  • 1. Lance Alworth

    2. Jerry Rice

  • nobody is even close to rice

  • 240p...Jerry Rice just saved you

  • It goes Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders!

  • 9ers missed out not taking Desean. Crabtree is all Hype team he is soft as tissue.Waa waa waa next thing you know he'll write a book , "Just let me skip preseason". He's the Allen Iverson of FB without any of the performances to get the stature. I'm not hating actually don't confuse me with not wanting him as a Niner I 'm just sayin , he isn't a player. 14krt fake so far

  • Ouu lawd the shake

  • id could cover rice when he turns 70

  • Moss is more than a deep threat the reason why you don't see him make tons of out and post catches is cause he is constantly double triple teamed

  • BIG TIME

  • You know what's scary? At his age he looks better than a dozen NFL WRs

  • "he ran the best routes of any receiver i coached at my camps, and has great hands."- Jerry Rice on DeSean Jackson

  • hes right, if nobody's working harder then you, nobody is better than you, thats why im working hard as heck to be better then rice.

  • @pierrekeller11 good luck

  • fuck the 3 dick heads that disliked this vid. fuck wrong with yall

  • i mustve done the shake route at a game weekend like 4 times. it works so much its actually unreal especially if you do it the right way. the corner couldnt handle it

  • @kilox10001 DeSean Jackson TO randy and wes welcker from the pats as your receiving core with peyton manning at quarter back.

  • desean jacksons going to be a great

  • @memphis148 your SO right. he would be voted even just because he is jerry rice haha

  • Rice could still play today and be a pro bowler.

  • @memphis148 even in his last years in oak and sea didn't look so good, so I don't think that would happen.

  • @1000elvago ,he looked great in Oak,he went to the super bowl and made Rich Gannon league MVP,and this was at the age of 40

  • @kilox10001 yeah but we need a qb

  • @kilox10001 good point..good to debate with a sorts fan with out arguing..of course i like T.O. im a 49ers fan lol

  • @kilox10001 hell nah for about 4 years maybe but all around

  • @kilox10001 are those your favorites or who u think the best are 1. Rice 2. T.O. 3. Chris Carter ,, noparticular order andre johnson will be up there But u forgot about drew pearson tim brow marvin harrison...too many too list

  • Rice is right , when a DB is guarding you and he knows you explode of the line he is gonna start getting further away from you. When I saw that happen as we practiced my friend was the Corner and he would always get way back cause he knew i liked going deep on my routes so i went 5yds then slanted and he was confused.

  • rice was the best man

he is completely unequal unlike pretty much any other position

    qb - competition between manning/brady/montana/unitas/favre/marino

    hb - competition between sanders/payton/brown/smith

cb - competition between prime time and night train

wr - there can be only one

  • RICE= KING

  • desean is my favourite player now and jerry rice my fav all time player lol...

  • Rice will always be the best....#s don't lie. Check the stats!

  • Come on Rice was the best and it's obvious. By the way, I love how those young guys ran loose routes and didn't have the moves that old Rice had.

  • Desean Jackson is probably Cal's best ever receiver and Jerry Rice is probably the best receiver and player ever

  • @Higibob456

I think Don Hutson is probably #1. But Rice is for sure a close 2.

  • @TheOtherView You must be white.

  • @TempeSoldier123

    I am...

But I also think that Magic was better than Bird. What do you make of that?

  • @TheOtherView bullshit rice is the best ever and don hudson before he died predicted jerry rice would break every record and that was in 1988

  • @TheOtherView Magic was better than bird you don't have to think about that. Won more championships, won the the college championship. Better passer. Made his team better. Played more positions. Now Don Hudson? He was good but you can't be serious. Have you ever seen him play? I haven't. Once again the game of football is an eyeball test. You have to see a person the field to tell who was better. Just like Bo Jackson was better to me than Emmit Smith. Thats what my eyes tell me!

  • too much degrees of masonry

  • @EMRAHsays degrees of what?

  • This man is class personified

  • @bigcarlos513 what does that mean??

  • @deseanjackson1010 When something is personified. it his given human form, or personal traits. Therefore the human version of class...is Jerry Rice

  • Fix the video description, please. :]

    PHILADELPHIA EAGLES's DeSean Jackson. :]

  • Jerry is the best hands down. He's like the michael jordan of receiving. Moss might b 2. he's like the kobe that wont quite catch jordan but can come close.

  • @achille289767 moss is great but he wasnt hard working and dedicated as rice was

  • like Mahammad Ali the Greatest of all time The Goat #80 Jerry Rice

  • Wow what a blessing!! Jerry Rice giving you a lil lesson

  • There is no such thing as a dry liquid substance you dumbass thinking you know it all

  • @nabisco2 FAIL.....at chemistry. lol

  • the only argument you could ever make about jerry rice, is who is second to his greatness. actually who is third because behind him is Don hutson.

  • 2:50 that was the UGLIEST route!

  • @clayg80 ,that was a great route

  • to say jerry wasnt the best is crazy.....you haters might as well argue that water isnt really wet

  • @ryan49er1 i agree with the whole jerry rice thing but water isn't wet scientific fact

    just sayin

  • @ashalmighty12

Yes it is, water is a liquid. The argument you will make next is pertaining to interpretation of the definition of wet, not the general knowledge that when a substance is in liquid form it is wet as opposed to dry.

    Go have another drink.

  • how can u cover him? moves so slick w/ hands, speed and size. guess that's why he's hall-of-fame.

  • If DeSean is smart then he would cherrish this day...the greatest of all time has taken time out of his day to share what he knows with you. I was him this would be one of the greatest days of my life. I would internalize every word Mr. Rice spoke.

  • when DeSean was a rookie I read an article where Rice spoke about DeSean's running route and out of Rice's mouth he said DJax was ahead of his years and was far ahead of when Rice was a rookie, I told this to a couple of people and they laughed at me but the joke is on who?

  • Fitz and Rice are similar in that they both have some of the best route running in the history of the NFL. They both aren't incredibly fast, but they can control the DB's with their quick and perfected route running. I do believe Rice had better hands, and was a better receiver overall. Fjtz's ability to locate the ball and go over defenders is just unmatchable.

  • Bob Hayes,Jerry Rice forever...........

  • hahahaha 2:26 DB broke his ankle.

  • i want to no cause erybody say jerry wasnt fast but i wanna no how many times have u seen him cught from behind or dive for a pass that wasnt a td ??????????

  • Niner FB every Sunday. I saw JR give some of the best down field blocks any WR ever made. I bet if asked / polled RB's that played with JR will say he was also the one of the best blocking WR of all time. It was the Bill Walsh system. Run every route like the balls coming to you, and block your ass off on every running play. Started seeing it with Freddie Solomon Dwight clark then John Taylor and JR . Knocking DB's around on running plays. DB's were not used to that on an every down basis. 9ers

  • Rice is the best ever..

  • If you like football then go to Thewiiman772 channell and check it out.

  • Its simple folks rice was best route runner ever...............that will open up other accolades. Wes welker is the best currently , his speed and first cut are unmatched which leads to 100 catches a year.

  • @BIGRED224FOREVER i disagree completly. wes isn't a deep threat like rice was. they are different receivers entirely. But I get why you say that. Wes is underneath mainly & has to rely on route running, & rice ran great underneath & short quick routes fantasticly. but, i'd compare moss to rice not welker. :)

  • @lighterbuds I followed niners since 80, when rice was drafted he was said to have 4.7 speed and could catch anything. He was not considered a deep threat and actually never was until around 94, 9 years after his first catch. The football term "YAC" was coined because of rice taking those welker 10's and turning them into rice 80's.

  • @lighterbuds Rice was a deep threat however, he just took longer to get to top speed thats where the west coast fit him like a glove with a 7 step montana drop. Its funny how i actually only remember him dropping 2 sure passes ever. T.O your only 550 catches behind, start hanging on to the ball and you too can end up 400 catches back when you retire! Those 2 passes 1986 vs giants on a 70 yard td he fubled , niners lost 49-3..............G.B he "fumbled it" plain as day!

  • "Winners, I am convinced, imagine their dreams first. They want it with all their heart and expect it to come true. There is, I believe, no other way to live". -Joe Montana

  • let the internet idiots diss jerry rice ignorance is bliss

  • djax got potenial to be a hall of famer fred davis a bust go birdz

  • amazing

  • Greatest of all time! congrats on 1st ballot HOF Jerry!

  • i'm a DB and he got me twice with his shake route through that video :D.. imagine covering him in RL

  • @dafreshprinceyo Did you get a chance to watch Jerry vs. Darrell Green or Jerry vs. Deion? I was in high school during the 80's and got to see Hall of Fame vs. Hall of Fame 6-8 times a season.

  • @4JayeP unfortunately not :) i live & play in germany

  • you better listen to ever word he says DeSean...but for some reason I get the feeling your head is too big...lost opportunity.

  • @joshtj44 If you look at deseans stats since his years in NFL i think you would disagree. And not only that but why say that about him anyways?

  • WOW! That is why he is the best! Lookout for Jackson!

  • jerry rice what a bigtime beast!!!

  • GOAT

  • Jerry was the master, plain and simple.

  • Michael Irvin!

  • the 2 great 1s in this vid is jerry rice and desean jackson fred davis is a bust go birds

  • I met Jerry Rice back in 05, he's a very nice guy.

  • What an incredible mind for the game. Moss fans make me sick with all their crap talking. He aint got nuthin on the G.O.A.T.

  • @Nukeasfinest1 what does g.o.a.t mean?

  • @prokhan17

    Greatest.Of.All.Time

  • @Nukeasfinest1 hahahahaha good one

  • j rice was the best receiver to ever play the game. He reads defenses and studies how the DB's are covering him. He doesn't just explode off the line and run routes like every receiver these days.

  • at 1:00 what kind of gloves is the guy wearing, the black and white ones? and where can i get them.

  • jerry rice can still school the young and quick players. imma use dis technique in a game especially on man to man

  • @gifte

Fitzgerald ran a 4.62 40 yard dash and Jerry Rice ran a 4.59 40 yard dash....his head coach Bill Walsh even said so himself

  • thats why desean is so ill

  • PRACTICE!! we talkin about PRACTICE?

    Desean is a beast

  • Is there really any debate who the greatest WR of all time is?

  • not really, might be Desean Jackson in another 10 years

  • @TempeSoldier123 he's probably the greatest FOO BALL PLAYER EVER,not just the greatest WIDE RECEIVER

  • @weedman6926 You must be white if you don't think Jerry Rice isn't. Let me guess, you're a Favre fan, right?

  • why is rice still retired?

  • Rice can still do it

  • Great video on Jerry's ability to shake defenders. No wonder he was the best ever. DeSean will be another great star if he doesn't get hurt.

  • What fuckin' moves!!!

  • PUKE balmer and chilo rachal over jackson PUKE

  • Jackson can change directions with so much ease it's ridiculous.

  • The Shake.

That's the route that DeSean Jackson can run perfectly. That's the route he broke the Redskins off on Monday Night Football.

  • Do you have the full version of Jerry Rice "In Our Own Words?"

  • The GOAT. I'm glad DJax got some tips from Mr. GOAT...cuz DJax is a beast!

  • jackson is a beast

  • Look how good desean is becoming Jerry rice loves watching him. (espn)

  • WOW! i wonder if Desean knows how much of a complement that is for jerry to take the time out and show him some moves thats like having Michael Jordan teaching u how to fly Jerry is the greatest WR tp ever play the game

  • Jerry is still nasty

  • I'm happy the eagles got jackson, and knowing what jerry rice said about him, very happy to know :)

rice is the BEST overall WR ever, period

    FUCK RANDY MOSS!

  • if you would take fitzgerald over jerry rice, you are a complete fucking idiot.

  • there r lots of people that did stuff better than rice but nobody ran routes or worked harder or had better hands. at the same time in his career rice had 79 td to fitz 54td. rice 7866 yds to fitz 6680. rice had 2 rings fitz has 0. shoot moss is better than fitz. even t.o when he's on a decent team is better than fitz. u can be the best athlete in the world but if u don't perform on the field than it doesnt matter. rice performed and won championships cause of it. fitz has nothing. jackass

  • fitz is a great receiver he works hard and catches the football i wouldnt be shocked if rice broke one of rice's receiver records

  • yeah that would be soooo weird of jerry rice broke jerry rices receiving record!!!!

  • @MacedonianBever The problem is most younging today were not even born before 1990 and those were actually rice's hey day! they say he played football before the raiders...............me only knows highlights from espn and moss!

  • @MacedonianBever the difference in years between Jerry Rice and Isac Bruce (Number #1 and #2 in all time recieving yards) is the total number Larry Fitzgerald has in his entire career... let that rattle in your brain haha

  • @TheGrahams That has nothing to do with it. Jerry Rice is just the best receiver ever. You can tell that just by watching him, or by looking at his stats for that matter. Dont et me wrong Larry Fitzgerald is a pimp, hes a great receiver, but not as good as Rice, but you never know, lets see how he does later in his career.

  • @TheGrahams moron

  • @MacedonianBever yea I'm sorry but Fitz isnt even close to the top 5 receivers, and we all know what number Jerry is

  • @thePhenomenon90 yeah i know thats why i said if someone were to take fitzgerald over jerry rice they would be retarded.

  • Sorry. You don't know shit about football.

  • you're right, my bad. Shorter, smaller, slower, recievers are better. Oh, wait, they're not you dumbfuck.

  • nate2203 u need to educate urself about football cause u look like an idiot on here. greatness has nothing to do with speed, size u fuckin idiot. u have big, fast and strong recievers that ain't worth the shit in the nfl. it's bout skill, tuffness and hard work. that's why jerry is the greatest. rice beat db's by out thinking them and out working them. u should really watch the history of football and learn something b4 u cum up in here looking like a horses ass.

  • If jerry rice was 5'1" 100lbs and ran a 6sec forty he would have made it in the NFL? Size and speed definitely DO matter, look at Randy Moss. Fitzgerald has the all the skill, toughness and work ethic that Rice did PLUS he's bigger and faster. It just took him a couple years to get his #'s because he was on a HORRIBLE team until Warner came along. Rice was drafted by the superbowl champion 49ers and the Vikes were a playoff team before Moss got drafted by them.

  • actually Larry Fitzgerald is relatively as fast as Jerry Rice was.

  • relatively? relative to what?

  • relative to the fact that Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.5sec 40 time, opposed to Jerry Rice's 4.6sec 40 time. Not significantly better. Hence straight line speed isn't as much a factor as game speed. Which both have. 40 times can be misleading.

  • 4.6 his sophomore year in college, reportedly 4,71 when he went fo the draft. Yes, 40 times don't really matter all that much when it comes down to it, unless you catch the ball behind the coverage and are trying to run away ;-)

  • The 40-time is the most overrated aspect of the combine. Look at how far Marques Colston fell, because he was deemed "slow". The shuttle drill interests me more, as I can judge how quickly someone can change direction. Players like Desean Jackson and Percy Harvin would blow through both drills with ease.

  • @gifte Or that 40 times are more accurate to get today than 25 years ago.

  • @thewho6507 always is a spacing of +/ - .5 secs

  • Wow your an idiot. Going by what your saying Matt Jones should be in the Hall of Fame because he is a 6'6 220lb receiver who runs a 4.3...Try watching some clips of Steve Largent and come back here. A 5'11 187lb receiver with only average speed and yet he broke all the NFL receiving records. Dumbass.

  • No, that is not what I said, dipshit. Learn to fucking read. Size and speed are only TWO of the things I listed.

  • i guess u got people like urself that just started watching football.lol fitzgerald would kill his mama to be the type of player that rice was. u just dumb as fuck. u probably pick brad johnson over peyton manning. lmao go watch baseball or golf man.

  • You mean he would kill his mama to have been drafted by the Patriots(the equivalent of 49ers in Rice's day) so he wouldn't have had to carry such a shitty team for years all by himself. Rice got drafted by the superbowl champs, he had a cakewalk.

  • As good of a team he got drafted to, look at what he did when he went to Oakland. That proves his unbelievable talent as the greatest ever. Or is it easy to make the probowl as a receiver at 40 years old?

  • wow thats the stupidest thing i heard n long time

  • @Nate2203 Hondaftw1 just pooped all over your argument. Jerry Rice was the best because he worked the hardest. Not because he had a cakewalk.

  • desean is a beast

  • I'm in the middle of reading jerry's autobiography, and it's really good, you guys need to read it. made him my hero.

But jerry rice ran a 4.6 40, and that's slow for a reciever, but he had football speed which is totally different. the speed you have to cut and make the plays. he wasn't lieing when he said he worked the hardest either. He we never a showboat, he only did one endzone dance in his career. and didn't like it. And worked hours after practice perfecting routes

  • people put too much into 40 times, in fact boldin the cards WR also only ran a 4.71 but he makes plays

speed is one of many things that makes WR good, rice is the BEST though

  • Jerry Rice told the Niners that they should get DeSean Jackson. Did they listen??? NO!! Now Jackson is working miracles for Philly. Why not take the advice from the G.O.A.T???

  • @GUEROMEXICANO831 Enserio los Niners tuvieron la oportunidad de tomar a Desean, que pendejos por dejarlo pasar

  • You are seriously calling him overrated because of one play? The guy is overall a very smart player...didn't have great speed or strength, but amazing route running and awareness. He dominated in an era when corners were able to harass receivers past 5 yards. If you don't think that matters, see the NFC Championship of the Eagles vs Panthers...those Eagles receivers couldn't do squat against the Panther corners. Oh and Rice has the stats to back his game up.

  • @theeboredone The whole panthers team that year was also on steroids, cheated the Eagles and the rest of the NFL teams out of a fair season

  • @theeboredone That was like 7 years ago

  • what in the hell sparked this

  • 'most overrated player ever'

I hope you are joking. Otherwise please go to your nearest hospital and ask for a brain scan because you may have some sort of mental illness.

  • your comment isnt even worth a rebuttle

  • your stupid

  • You should be president

  • your seriously retarted.hes the G.O.A.T.

  • Jerry rice SHOULD go into the hall in 2010

FUCKING PUT HIM IN, the man has waited too long!

  • JERRY RICE OWNS

moss and anyone else isnt even close to rices records, super bowl rings and HOF numbers

  • that music starting at 2:20 is very "iffy"

  • I love this game, its just messed up that playing high school football made me hate to ever play this sport again.

  • dynamicdesign101 should stfu jerry rice is the greatest nfl wide receiver you dot know nothing about nfl child please

  • There is a 5 year wait period after a guy retires to induct them into the HOF. They should just waive that rule for certain players. Rice was so damn good he should been inducted into the HOF while still playing. At some point its obvious that a person is a HOFer so once you reach that point then the question is, is this person 1st ballot. Once you know the person is 1st ballot then just induct even if they still active. Rice shoulda went in the day he turned in the retirement papers.

  • jerry could really run those routes

  • Comment removed

  • jerry rice or michael jordan?

  • Greatest athlete in the modern age of the big three i'm assuming? Have to go with Rice. Michael has too many people close to him and possibly above him. People don't even bother comparing people to Jerry Rice.

  • dis is da best reciever eever no doubt

  • Rice had perfect feet, perfect hands, and above average speed, as a ram fan at the time, fan i hated watching him play

  • Moss is Going to Be One Of The Best.

  • Moss is already one of the best

  • i know.
