  • Urgent and cautious.

  • So intense and moving. Sounds like a Dolphin power-ballad.

  • Wow, I generally listen to classical music but I am always open to new music, and let's just say I am extremely happy to have found this wonderful song!

  • How the fuck can you dislike this track? I don't get it, honestly I don't, and I've been listening to Autechre since Tri Repetae. The whole album took a while for me to sit on and ponder it, but I listen to it quite regularly now.

  • beautifully piece of scary music composed by Autechre. Mesmerizing and disturbing at the same time.

  • music for the princesses chambers

  • lovely lullaby until 1'09 then the boys from Rochdale turn on the aural thumbscrews relaxing and unnerving at the same time - amazing to think that 20+ years on and these guys can still come up with the goods to make me sit up and take notice - great album Oversteps - dont try and dance or relax to it!

  • i know this track in particular wasn't well received on the forums when the album first came about but after a year of listening to the album on and off i have to say that this track in particular rises above the rest in terms of originality. it totally messes with my head and is unlike anything else i've ever heard before. i dislike it but love it at the same time. it's a really strange one even by autechre's standards.

  • haunting

  • Does anyone else get involuntary spasms when listening to this on acid?

  • Why arnt these guys more well known...hmm. i guess it doesnt fit with mainstream tastes..who knows

  • incredibly pretty; something about it seems...unnerving though

  • Genius.

  • this is the classical music of the XXI century

  • Reminds me of the music for Legend Of Galahad on the Sega MegaDrive. I love it.

  • This track is reason number 827 why I consider Autechre the best thing ever happened to Music.

(That part at the 2:39 mark creates chills down my spine)

  • @Phototato .....2:39.... you are absolutely right about this mark. I get chills every time I hear this part. I'm glad others do as well.

  • MOZART IN SPAAAAAACE

  • Chime Pad,Absynth 5.

  • A star borning

  • Sublimen

  • 444

  • the soundtrack to some not-too-long-off android-love film in which some piece of circuitry is dying, electrical wiring failing, electricity sputtering about, random movement, lamented: a Replicant funeral dirge.

  • world of sound

  • That sound.. Its like they squash 20.000 square meters air through a 1 centimeter hole..

  • love lots of 4 autechre

  • This should become a classic actually.

  • This sticks in my head. Amazingly beautiful.

  • a lot of COIL...agree with diamantefolgore

  • Simplier than their other work. That's why it's the only song from Oversteps i get.

  • This is amongst the most pure music I have ever heard.

  • This is by far one of the most inspirational tracks ever! A few days ago I had it running through my head all day, and man I just felt so complete in a way. I didn't know that Autechre were also some of the best therapists around. This track is pure genius, no wait I meant DEVINE!!!!

  • this makes me want to go pick up the album right now

  • beautifull to pain...................

  • CONSCIENCE!!!!!!!

  • I think this one is my fav out of all by Autechre

  • That ' s a verry innovative track. First earing is the best, especially when this weird sound appear. I highly suspect they used a PLL for this (??). Anyway Autechre is back and this time it 's for good.

  • @popitem phase-locked loop??? how?

  • @new01 the sound you ear at 1:10 sounds to me like "volatile" PLL for the little i know are tracking sound sequence but the result is not totally accurate, wich after some more treatment may give this kind of strange melodies.

  • If you like this you might like Seven Ark and all the awesome shit he does.

  • thanks for the tip, I never hered of Seven Ark but I had a few second listen to a random track of them and i get what your saying. worth getting into.

  • I realy use youtube these days just to get to know new bands/musical projects. the kind of stuff that i love is not the most popular. jumping from youtube clip to youtube clip these are a few bands that i got to know and have good stuff: subheim - Howl

and Dub pistols -speed of light. Both different then this and from each other. but dreamy the way i like it.

  • this is amazing, no one sounds like this!!!

  • This is breathtaking. For me the aesthetic is reminiscent of Vi Scose Poise and Drane 2. It is incredibly moving. I can imagine that most incredible Comme Des Garcons runway show happening to this music.

  • there is a lot of Coil there

  • @diamantefolgore listen to autechre backwards newest first and so on starts to make sense... like waking up...

  • @diamantefolgore there is even more NIN there by far... Trent should listen to this remember if he can remember at all

  • So good! It's like the less electronic half of Drukqs.

  • @TheSchimmi

Indeed, it reminds me of Jynthwethyk (Ylow) and Strotha Tyne off of that album.

  • what a treat

  • If you are knowingly quoting from the Boards of Canada unreleased live track, that's worth more than a thumbs up

  • haha how superbly precise ~! yes unconsciously thats where the quote comes from. the end of a 11min journey

  • It really sounds like a trashed anthem from Jan Hammer! Really cool

  • This track makes me want to touch myself..not really, but that would be cool and creepy at the same time

  • If you can get the Autechre Breezeblock set its great. Wendy Carlos, Tod Dockstader, A Clockwork Orange OST, Beefheart, its like the national anthem of space.

  • Alien royalty. That's what this reminds me of.

    Especially 1:08 and on.

  • Haha yeah. Check out the autechre breezeblock set its all Wendy Carlos and Tod Dockstader mixed into the national anthem of space.

  • @bogandokendasai What?

  • love it, absolutely love it.

the way you get mesmerized by the interweaving of melodies and the nonexistence of concrete (explicit) rhythm, leaving all that to the melodies and their progression...

great track from an amazing album :)

  • @josepequito12 Yes, it's in a very plain 4/4 time, although I love the song.

  • @josepequito12

agree completely... they came back to music full of emotions after fear/exepriements period (confield thru draft) - imo this album is closest to lp5 masterpiece and may be "overstepping" it

  • @josepequito12 ..hmm, this is a very evident 4/4 beat.. Sure, the guys sometimes use some other time signatures, but this is a plain simple and very square track (rythmycally talking).

  • @ptrLeGrand аha and evident classical counterpoint for 3 voices

  • @ptrLeGrand and obvious evident classical counterpoint for 3 voices

  • @ptrLeGrand Haha, thank you. I'm glad someone else recognizes that just because there isn't a bass and snare drum present doesn't mean there isn't a rhythm at work.

  • This is my favorite track on Oversteps right now. I don't think I've heard these guys make a track before quite like this one.

  • @bopomofo Girls might even like this one

  • You see? Booth and Brown are tryin' to impress the ladies now, lol

  • Comment removed

  • @bopomofo This is the track that I keep going back to. Love it, love that the boys are back home.

  • so pleased with what ive heard so far from Oversteps. The last two albums (especialy Quaristice) were dissapointing for me and this is a welcome return to form. Can't wait to hear the full album.

  • The best track.....

  • The best song.........

  • fantastic track.

  • An 80's power ballad sang by an orchestra of dolphins

  • Comment removed

  • @AnalFuckingCow why is that dumb...it's funny..it is a joke..you people and your criticisms....you take this way tooo seriouslly

  • @CammieSpectrum You were proud of that well refined comment weren't you..you thought thats a uniquely absurd and strangely evocative enough a description to be top rated...but no, not even one thumbs up. You were shocked and brooded over how no one acknowledged the "awesomeness" of that comment, you would check back time and time again...but no. Well there you go thumbs up, I acknowledge the awesomeness...lol

  • @kenrben I though up that power ballad/dolphin description. because that is what it sounded like that to me. Doesn't it sorta sound like that? I also thought it was a good description for sending this Autechre song to girls that i know to get them to listen to it...since it's one of the most girl friendlly Autechre songs ever and I like girls. :) but no girls like Autechre :( sorry, my true motives exposed.

  • @CammieSpectrum

holy shit it does sound like a dolphin power-ballad

  • The duration reminds me of another epic Autechre track.

    :D

  • 5 minutes? dude, try the 18 minutes of sublimit.

  • Uhhh.... What!?

I was talking about "444" by Autechre.

  • my bad! :-) not familiar with incunabula yet.

  • No prob. I know Sublimit, but what were you talking about when you said "5 minutes?".

Is there a song like that from Autechre?

    Sorry I'm just confused :P

Btw, you're probably way more familiar with Untilted than I am.

  • 5 minute was just me rounding the length of this track. check out untilted, it's an amazing, amazing piece of art.

  • I will. :D

I've only heard a few tracks from it.

I'll listen to the whole thing though.

    Peace.

  • You'd better check out Amber if you ask me, if you don't like Amber, but do like Untitled, you'd better check Confield.

  • @Anon1696 I think he just was equating the meanign of the world 'epic' with the length of track being really long

  • Oooooh thank you. Now I get it. xD

Maybe I shouldn't be using 'epic' in that way.
