  • muy bello tema!!!

    beauty!!!

    shön!!!

  • I wonder why he does the G2 ending? Miller can drop down to F1 at least.

  • well, there go my laptop speakers...

  • Ммм... Вот бы узнать название сей песни на русском языке =)

  • @Quatarsys Эту песню написал П. Г. Чесноков. Название песни "Не отвержи мене во время старости". Песня написана на словянском языке.

  • is that zeus? hah

  • 2:45 Bb1.

Sorry, a pitch detector is more accurate than anyone's ears.

  • @Gandalf930 not true...

  • @Gidenkidenk

    True, true.

  • @Gandalf930 say that to the old man who tunes your 8va A without a tuner

  • @Gidenkidenk

And the tuner will show how much did he tune it off'-pitch.

  • @Gandalf930 How old are you? 15? Age of technology is not the way to go.

  • @Gidenkidenk

I'm not 15, but you'd fail either way because age has nothing to do with the case. Using argumentum ad personam is not the way to go. Leave it, you are not right and you better act like a smart man would and admit it instead of sticking to your fallacies. Precise methods of sound analysis are always more accurate than anyone's ears. And it's in no way possible that a good tuner would mistake an Ab1 for Bb1. Apart from that, you are pretensious, and that's a very bad feature.

  • @Gandalf930 its because of people like you that the world has gone contemporary, forgetful of the classics, and of things spiritual

  • Oh yeah? Because you can't accept the truth I told you?

    Or you're just a troll.

  • It is a C2, end of discussion. 2:45 is an Ab1.

  • @gudpeder Bb1 at 2:45 no ?

  • @auzaiph You're right, my mistake.

  • Владимир, для меня это песнопение, как нельзя актуально ! В мои преклонные годы ! Одна надежда на бога !

  • my chest voice only goes to d# , man, need to practice

is there a risk of going too low while your still young?

  • @Gidenkidenk I sympathize with you. I actually used to be able to sing this, low C and all. But I lost the C and the D, mostly, and so mine goes to D#2 as well.

  • @Sedraen Well, the first portion, the solo, at least.

  • @Sedraen Are you sure he's only singing C2? Sounds more like a C1 to me.

  • @Jextxadore I can't really tell with the audio quality, and I'm not too familiar with this singer. If it's a C1, then, I'm probably thinking of another version I've heard, where it is the C2. I might be a low bass, but I'm no oktavist. Sadly.

  • @Sedraen the c1 is the bottom c ay?

  • @Sedraen Upon further listening, I think you're right — it is a C2.

  • @Jextxadore It is C2.

  • My favorite song ever. I have listened to this for several years and it never gets old. the lyrics are very powerful too.

  • The best bassist I've heard thus far!

  • The man has a voice of a man, a human, and not some cheap, mythical construct.

  • You can find the lyrics here: __emiclassicsDOTcom/downloads/debut/5731662.pdf

    Thanks for uploading!

  • This is the best singing that I`ve heard from him.

He really controls his air and vibrato.

Это является наилучшим пение, я слышал от него.

По действительно контроля высокомерном воздуха И вибрато.

  • he is best basso profondo alive !

    i hope i'll meet him soon ...

  • I think Miller is the best from the 4 current oktavists, his voice is rounder and more melodic, not as dark as Pasuikov, or resonant as Wichniakov but Millers voice is outstanding in his bass and profondo range. This recording is pretty old maybe, dating back from 2001 or 2002, back then he was not as deep as he is now. I heard Miller in another recording constantly singing G1 and A1 with absolute resonance and power, still conserving his caracteristic round and melodic voice!! Thank for posting

  • @DonSair20

I think so too, Miller is the best. However in the song are six additionnal measures where the octavist goes down to the contra-sol. These measures are skipped by Miller , Kruglov and Pasuikov. I do not know of another octavist who does sing them.

  • @dezangerman Yes in fact Wichniakov does sing the G1 while Tchepikov and Krunchetkov sing and octave above. Even Kruglov, Pasuikov o Miller dont sing the G1, them three master the song perfectly

  • @DonSair20 Pasyukov does sing the G1. Here`s a recording: watch?v=9ODNc1Cft5c

The G1 is at the end.

  • @DonSchanteloni Yes I've heard this one, and I've also heard Millers G1 but I mean that I've never heard the G1 of Do Not Reject Me In Old Age by Pasyukov, Miller o Kruglov. But I'm sure they have, its just not on youtube :D

  • @DonSair20 Ah...OK. That`s true.

  • @DonSair20

    see zangerman remark

  • @dezangerman all right, I'll check it out

  • I heard him live. He covers all the choir with his sound. It's amazing.

  • I wonder how he speaks...

  • low bass singers generally l-lave tl-le same or l-ligl-ler sbeaking range :)

  • Professionally bass singers are talking in their middle or higher voice-range to rest their voice. Talking too much on the lowest point of range is not good for the voice...especially for bass singers, who need their low notes for singing.

  • This is just beautiful! I prefer the version by Vladimir Pasuikov but this is incredible too!!!

  • You must use your tong more, then the low note will come more easily

  • on a good day i can get out a d and c but it sounds nothing close to this good!

  • Hope I dont hear you on a bad day.

  • I think the tempo on this is a little too relaxed, and that does Miller a bit of a disadvantage in this song, which is based on King David's passionate plea in old age for God to remain with him and give him strength to show God's glory and power to the coming generations. At this speed, Miller's smooth, velvety voice is just too calm and even, and doesn't quite fit the bill.

  • That's some crazy low notage.

    The guy wins.

  • I still like Pusikov/Wichniakov/Mihailik the best because of their untrained power which is the Russian style! NOthing against MIller, but I prefer an untrained sound, just preference!

  • they are bot well-trained singers...dont suck your brain with power, else you will accept a lightning-loud as a well profondo:D:D

  • except mihailik,of course :d

  • Szerintem még messze elmarad Paszujkovtól vagy Visnyakovtól, az ő dörgedelmes, már-már hátborzongatóan mélyen dörgő hangzásvilágukat - a hajókürt szintjén - nehéz lesz visszaadni...

  • I still find this to be the best recording. Wichniakov's and Pausikov's voices tend to have an overtone that masks the pitch they're trying to sing. Miller's notes are right in the core of the pitch and there's no doubt in what note he's singing.

  • I agree. I feel what Miller is singing. With others this piece seems as if it's moaning. Granted I don't know the nuances or lyrical dynamics of the piece but this seems the most powerful to me and speaks volumes.

  • just relax your abdominal muscles and open more up your throat and your mouth just let the air hit the low notes oguzkaanbulut

  • you cat finding the track or video Vladimir Miller in Baron Ochs (Der Rosenkavalier)

  • Can somebody send me a link , where I can hear a same song, which sings Vichniakov? I can not find it. Thanks in advance

  • thats how I imagine God's voice. Warm, peaceful and powerful.

    THX

  • Precisely. Not to blaspheme...but this man has the voice of a God, given only by God, and in his likeness.

THX eat your heart out...hire this guy.

  • Given by... whom?

Don't be ridiculous, this man was born this way because of uh, well, it just so happens that he was born this way, he didn't earn it, nobody could ever earn it.

He's just awesome and let's be glad he became a singer.

  • so it's a mistake he was born this way? I beg to differ

    He was MEANT to sing.

  • Did I say it was a mistake?

    No I didn't.

You seem intent on believing that he can't have this voice unless some external agent used magic.

You should study statistics, probability and genetics.

It's nothing strange with vocal anomalies like these, and they aren't mistakes, why should they be?

I'm glad that this man lives, and that he chose to sing.

  • Exactly, I hate these "god's gift" comments. He is fucking awesome, and he doesn0t need god on the equation to be so.

  • @golaxo

    maybe God is a woman

  • @sniccer It is still how it would sound.

  • what's the note that he hits at 3:32? thx:)

  • c2 or c#2

  • Neither, it is an Ab1.

  • basso profondo eccezionale, pagherei per svegliarmi la mattina e cantare in quel modo..

la cadenza al sol 0 però ci poteva stare . . .

  • Absolutely magnificent; he sounds like a subterranean deity.

  • ı can hit b1 as powerful as a profondo, but below this,my voice loses overtones and power, sounds like a sin wave but not drop fry or growling until d#1.how can ı make tht notes powerful and add good tones?should ı gave up wide rage and higher notes(at sixth octave full voice and whistle e7)

  • always great to hear a bass who can hit the notes without growling or using vocal fry.

  • a low voice and a good voice.

  • Oh, my...his voice gives me the chills...in a good way! I never thought a voice could register that low. wonderus indeed! Jon

  • Excellent Miller! So obviously testosterone-overpowered and, at the same time, so aesthetically exquisite. :D

  • he is really quite a basso! I prefer the other recording of this song with wichniakov to this, but I can see arguments for either recording!

  • ı agree vichniakov sounds stronger, but this man sounds really pure and marvellous;more operatic.

  • Wow. This sounds fantastic.

  • his voice is very beautiful and more round than pasuikov and others i love his voice tnx for post it anyway i have others video of orthodox choir

  • low c sounds effortless to him

  • ahah yes true

  • Any tone, no matter how deep, should be effortless, if sung in the proper position. I heard my singing teacher (a baritone!) hitting a low G a couple of times. It's power was, of course, not even comparable to Miller's, but what a feat for a baritone, noneteless. And he says all you need to do is place it well and relax. :)

  • I disagree...

  • ...to relax and have the proper vocal chords...

  • No Pusikov and Wichniakov are both better and more powerful!! I like miller but he is not as powerful of a profondo as either of them

  • Listen to watch?v=KXuz5BHZ5S4 and you might change your mind. Loud G# at :26 and the Bb at 2:35 is nuts plus low low F at the very end I think. Also watch?v=Zb2l3A4lpcI at 1:05 he descends to a nice low Ab.

I understand where you are coming from but after seeing these tapes of him doing the octavist part in a 5-man choir (so you know all the power is from him) I was quite blown away. Not that I think it really needs to be a competition, but I thought you should check those out.

  • Thanks a lot for the post--a lot better in quality than the other posts that use excerpts from this.

  • Thanks a bunch this is a powerful solo, great to hear the song in its entirety
