I am trying to get my primary (1920 x 1080) display and another ( i think 1280 x 1028) to my 6950. I hooked my primary monitor up to the upper DVI and the second one to the lower DVI. But my pc doesn't recognize the 2nd monitor, no matter what i try. What should i do?
@Rensdomino5000 you should try like a hdmi port with a hdmi to dvi connector or mini display port to hdmi then to dvi like the ones he used in the video if that does not work well.... good luck
@maranzano3255 I have the same issue, It just doesn't let you apply the setting to enable it through windows, and the cartylst control centre doesn't help. Out of interest how have you plugged in your three monitors and what card do you have?
When do you know when you need a Active dispayport? Because i have a 5770 card now and i tried eyefinity but it took to much power on the card but now I'm going to upgrade my whole pc and I'm getting this card (6950). but when do you know when you need an active display port?
4 people cannot afford this setup and are jealous. thank you for your guide. i found out where i was going wrong. i had a passive adapter not an active one. ordering the active one today hopefully it solves my problem of only 2 monitors in eyefinity enabled at a time.
Am I one of the only few ppl that think this is sorta a lame idea. I mean it's a good idea for a big business, a decent idea for a racing game I guess, but I'm happy with just 1 monitor for my games.
I will admit it would be pimp if they had they can improve the 3D technology that NVidia made and use it with this Eyeinfinity.
Don't really see the smart in this...you get shit edges in middle. And how come 3 is classic? I mean 4 is like only thing that I can imagine would look cool. Nvidia's 3D is just cooler. Even through I don't got a Nvidia card:p
@randomviewer896 not really the center of your screen in games will be between the 2 monitor. It works fine for internet use or if you stay on the desktop but if go full screen in a application you have issues. I have 2x 5870 and 2 monitor i only run as extended desktop. also you wont be running 3 monitor at 1080p with settings on max quality on a single card you will need to turn things down.
One question: is 1920x1200 dead or something? Because I want to try someday eyefinity and thats the res I have, I dont want to buy 3 monitors, just 2. I have seen that 1920x1080 is becoming a standard also for PC monitor resolutions, I personally don't like it, I rather 16:10 ratio over 16:9 anytime, more vertical pixels help a lot in many programs or even just in web browsing. Are 1920x1200 monitors no longer manufactured? Thanks
@Aristowi you can still buy them they are really not hard to find online, i think they are moving more to the 16/9 resolution because 1080p is is the most common resolution for TV,DVD and blueray and ppl bitch about seeing black bars on there monitor for some reason.
@lordmat666 Thanks, lol, you're right, but they will see black bars anyway since most movies even blu rays are not even in 1080 vertical resolution. Anyway, I will have to keep looking for 1200 vertical pixels. It bothers me that when a monitor with new features is released it is always 1080 and thats it, no 16:10 ratio.1080 FTL, hehe
Im sick of the "why not just buy one big TV? This is pointless. Cry cry cry." The point of eyefinity is for a surround screen. You not only get more screen space, but your able to see more in the game and you get a full peripheral view. The middle screen of the 3 monitors is what one screen can see alone, the 2 on the sides of the middle see things that non eyefinity setups can't. Aka peripheral view. One big TV would only make one big image rather than 3.
@jorge69696 the tv would look very weird, very long and skinny to match the same aspect. however alienware and samsung have started to make no bezel eyefinity monitors. its 3 monitors in one, and then arent all flat like a tv, which greatly helps on the surround feel.

Guys would you recommend the XFX Radeon HD 6950 or Asus GTX 560 Ti Direct Cu II? Much appreciated!

what the hell are u talking about...!!1 you dont need a display port for a 6870 ,looks the same as what u have at the back of the card..
mine is working with mini display ports converted to hdmi, and one vga, works ok.

That's great, if it wouldn't be for the color difference between those monitors.
