  • he even got an iphone..

  • does it come with a headphone jack???

  • Can you use this display with apple power mac ?

    - does it have power video-in port ?

because the apple imac does not have it , i hope this does.

  • That's a little bigger than 24" dude.

  • lol i have the same ringtone! haha i though mine was ringing during video! xd

  • THE NEW 24".......

  • 3:03 EPIC FAIL!!!!

  • Hi i was wondering how the audio is transfer from the laptop to the screen, i couldnt see any audio cables running from both devices.

    thx

  • why the FUCK did you buy the macbook air

  • I think MacBook Air will get a revamp soon... well, here's hoping!

It would be great if the Air had the sleek design of the Pro's with a black bezel and cost under £999 or $1200...

  • haha the handle fell off

  • so? what would you use this for? can it play movies get internet download software? please reply so confused

  • ugh macbook air is the worst thing ever made i would rather buy a pc!!

  • Dont take this the wrong way but, Why on earth would anyone need one of these things? Do you really need 2 screens for one computer?

  • @FullSolo 2 screens make the work flow incredibly easier for people involved in music production, film scoring, and computer graphics, but it's overkill for everyone else.

  • @jazzmatik No doubt, I hear it can make you like 30% or more productive. I myself have 2 24" ACER monitors, and notice I can accomplish more with them than the average user could. Plus I don't feel as stressed as I used to when I was trying to juggle applications on a single monitor.

  • The only reason I would ever ever buy a Macbook Air is if I have money to blow or If i travel a lot.

  • i'm using this amazing screen. it is even better if it can rotated 90 degrees to portrait mode, instead of landscape. This feature is useful for long documents and the viewing of elongated picture in bigger size.

em.., apple should thick about redesign the next model.

  • i wish the imac looked like that

  • because macs pwn.

  • this sucks. really. it has a 14ms response time. my monitor is 2ms and it costs so much

  • @mm6568 Response time isn't really what you look at when you get this kind of monitor. It's not a gaming screen. Get a CRT if that's what you need.

  • ahaha apple everywhere! iphone, displays laptops :D

  • can i use this as a normal computer monitor for a PC?

  • @2122aaor yeah you can now, they made an adapter thats like dvi to mini display port its a bit of money but this is a sick monitor, ive used it before and its really nice.

Search Like Gefen DVI to Mini Display port adapter, i would post a link but youtube wont let me. Apple has it check it out

  • wooooooow i am gonna buy this apple led cinema display

    no matter what

  • Lol I thought the fedex package was MacBookair it was so thin

  • can the cinema display be a desktop on its own

  • no u need a mac mini or macbook or u can use it as another display for your imac

  • what do your guys think i should get this or a imac ? i have a macbook pro 13 inch naw

  • get the imac, a couple hundred dollars more and you have a graet display and a great computer

  • Can u hook the 30 inch one to a mac pro?

  • Trying to find a monitor that had 1920x1200 res with LED & is as clear as the Cinema Display isnt as easy as I thought it would be. Plus having the built in iSight w/ microphone has made it even more appealing to me as well. I debated buying 6 Samsungs for the price that i could buy 3 of these but in the end, the clarity and quality wasn't there. I love the glass front, the LED's keep the heat way down compared to my dual 30" LCD Cinema Displays which could heat my whole studio by themselves.

  • How do they justify the cost of this thing though? There are displays of equal capability that cost a heck of a lot less than this.

  • Name one.

The only 24" display even close to this one is NEC and they cost as much or more.

Do some research before your shoot off your mouth about things you don't understand.

  • @Jarhead46

Dude fuck you, There are tons of LED displays out there.. I doubt you have seen each and every single display side by side with the Cinema display.. Your just talking shit.. You've been brainwashed by those Apple ads.. FACT: everything apple sells is overpriced..

  • you are a fucking ignorant.. fuck off if you don't know shit.. show me WHICH COMPANY sell a monitor with H-IPS PANEL (no fucking cheap and crappy tn panel).. and led backlit at the same time.. WHO ??? tell me!.. or maybe you are so fucking dumb ignorant that you don't know that TN is a cheap piece of shit and IPS is much more expensive huh?

  • @migeru29

what the hell, your posts don't make any sense? are you taking apples side??

  • The Asus 24" VW246H. It's less than half the price of the Apple, with full HDMI connections and full 1080p. The response time is also only 2ms, compared to the Apple's 14ms on this monitor. Would you like me to name another?

  • hey dude.. you simply are a fucking ignorant and when you write you look dumb and ridiculous.. you look better quietly.. you should not write because you are dumb and ignorant you get it? now if you want to learn.. go ahead and look the difference of the fucking cheap and crappy tn panel (which the asus use) and the supreme h-ips panel that the led cinema display use. and then come to me and accept your ignorance

  • because you are a fucking ignorant piece of shit that know nothing.. that's why.. you don't even know that an h-ips panel cost 3 times more than your cheap and crappy TN piece of shit panel..

  • You've just agreed to my point. HIPS is a waste of time. A HIPS monitor costs multiple times that of a "normal" monitor, and for absolutely no distinguishable benefit. Perhaps if you're a photographer viewing other photographer's photos, you could make use of one. Other than that, there's no practical benefits to the technology.

  • I did know that though, and I know that the difference between the two is negligible. There's no point in superior theoretical improvements in image quality if there's no practical benefit. You just told me that the HIPS panel costs 3 times as much, thus conceding my point that it's a waste of money and a rip-off. I can tell English isn't your first language, but that's no excuse for such nonsensical postings on here.

  • where is the no sense ? im still waiting for you to indicate where is the no sense.. you are the one with no sense here.. saying it cost 3 times more doesn't mean i'm saying is a waste of money.. dont be an idiot.. that's what you want to believe.. actually i just pay $1150 for the new dell u2711.. and i don't think is a waste of money.. this monitor its simply supreme to anything else.. and i can tell english is the only language you can speak and understand

  • You only seem to understand half of what I'm saying. And you frivolously insult people on both sides of the debate. Yes, aside from programming languages, English is the only language I know and need (not that you knew that, you just guessed). And I'm saying that the Apple monitor costs 3 times that of monitors that provide a superior image. Regardless of the technical specifications, there are better monitors out there for much less.

  • well that's a huge statement.. show me which monitor have superior supreme that cost 3 times less than this.. the cheaper IPS i know are very old.. they use i think s-ips which is inferior to h-ips.. and this one have led backlite.. you can't get this for a lower price all together.. i speak english, portuguese, italian, spanish and french.

  • @migeru29

Like i said before you can get a quality IPS panel for half the price.. your the idiot.. an IPS panel is expensive you can get a DELL IPS for half the price of a cinema display..

  • Lol Don't forget, this has a webcam and a couple of USB ports installed in it too! So it's worth the £300 or so extra!

  • huh really? Show me right now an 27 inch IPS panel monitor that's cheaper than this... right now... I will buy it right now. I'm waiting.

  • everyone knows that this monitor is beyond full HD

    HD is 1920 by 1080

    this is 1920 by 1200

plus it has a built in iSight.

Also a cord that charges your mac, gives you the camera, and the display all in one cable. It even has a 4 port USB hub built in.

  • As beautiful as it is, its a little over double the price of a Samsung/LG 24" LED Monitor.. =O

  • It is a little over double the price of a crappy Samsung LG monitor that is nowhere near the quality of this display.

  • keep showing your fucking ignorance.. you are just another dumbfuck apple fan that thinks apple company actually create this monitor.. what a fucking idiot lol.. now here is a lil info for your ignorance: Apple buy the LG panels for all their monitors (including the IMACS)

    poor looser

  • you can plug an xbox into this with a vga cable right?

  • Yeah it's really awesome and also a waste of money. You can get one with the same size for half the price.

The Apple logo is worth gold...

  • @TiLeNpWneD

platinum in my opinion if you look at the pricetags.

  • delicate like a bison! LOOOOL

  • LOL, you broke the handle

  • Will this monitor work on a PC?

  • yeah

  • No it is illegal unless you bootcamp your pc

  • you just flushed a grand down the toilet ..

  • is this work on pc ?

  • Guys, Macbook Air is not for someone who wants to get his first PC.. It's for someone who has a powerful PC and wants a light and small laptop to carry wherever he goes.. Not for professional editors or something.. It's not for "heavy" programs.. It's for Internet use, etc..

  • MacBook Air - stupid specs for stupid people... and I am a fanboy!

  • that comment DID NOT make you look stupid

  • ya. i agree air sux. no slot drive, small mem, and HOLY CRAP_ very fragile

  • I'm a huge Apple fan and I can't stand the Air!!!!!

  • i have one and everybody says that they are bad but they are ok

  • They are rubbish compared to cheaper monitors. The newest 24"cinema display has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 14ms responses time and it cost 635 pounds.

My 24" has a 40000:1 contrast ratio and a 2ms response time an it cost 165 pounds new. and it has HDMI.( i don't know it the cinema display has HDMI but i can only assume it dose not)

This products are as huge ass ripp-off.

  • The Apple Cinema Displays are LED backlit and use much better technology than other standard displays. They are brighter and its colors are more vibrant. Put a Cinema Display next to any other external monitor and it will blow it away!!

  • Also, the miniDisplayPort technology is even better than HDMI, which it does not have.

  • @CrunchyBeats

    @CrunchyBeats

So? The Air is for a niche market, and for that kind of consumers its a great product. If you are looking for a gaming laptop, or your using it as your main laptop just don't buy it. Apple never said it would be a laptop for all day use.

  • @CrunchyBeats I totally agree!

  • @CrunchyBeats

He connects his apple macbook air to his apple 24" cinema display and just as you think it can't get any better, his apple iphone begins to ring...

  • does it work wiht hp

  • sure but you need a vga to minidisplayport cable

  • Hmmm. I think u take the setence "Everything Mac" too litteraly. But thats awsome! Its what the viewers want! Keep up :)

  • Terrible quality of footage. It's almost impossible to see anything on the cinema display you're actually referring to.

  • Macbook air is a total ripoff.

  • @Nem92 why

  • @Nem92 well if people want it, what can you do about it? value is in the eyes of the beholder.

  • looks like an imac

  • you are totally blind then.. you should check your eyes with a doctor.. because the imac is all silver and this is all black

  • what are the specs on that macbook air

  • How long is the mini dv cable? Everyone says it's too short.

  • 1 metre

  • Are the speakers good? At least on par with current Macbooks?

  • Comment removed

  • they are fantastic better than the new imacs

  • you can attach to mac minis and mac pros

  • do you need one of the new mac laptops to use the internet and everything? i mean do you even need a laptop to make the internet work???

  • yeah, but if in ur office u have this screen, and then leave it there when u travel, there u have the portability....

  • ...

  • dude, what is that inside of the envelope??

  • if you wanted to use it with another macs without mini display port u could use the adapter to vga or dvi

  • Wrong.

  • uh sorry it was a question. forgot to put the ? mark.

  • can this just be a monitor? does it have to be extra screen room for the macbook? please answer!

  • What do you mean? It is acting as a monitor. If you mean for it to be the default monitor with the dock and menubar on it, you just have to set that in system preferences on your mac.

  • Yes it can

  • yes it is called "Mirror Image" in SP

  • You must not know how displays like this work. This thing uses an IPS panel with an LED backlight, and good luck finding a monitor with all that plus superb color, resolution, and design, for anything cheaper than this. You won't find it. You get what you pay for.

  • wait can u just hook up a apple wireless keyboard and mouse and use it like that or do u have to connect it to a laptop?

    someone please reply!

  • it isnt a desktop so no, you need a laptop to use it also you need a laptop that has the mini display port on it because thats how the display works the only displays that have there ports are apple so it gets expensive. if you need more info, you can always go to the apple website. good luck!!!

  • can u hook up a mac mini to it and it will work or no?

  • yes you can but it needs to be a mac mini with the mini display port in it. But i think i might be wrong because i thought the LED displays were for the laptops. go to the apple website and check because there are three plugs on the display that you need to plug into the computer, the magsafe (only laptops have), the mini displsy port, and a USB. Good luck, again!

  • wait...i just watched ur set-up video and u have a macbook pro...u can use that its the new one with all of the necessary ports.

  • but would it be dual screen or a whole different computer?

  • oh, i see what you mean. It would be a duel screen with the macbook rpo. But also, you could make it into desktop mode and make it just the moniter and have ur laptop closed. I hope this answers ur questions.

  • thanks soo much!!!

  • actually u can use it as a desktop monitor for the new mac pro

  • Glossy monitors have much better color than matte ones. Take it from a designer like myself who hasn't upgraded from CRT.

  • Yes you can it's called desktop mode.

  • if u close the notebook will u still be able to use the displaay??

  • yes

  • to use it with any other apple computer, or and computer that uses mini display ports.

  • or because your like me and need it for graphic designing/music producing.

  • mostly mac pro and mac mini

  • Good question.

  • well is there somthing? because i hate matt screens.... and i dont find nice screens exept of apples...

  • because is the only monitor with h-ips panel (not your fucking cheap and crappy monitor with tn panel).. and because it's led backlite

  • so you have a macbook air, iphone 3g, 24" lcd cinema display! cool!

  • i have a aluminum macbook ,iphone 3G, 24 inch imac and and old macbook pro

  • if a bay a mini dvi to dvi adoptor then would it work with the old macbook pro?plz answer !!!!

  • no.

  • The best piece of advice I can give you is NEVER, try and shortcut Apple Monitor's when it comes to conversion or adaptor. Its always best to just suck it up and spend the money. Believe me, they purposely designed these things to work with their interfaces only.

  • This monitor can only be use on a Mac, right? :(

  • well, you can use it only with the macbooks which have the mini display port...it cant be use on a imac or a mac pro

  • Wish I knew how to become part of Apple's PR and Marketing... I'd love to review stuff but I need to buy it :(

  • This may seem a dumb question but can these be used with the imac

  • nope

  • I've seen this guy unbox other things, and is it just me, or does he seen really forceful when opening boxes. He seems like he either has rehearsed it, or he doesn't give a shit about the actual product he's unboxing

  • My thoughts exactly!

  • no hes just not like all the other youtube unboxers who take like 20 fuckin mins to open a box...like i dont even use a knife to cut the tape...it can be done by hand

  • lol, yea guess ur right, but don't u agree that he almost unboxes a little too fast

  • I was cringing when he was forcing the plugs into the MacBook Air :P

  • NOT

  • yes it is, u pay 899$ for a LED screen that works only for the new macbook? huh? wtf? i can buy an 32' FULLHD LCD SCREEN with that price and work for tv, computers and anything :)

  • yes you can buy a 32 HDTV.. with crappy and cheap tn panel.. NEVER the supreme H-IPS panel.. and if you don't know about this.. well inform yourself and learn about panels and why H-IPS is much more expensive than TN panel

  • So even though my MacBook runs at 1200x800, when I plug it into this moniter I can use 1900x1200 resolution? This is the deciding factor for me on whether or not I will purchase the new MacBook and a Cinema Display.

  • yes, you can use the maximum resolution that the display has. i could swear, its gonna look stunning

  • hey Vinnie do you keep all this stuff??

  • Since this is just for the Macbooks, what is the largest display for the iMac?

  • is the led cinema display a desktop imac or is it just a display for the macbook?

  • its just the display for the new macbooks

  • why are slashgear unboxings always crap?

  • Please can you help me? I'd like to buy the 24" LED Display....but can i connect an Xbox360 with it?

    Thanks

  • No, it uses a mini-display port, not a VGA one(even then, you'd have to get a cable). Maybe, if you got a Mini-display-vga, and then a vga-hdmi/avi. I'm not sure, but I doubt you could.

    EMZ=]

  • Thanks..really!

  • No problem :). I'd recommend just double checking with someone on Apple's online chat support on their website, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to on a desktop which has no mini display port.

    EMZ=]

  • do not say what you know shit about it.. you can play xbox, ps3 etc with an hdmi to mini displayport converter

  • can you hook this up to an imac to use dual programs?

  • you can not.

  • id be able to connect this to my 20inch aluminum imac right?

  • Nope, the current iMacs do not have a mini display port unlike the new notebooks.

  • yes they do steve jobs sed at the keynote that now all current mac products have it.....even the mac mini

  • He never said that. I'm pretty sure he mentoned adaptors being released for the older Macs to use this Display.

  • can you turn off the laptop's display, connect it to the display and use the display just as if it were a computer?

  • Thats what i wanted to do on my imac but for some reason you cant. you can make it the very dimmest and it will be hard to see

  • yes you can turn off your laptops display by shuting the lid and just use the led cinema display

  • Will this work with the old MacBook, or Mac Pro?

  • no because it needs the new mini display port.

  • i have a question: For the Apple 24-inch LED Cinema Display,it always says that i will go perfectly with your new mac book pro, air...... but will it also work for the old mac book the 13inch one?

    thz.

  • no this is because the new led display uses mini display port connecter, and this is new to only the new macbook's

  • thank you!

  • I really want one! Will there be any way to connect this to the last macbook pro without the mini display port? Do the speakers on the display work through the mini display port or the usb?

  • they work through usb

  • How is the glare? Very noticable reflections or okay?

  • i envy you sooooooooo much....

  • looks like an imac :)

seems pretty good, but since i dont have a macbook it would be useless.

  • before u take the wrap off it looked like an imac
