Oh wow. In my game I found a level 30 Gyrados standing like that in the Lake of Rage, you're lucky you found a shiny one! Mine for some reason was holding a Red Scale too! :D

one you always save before a boss battle or a rare pokemon battle.

@Kororocks12 No, just be confident in what you're doing. For example if you want to catch a rare pokemon, be sure you can catch it before you try. If you're fighting a gym leader be sure you can beat it, duh
