  • How much*

  • PSI is psi 12 pounds is the same no matter what you turbo is producing it. I don't want to sound like I'm disrespecting you that's. Not my intent, Maybe. I misunderstood your question.

  • @mrmaxv1 Well how longer the boost lasts and when it's delivered in the powerband makes a difference. Smaller turbo's mean easier to spool, more bottom end and mid power/torque but drop off at the top end, which is what my S80 T6's turbo's do. Larger Turbo's spool later on, but keep the boost going. Twin Sequential turbo's like what Mazda has have two turbo's, one for the bottom to middle, another middle to top. This all makes a difference.

  • Very nice.

  • That's a very nice power gain. How many miles on you T5? Have you seen the vid of the vid of the 01 s60 T5 with just a stage 2 taking a tuned g35 2 door coupe? People can't believe it.

  • I have a 01 v70 T5. Volvo just recently modified the MAF sensor for models with that air box set up. If your running your factory MAF or haven't replaced it within the last 2 months i suggest IPD. if you go to your local auto parts store most likely you're getting a refurbished faulty MAF. I am on my third one now in less than 2 years. Whith the new modified MAF love it! much less sporadic exceleration smoother shifting, much more consistent all the way around.

  • Lol and I like the power output. Reminds me of the a4 which also gains a ton of low end power with those mods

  • That sucks, having less power from a dig. No wonder this car isn't popular with eurotuner no offense. Still, it's very underrated and I bet it's fast when pushin 18psi. And to those that don't know, a tune= ecu remap and other parts mentioned are the exhaust components, all of which allows higher boost output. Im curious if aftermarket turbo would at least make the car seem faster while running 12 psi during those initial pulls

  • Dude. I dont know shit about this car. I've just recently obtained one as a beater upper. I'm a broke fucker...I dont know what I'm gonna do with it.

It needs minor body repair like small dents, those black strips on the bumpers, new tires, and engine work cause the car runs like shit and it has no reverse.

  • Nice dude! Cars Running perfecto. I have the same car with CAI & a few other bits. With your mods it's running nicely. Do you have a FMIC, if not it'll help alot due to the bad radiator/ air con/ i/c setup. Also, try another run, this time buold up the revs to about 2-3k rpms then take off so that the turbo starts boosting harder just after take off. much smoother, leave the DTSC on to reduce the wheelspin & it'll take off quicker. AGood luck with your car. Also try the ipd cbv kit or forge cbv

  • This car isnt running right its way to slow for the specs ...

Even a standard t5 is faster than this piece of shit

  • @paashaasede - No it isn't. You're an idiot.

  • @clee130 he is right i have a 02 s60 t5, only things ive done is change the oil to mobil 1 5w-30. change the tranny fluid, put a cone filter on, and chopped the muffler off. i run the 0-60 in 6 seconds at 11 psi. i used the same timer for my car as yours and you ran it in 7 seconds...

you might want to change your mas air flow sensor and you map sensor i could bet you will get faster times. :)

ohh yeah my car is also geartronic!! x)

  • @preludejunker - No he isn't right. Like I said in the description, I have the tune without the torque delete which means that I'm boosting 11 psi in 1st and 2nd gear also. It boosts at 18 psi in 3rd gear. It's evident in the video especially @ 10 secs in. I can change the oil, tranny fluid, add a cone filter, and a new MAF sensor and I still wouldn't run any faster.

  • The car is pretty fast. I own a S60 T5 2001 tuned to 290 HP and your car seems to be faster than mine. I am running 14 psi.

  • I have this car, but its stock, how much does it take to do all this?

  • @JetlinerXPilotXFSX - Tune - $800 + Custom dp + catback - $1300 = $2100

  • @clee130 And if I have no clue about cars? lol

  • @JetlinerXPilotXFSX Two options - 1) Don't mess with the car. 2) Read a lot - The forums at Swedespeed[dot]com are a good start.

  • i have a 02 t5 chipped intake and manual boost controller and i can crank it up as much as i can and my boost wont go above 10 psi any ideas on why?

  • Because you can't use a mbc on these cars. The ECU is sensing that it is overboosting and cutting the boost to a safe amount - in your case, the stock boost of 10-12 psi.

  • Seems like it's slipping a little. ;)

  • Nice car, but seems slow for a standard t5 let alone a modified one! Mine is a manual 01 plate and standard, but can usually run 0 60 in 6.3 secs. Does Geartronic slow these cars down this much?

  • Heat is a pretty big factor. If I recall, it was pretty warm out the night I recorded this.

I did a calculation based on my 14.6 1/4 mile run when the temperature was approx 55 degrees and my 0-60 is 6.2 secs.

  • Also, I don't have the torque delete option which leaves the stock 12 psi for first and second gear in the tuned ECU. When third gear hits, it boosts to 18 psi.

  • The T5s equipped with the geartronic should do 0-60 in 6.2 seconds.

  • I can't fucking stand rednecks with their big ass, lifted, dually trucks. I hate them! (this is coming from someone who lives in texas). I see all these people bragging about their stangs and rice burners, and they might beat me (the stangs i mean) off the line at a stop light, but then i'll take 'em to the highway and watch 'em eat shit.

  • Oh my God, can't you all just shut the F*CK up. You must all have something better to do than compare car specifications...

  • It's the internet, of course we don't. :-D

  • buy american? You are a retard. Volvo t5 is a great engine. BTW, the person with the lame ass WS6 will get owned above 140. I know from experience as I drive a 850T with 230,000 miles on it, stock transmission by the way. Let me guess, your other car is a big ass truck

  • Learn to read before calling someone a retard. I said that if you want to go fast in first or second gear, go buy American.

Why would I be driving a big ass truck if I have videos of a tuned Volvo?

  • sorry replied to wrong one...I meant to reply to the "not impressed" dude below. Whooooops. BTW I can read. My fault for replying to wrong post, your fault for not looking up or down. Word

  • dude I agree that first gear is not fast for the T5, but second gear is fast. From stop, you cant beat a Mustang GT, but from 2nd gear, 40 mph roll, we can destroy them. I say we because we drive same cars. Trust me, go find a mustand get up to 35-40 and race. He will stay close behind until you shift into 3rd. Then you just say bye bye.

  • My 1/4 mile times are pretty on par with stock Mustang GTs so I would like to think that I would be able to hang with a GT from a stop.

But I've already raced a GT and a Mach1 on the highway and I've edged out both by a nose.

  • Good. Keep on showing off the sleeper. People are amazed when they hear my CBV go off. Especially civics who pull up next to me thinking Im driving my granny's car. They get smoked hard at every stop light.

  • sorry not impressed.

from an owner of an 02 WS6

  • ...that could go the same for someone with a ferrari or lambo or any faster car...so shut the fuck up.

  • s60 T5 is 248 HP stock... my manual shif bone stock will blow the speed in this video away... this is a poor example....

  • 248 hp to the crank, yes. Not 248 hp to the wheels.

I ran a 14.5 @ 98 mph in the 1/4 mile. What did you run?

  • Comment removed

  • Stock = 15.4 second @ 91 mph

    Tuned = 14.5 seconds @ 98 mph

Hmmm ... looks like I got faster.

  • Dude, do you know what you are doing? 7 secs to 60? What a let down. I have really been wnating to do the same mods to my S60 T5. See if you can post a better run, I'm real curious about IPD's claims.

  • stock:

    206 whp

    222 ft/lb tq

    tuned:

    247 whp

    303 ft/lb tq

If you want speed off the line, get rid of the torque delete, boost 18 lbs in 1st and 2nd gear in an automatic and blow your transmission or go buy American.
