Its funny how you make assumptions about what makes someone happy; when you have absolutely no idea. Do you really think the person depicted in this film has no idea about the cultural constructions of masculinity and femininity? Do you honestly think your argument for the removal of traditional gender schemas and the removal of the gender binary hasn't been made by countless theorists and scholars?
To be honest, the person depicted in the film is incredibly intelligent and understands--like most educated people--the facets of how gender is constructed and how it constructs our lives in western culture. I think somebody who understands something to that degree, and still chooses to participate in it, is an extremely mature and well rounded person.
Your observations are perverse and dangerous: considering you back them up with "I argue"... let me just tell you: many people have argued that before you--its called "seen it...heard it"—PLEASE do some actual research on gender or transsexuality and get an original idea of your own, and then maybe somebody will listen to you.
In fact, I argue there is no such thing is a "male" or "female" feeling. We are what we are. Culture, it seems, dictates our thoughts about who we should be. If you're a guy and you want to be thought of as female? Fine. But don't think you can just paint your face and throw on a wig and then suddenly, the transformation is complete.
Ah yes, the typical "man wants to become woman" story. Touching. The problem with this sort of thing is why many of these people seem to think becoming a "woman" has to do with applying cosmetics and being pretty? These are simply cultural trappings, not the core of what it means to be female.
Well written and excellent presentation. The stresses of feeling female and trying to fulfill the need of self love is difficult when your body and sexuality are different. The play that you have here has impact and feeling. It covers much of the day to day stresses one feel that is in that situation. Do More I give you an A+ well done I do identify with the character
