i feel really sad for mary ,and all the money she lost .i have also encounterd nigerians using the same cell numbers +44 saying they are from the uk, but it would be advisable that when they say they are from the uk or usa they should learn what the accents are like, A nigerian speaking english , sounds like an African accent 100% i knew straight away they were scammers when they mention western union also , a dead give away of a scam.Any one who offers you a gift it will be a scam .

@hornerm5 They could always roam with a phone bought from UK to give the +44 number - a friend lost his phone to Nigerian scammers on eBay so they have (or had) a supply of such devices. Some mobile operators exclude Nigeria from roaming services precisely to cut down on frauds like this.
