John5:28 Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when ALL who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out. Those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. It says ALL there..
@mvmof2 There are two resurrections mentioned in John 5:28-29, the resurrection of life & the resurrection of damnation.
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,& shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; & they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."
In Luke 14:14, Jesus calls the first resurrection the resurrection of the just.
@boltingpuppies Revelation 20 and 1 Corinthians 15 distinguish further between the two resurrections of mankind. Revelation 20 calls resurrection (of the saints/just) the *first* resurrection. Those in the first resurrection are called blessed and holy and are assured that the second death/*lake of fire* has no power over them (v4-6). A little over 1000 years later, those raised later at the Great White Throne Judgement, not found in the Book of Life are cast into the *lake of fire* (v11-15).
@boltingpuppies thank you very much and answering all the questions I had today. I feel I have learned something new today. One last question I have. Is that if we are raised on the last day, and the nonbelivers are raised awhile later, what is happening to them and the ones that don't beileve and are still alive at His coming at the time of our resurrection, and while he is dealing with us and having his reign with us. Thanks
@mvmof2 At the time Jesus was on earth, He spoke of two men, referred to as Lazarus and the Rich man. One was counted righteous, the other was counted unrighteous. We see the righteous man, Lazarus, in a place of comfort and we see the un-named Rich man *in the flame* and very conscience. Jesus told this story prior to His death and resurrection as if it had already happened in the past. Jesus would not confuse us, this is a true story that also involves father Abraham. (Luke 16) >
2) In the story, the Rich man in the flame can feel, see, hear, reason and talk. He cannot go where Abraham and Lazarus are and Abraham and Lazarus cannot go where he is (in the flame). In the Revelation we see believers/martyrs, who have died prior to Christ's 2nd coming being located in a place called 'under the altar' (Rev 6:9-11).They too are conscience, talking, reasoning, & can even wear a white robe. We seem to go immediately to our holding place, one or the other.>
3) At the Great White Throne judgement, Death and Hades (realm of the dead, the grave) will give up their dead (meaning they are a holding place for the dead and hand over the dead people in them) in order for the dead/non righteous to be judged. The dead are then judged according to their deeds. After that both Death & Hades are thrown into the lake of fire, along with all the people who had been in them, whose names were not found in the book of life. This is the 2nd Death.
4) That can be found in Rev 20. So when we die, we either go to be with the Lord who is our life /under the altar OR we go to Death/Hades.
We are conscience both places.
One has flame the other has comfort. While we all die physically to get to one of these two places, those who are righteous are raised to life in the first resurrection while those who are unrighteous are raised to damnation and die a second death called the lake of fire.
5) Oh, also to answer your question about those living non-believers at Christ's coming, the goats. Jesus tells them to depart from Him into eternal punishment (Matthew 25:41 and 46) that was prepared for the Devil and his angels. We see where the Devil goes for his eternal punishment in Revelation 20:10, the lake of fire and brimstone. We also read about this place and who is there in Revelation 14:9-13. Hope this all helps. Blessing in our Savior.
Like some of the fellow believers have already stated. Jesus says 4 times in John 6 that he will raise us up on the LAST DAY. If Jesus says something 4 times in one chapter I think it is very important. How many Last Days are there if there are different resurrections. I have always believed that there will be one resurrection.
Yes, Jesus said He will raise *believers* on the last day in John 6.
"that of *all which he hath given me* I should lose nothing, but should raise *it* up again at the last day." "that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise *him* up at the last day." "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise *him* up at the last day." cont.
After Christ cleanses the Temple He will rule and reign from Jerusalem for 1000 years. At the end of the 1000 years Satan will be loosed for a short season and then thrown into the Lake of Fire, which is the second death. After that there will be a New Heaven and New Earth . The New Jerusalem will descend from God and we will live forever in His presence.
Stop twisting Scripture to fit your agenda. ONLY believers will hear and see Christ at the Rapture when the dead and living believers will meet the Lord in the air! After that the Tribulation will take place on Earth while the Marriage Supper of the Lamb takes place in Heaven. At the end of the Tribulation Christ will return to EARTH to the Mount of Olives and they walk across the valley and enter into the Temple. He will cleanse the Temple and purify it from the defiling of the anti_Christ .
@ljackso 1Thessalonians 4 says the dead in Christ will rise first and that we will in no-way precede (go before) them. The dead must rise *first*. By studying resurrection timing we learn rapture (gathering of the living) timing. The dead in Christ must rise *first*. 1Corinthians 15 shows the first resurrection of believers taking place *at* Christ's coming. Revelation 20 says the *FIRST* resurrection includes those who do not take the mark of the beast or worship his image. Yah bless.
@boltingpuppies: The Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are two separate events. The Rapture is when Christ returns (in the clouds) for His Church. YES, the "dead in Christ" will rise FIRST then we who ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN WILL BE CHANGED, in a moment in the twinkling of an eye. This is because flesh and blood cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. It is time for the marriage supper of the Lamb to take place in Heaven. ALL believers will be there, both those who died in Christ and believers.
@ljackso O.K., you agree the resurrection takes place *first*, before anyone is changed. You also agree that the resurrection takes place at Christ's coming. We are agreed on these two points.
Revelation 20 says the *first* resurrection includes people who are beheaded for not taking the mark of the beast or worshipping his image--meaning they have to be alive during this time. This is the *first* resurrection. Paul says the living will not be caught up before the resurrection.
The Tribulation will take place on Earth while the marriage supper of the Lamb takes place in Heaven. At the appointed time Christ, along with His Saints (you and I) will return to Earth to set up His Kingdom and He will rule and reign for 1000 years from the Temple in Jerusalem. This happens at the end of the tribulation. I do NOT believe that the Bride of Christ (believers) will go through the Great Tribulation. God bless and Maranatha!
@ljackso There is no scripture saying the marriage supper of the Lamb takes place *in heaven*. There is a verse in Isaiah (25:6) indicating it takes place on the earth on Mount Zion. Also we read in Revelation that the marriage supper comes when Babylon the Great is destroyed (Revelation 19:1-9). Babylon the Great is destroyed at the *end* of the tribulation at the 7th bowl of wrath (Revelation 16:17-19).
The Seventh Bowl is poured out>>Babylon the Great is destroyed>>Marriage Wedding Supper
@ljackso We are also agreed on the timing of the 1000 year reign on earth. We do agree on many things. God bless and Maranantha to you too!! Even so COME Lord Jesus!!
@boltingpuppies; It is not important if I am correct on all things, just one and that Yeshua is coming soon. Hope we can see each other in Heaven. God bless.
1)Blessings. A parallel passage to Revelation 20:4-6 is by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:20-26, where we see that Christ was the First Fruits of the resurrection, meaning the very first to be resurrected into a resurrection body. The next to be raised are those who BELONG to Christ AT His coming (which include the tribulation martyrs of Revelation 20--they are in this FIRST resurrection of mankind. The next resurrection/last resurrection takes place AFTER Christ has reigned w/ these>
2) tribulation martyrs and all other believers (those in Christ at His coming) for the 1000 years on the earth. Both passages show that Christ must reign UNTIL He has put all enemies under his feet and the last enemy is death. When we keep reading Revelation 20 we see that death is destroyed after the 1000 years reign. After the 1000 year reign, the final resurrection takes place, this resurrection will include those who were NOT Christ's at His coming as well as those who die>
Nice work sister. To avoid Babylonian style confusion we should always speak of a Resurrection-Rapture. It seems our dispensationalist theologians decided to put a hatchet in there and divide them. They chopped the Rapture off its Resurrection moorings. They knew that Christians would know that the Resurrection is late. (See Rev. 20 and the reference to the FIRST RESURRECTION. Jesus tells us four times in John 6 that He will raise His Elect covenant people up on the Last Day of this age.
Amen to that! We should be saying Resurrection-Rapture since they are the same event with the Resurrection happening first. Yes, Jesus through John is very clear in Revelation 20 about who is in the very First resurrection. He even said this was the First resurrection twice. You're right, Jesus said four times He would raise us up on the last day!
Excellent! It's so plain it's hard to understand how anyone can''t see it. Only explaination is that the deceived has chosen to believe what the flesh wants to hear. One thing to add is that these deceived can not read simple words like that the Antichrist must be revealed FIRST. This is Satan's motive. Because the pre-tribbers believe they must be gone before Antichrist 'can be revealed' there is no way they can recognize him. Once they realize the Truth they WILL fall from the Faith.

Good presentation,
I have been studying some of these things, and was wondering what is your view on the martyrs from the tribulation being raised after Armageddon?
(Revelation 20:4-6)
Is this a separate resurrection? Why would it referred to as the first?
Are there a total of three since the unrighteous are gathered together later for the great white throne judgment?
Thanks!

Also, here is a video I put together with these resurrection passages. I hope it is edifying and not too confusing! Yeshua bless you in your studies.
