.. yap ..

  • @MetMasters09 Can not speak for RB but the songs used in GH Metallica ARE the original master tracks.

  • @nickandonehalf I'm wondering that, too. Also, your headphones were on backwards. lol

  • @MetMasters09

    No quality change.

  • This is the first thing i played when my friend brought over his drums...first time i had ever played a drum set too

  • @labrascie IM SURE

  • @CalientexDrummer its called natural talent

  • i could listen to this all day .

  • Hey how did you get this? Lol im kidding

  • 2:14 thats such an amazing fill, i swing off my chair everytime i hear it

  • @ollecarlsson

That one of the most basic fills ever. In fact, I remember having to do one of those fills the first time I ever tried to play fills.

  • @Niekpas fills are easy dude

  • @labrascie

That... depends, but that fill is very easy indeed.

  • @Niekpas but for some reason that one is fun to play

  • thank for this LARS ULRICHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 4:04

  • OMG! That must be sooo hard! Lars - Professional!!! :D

  • EPIC 1:54

  • I don't care who is playing but this is what i needed to practice, thank you man!

  • buhbutuber, are you a Lars n_thugger by any chance? Listen again.. then compare it to say the drum tracks by someone like Dave Lombardo. Lar's timing isn't always bang on and a lot of it is lost in the mix but you can hear it here and my bet is that it is edited. I love the And Justice for All album and the drums but I'm pointing out what seems obvious to me anyway..

  • Yeah this drum track was mixed horribly with all the panning and verb but it does cut well in the mix and that is all that matters. Anyone else notice Lars sloppy foot work on some of the beats?2:14-2:21. I am guessing they punched the kick in and out to make it more or less line up cause it is splotchy in bits. I don't feel so useless anymore as I have shiite feet. :)

  • Stop kidding yourself, there's no sloppiness with the beats at any point of time in the song. You're probably the only one "noticing" something wrong b/w 2:14 to 1:21. Hint hint...

  • aka he used audacity to cut the other instruments.

  • how does he perform those fast double kicks so easily is what i wanna know. Im a drummer and have gotten alot better over the year ive been playing but i want some more challenging songs like this and doing those fast double kicks is something i struggle on. Anyone who can help thanks. sorry if i sound like a total metal drummer newbie.. lol

  • just playing fast for short sequences and then building up your stanima

  • starting with metallica is a great way to start playing drums. check out protest the hero - the dissentience if you want a pretty difficult song to master. If you learn that song I guarantee you'll be a million times better.

  • Double bass drum kit dude. Or for the cheaper version of the same thing you can get a double pedal. Sorry if you already know this and were after more of a technique based tip - the only thing I could offer there is something i heard of called "heel toe" technique.

  • I HEAR BASS!! (guitar that is)

  • it's not so much being able to play this, it's being able to write it. lars wrote countless drum sequences that nobody would ever think of. not saying that this is easy to play at all. it's one of his way more challenging songs. the whole ...and justice for all album is crazy sweet drums. lars is a mastermind.

  • @TillmannBTVdrums so fucking true bro

  • @TillmannBTVdrums ... and the napster thing was bs.. oooohh we have to pay $.99 for a song when the CD's cost 15-20 i mean why do ppl care and why are they so greedy, lars is the shit to end all shits, (and i mean that in a good way)

  • @Mrmetal770 dude, then why don't you just buy cd's?

i hate anyone who steals music. i don't care how much it costs. if everyone stole music there would be no music to steal.

  • @TillmannBTVdrums i read your comment wrong. i'm sorry. haha but i mean all that. just not directed at you.

  • @TillmannBTVdrums ik im siding with lars, napster was right on the line of illegal anyway

  • @TillmannBTVdrums

not true i agree with hating people that steal music but it takes someone to steal music for the rest to steal. if no one stole music then there would not be any to steal but when people steal it just opens the door for everyone else. if everyone stole that would just help the stealing process. because most people download it from file sharing programs and that is just using the material that someone else stole and in turn are stealing themselves.

  • @zeTamadrummaster what i mean is, if everyone stole music, nobody would be able to make music.

because they would have to do it with no compensation. they wouldn't be able to make a living.

  • @zeTamadrummaster Immanuel Kant?

  • @TillmannBTVdrums And that goes for every instrument some people(noobs) just dont get it. Right on man.

  • @TillmannBTVdrums I fucking agree. Fuck the Lars haters.

  • @TillmannBTVdrums Lars is all over the place and thats why its so bad ass

  • @TillmannBTVdrums What you said is true but I think you are giving Lars too much credit. If you check out Dark Angel's second album "Darkness Descends" (1986) you will see that Lars wasn't that original. All in all he is a good drummer but not a mastermind.

  • 1:54 <3333

  • @drummerl yes it is, he got it from the guitar hero metallica stems

  • erm blackened int on guitar hero metallica, nd u can tell this isnt the original.

  • @raulthebear08 lol liam, this is the origional, and he got it off rock band

  • he actually got it from RB sorry to tell yah but blackened wasnt on GHM

  • thats what made him original, but i know what you mean

  • tnx men this is perfect for guitar practicing

  • you suck labrovic! haha

  • XD in the tags, it says fish pickle monster great job no religion yes baking competition as the cat dog ate food good

  • great drumming. lars shound listen to this and then go and practice!

  • search for: Blackened live Nimes... and then tell me if Lars still should listen and go practice :)

  • i know he can be as good now but i saw him in dublin this year and he bailed out of so many fast kick sections which he can do like in the Nimes vid but often pulls out of them

  • Yeah the drumming was doctored

  • yer he should, they miss out the middle bit.

  • yeah, james uses autotune, i know that, but i dont think lars modifies his drums

  • @JaviVS autotune? James uses falsletto

  • listen to dyers eve drumming will u?

  • 4'03 - 4'08 = AUDIO ORGASM.

    And Justice For Ever !!!!!

  • It's not really that great you can do it after some days.

  • (O_O)!! HOW DID YOU GOT THIS???

  • rock band

  • i cant help but sing the guitar parts

  • Awsome bro... \,,/

  • Good track to play guitar along with. : )

  • this song is fun as hell it was the first song i learned when i first got my double bass pedal

  • some part in this song is actually pretty technical :)

  • he does the drumming. the mics don't capture the pedals and idk why the hell that is.

check out Rock in Rio 08 Damage Inc.

  • if ur talking about the bass drum parts, its probably becasue he does it with one foot, on the single bass drum, which means it happens so fast, it isn't very loud, which means it doesn't get picked up enough by the mics to be heard clearly...happens to me sometimes live.

  • yeah i know about that, it happens to me too

but at blacked, the part at 1:55

  • yes, Lars does the drumming, but he skip the last 2 or 3 seconds, it sounds very irregular, he is almost dying while playing it and many times he lose the coordination after fast the double bass parts

  • he doesn't skip 2 or 3 seconds, it is less than a second but anyway, it sounds bad :D

  • difficult !

  • HA HA HA

  • 1:54 long gone..

  • this is pretty easy to get if you have the 360 version you just rip it to your pc.

  • Scratch that you can record the audio directly when practicing the drum track in rock band. Just put the speed at 25 percent and then play it and hit all the notes. and then put it back to 100 when you finish recording

  • how do you rip it 2 ur pc?

  • METALLICA

  • I CANT BELEIVE i MISSED THE HELICOPTER PASSING OUT CRACK LIKE IT WAS fuggin halloween!! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? THAT THIS ISNT TIGHT AS HELL?! BLASPHEME

  • in justice tour 89 his performance was better

  • "sigh'' this is the studio recording, so i dont know how the fuck anyone could play it better

  • back when justice came out, lars was actually this good and could play this live, the way it was..

  • That sounded great! No frills.. I was playing my acoustic along to it as best as I could because I had it handy... that's the real deal holyfield track there... fucking awesome. Thanks!

  • majestic fucking drums

  • 3:43 to 3:46 = insane

  • Impossible...

  • I don't know WHAT is impossible because people didn't like my comment, and I have forgotten something I posted a month ago. Why I would remember it, I don't know.

  • I'm guessing some Metallica fan boys weren't pleased.

  • :P.

  • i agree that this is one of his best drum songs,

and i also believe that this was not altered..

they didn't have pro tools back then, nor any other tool to help them make this album better, so i think this album is awesome.

and as far as the Dyers Eve discussion goes, you can hear Lars kinda screw up in the song during the verses because he's tired as shit during that song.

    lars ruuuules!

  • Lars was awesome back then, you can even hear it on seattle live when he pulls all the double bass parts. I dont think he pull any "tricks" on recording on justice for all, he was just on hes peak back then.

  • they didnt have pro tools but something very similar. he played to a click track since 84 just so they could use as many good takes and cut them into the slot. im weary of his old age cause he sucks balls now, cant hear any kick, or snare in his 2/4 beats live. but maybe its just all age. i say this as a fan, he was an innovater (cant spell). but i personally could kick the shit out of lars' drumming when i was 15

  • before Pro-Tools you actually had to to measure and cut the tape to edit drum tracks, Mutt Lange was known for his drum editing back then.

  • this is metallica's greatest song

  • In my opinion, his most challenging and innovative drumming came off of this album right here.

  • I love Metallica but something's not right here: It sounds copied and pasted together, like they used the hell out of ProTools. During the verse parts, the cymbals of the hi-hat die out like they were cut off, just like sound editing programs do. But he's pulled off the drumming live, so I'm not complaining, just hearing the drums themselves on this track kind of disappoints me.

  • its by using a click track so you can cut and paste the best bits and parts

  • in my opinion, one of lars' best drum songs

  • aaaa guys, maybe hes feet arent that fast, but any musician must agree with me, that he never slows or fastens, He is one of few drummers that can keep a steady rhytm (BPM)

  • @gacovnica

Please stop trying to defend Lars. Every single drummer can keep a steady rhythem. It's one of the basics! It's absolutely essential in order to become a proper drummer!

  • you can say it now in a live concert (bass drums so off or he is no playing the bass drums fast) but not about and justice and earlier albums ;)

  • there are all sorts of urban myths about justice and its drumming. i once heard that lars recorded 1 measure of double bass to tape and looped that throughout the whole of Dyers Eve

  • go and listen to it again. youll notice that each time the bass starts it starts either loud or weak, and ends either loud or weak EVERY TIME. its off time in some places too..

fuck i wish i could ask him what he did

  • Listen to battery live in 89 or disposable heroes in metal hammer festival, he can druk that fast and can keep his pace live, I don't know about dyers eve but I highly doubt that used diff takes for the bass pedals.

  • I think that Dave Lombardo, Neil Peart, Chris Nail or Nick Menza are better than Lars but Lars was a original and intense drummer. Now he has lost very much

  • its totally a different style or should i came with joe morello or john bonham ? you can only compare lombardo to lars wich came with intense drumming earlier than dave when Hell Awaits was realesed

  • very goood

  • The Metallica songs on Rockband ARE the originals.

If anyone is wondering how he got these. he just wen into Practice mode on Rockband/Guitar Hero and didn't play the Guitar.

    Easy.

  • How'd you get this? omg!

  • I wanna here Fade To Black... an Hits Lights

  • Hit The Lights*

  • Esse não é o Lars tocando...é feito em Computador essa bateria, pq o cara q fez esqueceu d reproduzir uma virada q tem no final...ele fez no bumbo aonde no CD é na caixa!!

  • I love 3:05

  • i wana hear st anger lol

  • a big thx from germany !

  • Haha @ "don't ask how I got this" like it's some big secret and you've got exclusive access to it. Pipe down.

  • no its because he had to kill 200 people for the mafia in order to get it... oh god ive said too much! [End Transmission]

  • He had to suck Lars' Dick for it.

  • exactly! haha like he's a big shot..... hahahaha!

  • best band ever

  • y love lars drumming

  • excellent!

  • It's from Rock Band. Any song that you can get for it, you can get the stems for.

  • i dont want to know how you got it, i want to know if you can do a drum master track for and justice for all?
