I used to work as a waitress in Alice's Restaurant and also help pump gas in the gas station back in 1968-69. It was a lot of fun. I remember when Alice had a pool table inside the restaurant and had lots of party's. The food today is still great.
Even though I don't live close to it, I will always come visit as much as possible.

Did you end up finding it? It is on the edge of San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties--in Woodside, CA--along the ridgeline of the Santa Cruz Mtns--obviously beautiful surrounded by all those trees! AND, the food is DELICIOUS, too!
....except that the Alice's restaurant that Arlo sings about is in Conneticut or Vermont. I know this place well. I use to ride out and meet people here to ride around, back out 84 or over to La Honda or Pescadero or out and down HWY 1....great location.
HMMM--good question! I would say American cuisine--They serve BIG hearty breakfasts! People who ride motorcycles, horses, and cars ALL like to stop here on weekends! Good location! Lots of GOOD food :)
