That just shows that Petro canada didnt really make a 5w30 oil. It's more like 0w30, the viscosity goes down on the cold side too even though they lower the warm vicosity :D
It should be almost the same at -25 for every 5wXX oil.
I'm using Castrol Magnatec 5w40 and it's hard to read the oil level sometimes because the oil really seems to be magnetic and it doesnt want to stay in the same place of the dipstick for a while :D
Do it again, but have the oil flowing through a small (~5mm?) hole in a piece of card placed halfway down the jar with the edges sealed... that'll be more indicative of what it has to do inside the engine, and similar to how the stuff is actually lab-tested.
All the same having watched this, I think I'll be buying 5w30 from now on rather than 10w40... we may not get -25'c winters here, but i've seen -12'c briefly on my dash thermometer last year...
@TahreyUK here in canada, i managed to get to -50 without the wind chill, i drive a standard transmission car, and the oil in the tranny was so thick i had to use my bully dog to raise the high idle so letting the clutch out didnt stall it
Seems as tho the oils on the left were flowing best. Course I'm a southern American so I dont know what oils ur using. Maybe the PC stands for Petro Canada? Notsure but that 0w-20 and 30 flows best in cold air.
10w 60 давай... у меня в -30 завелась...
