@Skybaby79 I'm glad I was not the only one who noticed, this is official tho, it was released on an official CD by her record company during the Symphony Tour. However, many of these versions of the songs lack of some of the instruments, in this case, the electric guitar.
Calm down ya'll she's not even singing in this video and you are commenting on her singing.. silly people. As for the actual instrumentalists playing this music.. makes my heart melt.. it's such a wonderful composition!! :)
@SneakiLiki Would have to second that opinion. I cannot for the life of me think of any human being past or present who can even come close to doing what lisa Gerrard does. She is like a living saint of vocal perfection.
Who does she thinks she is trying to get the sam emotion feeling in it? News; isn't working. Lisa is 100% the one that needs to be singing this song. An Hans Zimmer was never a member of dead can dance btw. She did a lot with patrick Cassedy.
Hans Zimmer makes great music tough, like the ost for The Rock, Pearl harbor, Gladiator and much more.
what this version brings to this piece is just how powerful the score is ! with lisa its all about that voice, but with this version "sarah's" without vocals, it shows how sweeping yet gentle this piece really is , just love it !!
Really? I bet she had no idea what was singing while recording this. She is singing it at a faster pace and she is not even feeling the song. No emotion conveyed whatsoever, just a breathy vocalise and that's all.
I don´t thing it can be copared versions of Lisa Gerrard and Sarah Brightman, it´s two different singers with two completely different voices........ i´d like to hear this song, when they´d sing a duet.... ;-) ;-)
this is such a beautiful song and Sarah adds so much to it. the ethereal and angelic qualities of her voice just makes this song hit your heart, Sarah's version is the best...no one can touch the Angel of Music :)
Yet you are here, wasting your time watching all her videos and leaving nasty comments. Don't you have a life? Anything Sarah does to protect her lovely soprano is fine by me!
@Ashleyd73 See, all respect to Sarah Brightman, amazingly talented singer but I honestly can't say her version matches the majesty of Lisa Gerrard's...when I hear Lisa's version almost without fail I'm choked up and extremely moved...Sarah's version, while completely respectable and a great homage never managed that for me.
Both Lisa & composer Andrew Claxton approved of and consulted with Sarah before the recording and have given praise to the final version. Hurray for them, and to Sarah for such a lovely tribute!
The entire sheet music (including lyrics) is due to be published in 2010 by Music Sales Group. This will be the first time I believe that the printed lyrics of Sanvean will become available
This is one of the best orchestral pieces ever written. It has such a sorrowful yet timeless tune to it. I've loved Lisa's version for ages and I was kinda reserved when Sarah announced it back in 2008. When I gave Sarah's version a try I was in awe. So different to Lisa's rendition and still beautiful, etherial and otherworldly. No doubt that one needs to grow as an artis in order to perform a piece like this. Both, Lisa and Sarah have succeeded in that.
Actually this song was written by Lisa Gerard formerly of Dead Can Dance. And although she wrote it during her time in the group it wasn't released on a studio album until her debut solo album; The Mirror Pool. But there is a great live version of it on the live DCD album called Toward The Within. It has nothing to do with Hans Zimmer. But she did collaborate with him on the Gladiator soundtrack, which is amazing.
Actually, what you are hearing in this track was composed entirely by me - Andrew Claxton. When Lisa and I co-wrote this song in 1993 I wrote all the accompaniment and Lisa added her vocal melody. We co-own the copyright. A number of people over the years have arranged this song and they of course own the mechanical right to their recording. The arrangement of this particular track would have been done by Sarah Brightman's regular arranger/conductor. Hans Zimmer has never had any involvement

So incredibly gorgeous.......... It took my breath away. I literally couldn't breathe. Definitely on my favorites. Thank you. I must get that boxed set.
With this song i remember the "Intro" of her Symphony World Tour in Guadalajara, MEXICO, the audience was screaming and clapping all the time and Sarah was so excited about that!
I'm just wondering where in the world do you find the words to this song? I did listen to the sarah brightman rendition of this beautiful peace and would really love the words.
There are no words. The song is by Andrew Claxton and Lisa Gerrard and according to Wikipedia, "Like most of her work it is sung in a euphonic and emotional pseudo-language."
I had thought that perhaps Sarah Brightman was singing on this. It'd be interesting to hear her take on it vocally. If you haven't heard the original Lisa Gerrard version, please do yourself a favor and check it out! This gorgeous music with Lisa's unearthly voice is too amazing to miss!
Ah, just heard Sarah's vocal version. Cool. Sarah and Lisa Gerrard each have such unique voices, and they're totally different. Sarah seems very air and water, whereas Lisa is earth and fire. I prefer Lisa's, but it was good to hear another great voice doing this.
Yes, this song is the intro of Sarah's Symphony Tour (the best show I've seen in my life, perhaps only second to Harem Tour in Vegas). Also in Symphony, the intro of Wonderful World is charming, sweet, so beatiful.
Nope, Sarah's had a bit of metal guitar in the background towards the end.

It's called an 'instrumental' people. If you want the vocalise, get her 'Symphony' album, or just look it up here on Youtube.

I suppose this is just a tribute to Lisa Gerrard, and maybe Sarah don't even try to sing because nobody, until now, can do it better than Gerrard....

Gracias a quien la subió, es algo más para atesorar de Sarah Brightman, la voz mas hermosa del planeta.
