Dude you should really check your Lord of The Rings lore. Arnor was not the "men faction" before Lord of the Rings. Gondor actually existed. They were two different kingdoms. The Battle of the Last Alliance was also not in front of Mount Doom, but in Dagorlad.

@warwolf116 Partly Wrong. Elendil and his sons founded Arnor and Gondor in 3320 in the Second Age, 1 year after the Numeror fell by the betrayal of Sauron.

The Last Alliance takes place in 3430 of the Second Age. The Numenor was destroyed before this battle took place. You are right that most of these soldiers are from Numenor. However, officially they are from Arnor and Gondor.

did you know that in actual lord of the rings lore (from the books) gil galad (the elven high general) and elendil (the king and father of isildor who wielded narsil, now known as anduril) killed sauron first? sauron and those 2 guys killed each other, then isildor cut the ring from saurons corpse. so in lore, the only thing isildor is known for is being the asshole who didnt destroy the ring lol. but i kinda like the movies depiction of what happened there better.

The great battle between the last Alliance and Saurons Army was on the Dagorlad, in front of the black gate, that didn't exist at that time, because it was build later from Gondor to keep the creatures of Mordor in Mordor.

After the last alliance had win this great battle, they sieged Barad-Dur for 7 years, before Sauron came out.

@F1zzzy90 arnor is not out of the game, is the "evolution" of free peoples of eriador. You must comply the requirements:

-Aragorn must be alive

-Annuminas must be your capital

-Have built in Annuminas the "House of Kings" (32.000 gold and Large City)

-Allied with Gondor

-Have under control territories of the old Arnor (explained in the item of Aragorn "Elendilmir")

and then you can restore the kingdomg of Arnor

The Orcs of Gundabad came from the northern most mountain of the Misty Mountains. In the second age, they made an Alliance with the Witch King and helped him destroy the Kingdom of Arnor. In TATW, they should have given the Orcs of Gundabad Snow Trolls and Hill Trolls.

@akSeR2010 Depends on what you play...for skirmishes then no I wouldnt wait. If you want to do the campaign then I would wait because 3.0 will not be compatable. On the other hand if you just want to get the mechanics down and are okay with losing your save then I wouldn't wait another day :)

Kingdom of Arnor dose come back in that world in the fourth age. It is not the same size do to the the little people that frodo people. that why they are not big but it dose come back.

Having played Total War Third Age, I would say that ballistas/lucky catipults are the fastest way to take down Sauron. If placed correctly, you should need no more then 2-4 squads of ballistas to kill off Sauron. This ballista strategy also works for the nazgaul as well if i remember correctly. BTW i think personally Sauron cannot loose in a fight VS standard infantry/cavalry for i have once done an experement where I pitted 1 Sauron VS 4+ Rohan Factions loaded with Heavy and Light Cavalry units

@heroicfailures to unlock arnor in custom battle : download the newest version of tatw (2.1) and for the campaign you must do something to transform eriador into arnor (dont know what exactly never played eriador)

i fought sauron vs the balrog. sauron had three uruk units, and the balrog had heavy goblin infantry. sauron killed the balrog but most of the time they just ran in a circle.
