The speakers on my laptop are roughly 1 inch in diameter, and STILL one can hear how awesome the sound quality of this box is. Very impressive, and yes, right up there with Buchla if not higher up. (I have only very little experience with Buchla, and none with Serge.)
I'm gonna save a few tenners and get me a dozen or so Serges. ;-)

@cray56 The Phaser/Dual Phaser module is actually designed around several vactrols. But this is the only one. ; )

How much would this system cost? I want one. Can the serge do wooden and FM type metallic percussion sounds? Like how buchlas can sound.

I've always thought Serge systems sound similar to Buchlas, probably due to demos of both systems all using Vactrol Low Pass Gates hehe.
