Local Sheriffs in small towns will be biased with people like this. Although, the FBI made mistakes, this guy (I won't even say his name), should have just complied with the US Marshals and taken care of his situation through the courts. You can't just not abide by law and go hide in the mountains. I feel vey bad for the family dog. This could have been all avoided. Take the $3 million and have fun with it...probably a good thing the kid isn't coming back though.
@AJ7813 Are fucking joking? Sorry, I can't follow your odd humor. I love animals to. But if the cops can't trust their own to tell the command team that they shot a boy in the back, and Randy's wife in the head, Do you really think we are going to get the real story about any of this.
that evidence would have been destroyed anyway. do you think the fbi would ever allow that evidence to show in court? thats why they allowed her to clean. SHE fucked up or at least they could say that to again get away scot free when they royally fuck up
This needs to be taught in our schools. Most students are bored when they are taught about the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They should be made to see what happens when the government ignores the law.
US citizens were killed because their beliefs were not politically correct. The Feds exagerated the danger that this family posed and in essence, declared open season on them. The actions of our government law enforcement agencies were disgraceful and cowardly.

@FallFanCan Good point. Especially being a Green Berit. He would have at least flown in a helicopter. Come to think of it, he would have had to parachute at some point, so he had to be in a plane.
@FallFanCan Because he never saw combat, he never had to fly. He excelled in the military and qualified for the Green Berets. Weaver was promoted to the rank of sergeant following his training. But he sat at an Army base with non-combat duties, at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, an assignment he resented. He volunteered to go to Vietnam, but never did. I am so disappointed.... this was a wasteful tradgey on innocent life over a sawed off shotgun! you have got to be kidding me, how in the world does this happen?
The way that the Feds entrapped Weaver is characteristic of how they operate. They disguise themselves as average joes, coax you into doing something illegal, then they bust your ass and say that you either be a snitch for them or you go to jail. Typical Fed intimidation. I think that Randy made the right decision in refusing to help them, but he never could have forseen how the whole thing would end. Ruby Ridge is a lesson that we should all learn about how dangerous the federal government is.
More than the Weavers suffered over this. The neighbors were rudely herded like animals off their property while this was going on. Many of thier domestic animals and pets died from neglect because no one could take care of them. Property was ruined and tons of trash were left behind all over. The goverment refused to clean it up. Little things maybe, but more evidence the government could care less about the average citizen at times.
A trully sad story. Randy has lost so so much , and for a simple gun charge. Mistakes all round . Lets hope that this story is never repeated. 3 million for the loss of a family is like offering a pebble for a malibu mansion. You can see the pain and regrett of all those involved. Godspeed to Randy and Daughters , ........may all involved find some peace.
trigger happy cops who are jealous that they have no powers to shoot and kill are envious of the real guys in the military and will use some thing like this as an excuse to shoot some one.
The Ruby Ridge movie with Randy Quaid and Laura Dern is almost identical to this documentary, not adding or leaving out anything. The documentary showed the real people involved which made it more interesting after watching the movie. I never knew of Hollywood being so accurate.
The corrupt government is coming for the American public next. Keep your heads in the sand. You will be marching to the FEMA camps soon as they continue to implode the economy.
@PV2MOTA Well, if the US Marshall wasn't so trigger happy, he might still be alive. The son, was shot in the back, and the wife was holding a baby while she was shot in the head. Real heros those Marshalls huh?

Every good citizen in this country has the freedom to bear arms and feel safe and without government intervention in their homes in this country. However, the law does not apply to those who try to bend the rules and then hide in their homes.
It is in the constitution. YOu can't not commit a crime and then hide in your home. If you don't like the rules, go complaint to those in charge or take arms against them. But, don't go hide and put your family in danger.
So its in the Constitution and Randy paid for that crime by serving 6 months in prison. But just because you broke the law does not mean that the government can murder your family. The feds "Rules of Engagement" were found to be unconstitutional because they used deadly force without any reasonable threat that their own lives were in danger.
A victimless crime is no crime at all. Weaver did not break any legitimate law. The government initiated this violence. Weaver acted in self defense.
This is what happens when you give imperfect human beings immense power to violate the rights of others. That is what government is. Everyone makes mistakes. But only government mistakes occur on such a large scale backed by billions of dollars affecting millions of people. It's a disaster waiting to happen. Government creates chaos.
Let me go one step further. A moral , ethical law enforcement agent wouldn't be so quick on trigger nor would he be here trying to justify a botched operation like Ruby Ridge.
I don't have to blame the US Marshals or the FBI as they've already taken that blame for their stupidity. As for you, I call BS, you wouldn't know the difference between a crime scene and a traffic stop. Morons always abound when the government is involved.
It is beautiful to like one amendment and then disregard the other ones then blames those that put their lives on the line to defend those other amendments.
Cops don't put their lives on the line for our Rights only for themselves. You do nothing but enforce laws. Soldiers do put their life on the line for those rights you moron! He was entrapped by an undercover agent, all the original charges were dropped except the failure to appear.
You're just another Facist with no clue. You don't even serve or protect you react and that's all your able to do. Cops swear no oath to defend the Constitution. If you are a cop you're a damn stupid one.

Many of the soldiers that serve in this country are cops. There lies your ignorance.
Furthermore, every cop in this country has to swear by the constitution of the United States because it is the first law of the land. Learn your facts.
"He was entrapped by an undercover agent, all the original charges were dropped except the failure to appear."
There lies his ignorance.
This is not about cops and government. It is about a man who used his family as human shields. Coward.

What a rat is that negotiator guy team from the FBI lol. He is a talker. I don't want him at my crime scene. Weaver should have surrendered since the beginning. This is not Cuba. There are rules that protect people. If he was innocent, he should have faced the law. He decided to put his family in danger. The FBI and the other law enforcement were just doing the job that they sweared to do. If you don't like the law don't blame the enforcer, but the writers. Fight congress.
Regardless, if you start shooting at the Man, you're not going to win. You just aren't. They are the Domino's Pizza boys of armed violence. You can't beat them at their own game. Better to just surrender and take your chances in court. You have a much better chance of talking your way out of it. And that's how it eventually worked out for Randy Weaver. What a shame that his wife and son had to die first. It's not entirely any one individual's fault. Bad decisions were made all around.
@jorgipogi well its you buddy the gov who is taking away your rights too were all going to hear you whine like a little bitch when they take away something that is your right too
@jorgipogi you werent there i was there i know what happened look up priest river idaho numbnutz its 40 miles south of ruby ridge thats where i live he sold the shotguns to feed his family and he did not hide out behind his family the sniper was ordered to shoot his wife asshole so before you post you better get your shit straight oh did i forget to metion that the whole shooting started when his son was shot in the back by the fbi ???? gee your real stupid !
My heart truly goes out to Randy Weaver.... True patriots in this country are well aware of the NWO, but sadly many are led to beleive that those who are opposed to this terror are "extremists", and "radicals"
It's our out of control government that thinks it's God which endangered Weaver's kids. They were just a family like anyone else who wanted to be left alone. But a godlike government demands to save. And if you don't want to be saved, then you'll be punished.
If you allow law enforcement agencies to have military weaponry, they will fabricate scenerios to justify their use. And to think, the FBI originally were only investigaters, and didn't carry guns. It is far better to let the local sherrif handle thier residents. The deputies at Ruby Ridge probably sat beside Randy Weaver at church, and could have resolved this with a friendly visit. Federal authorities only escallated the stand off. Three dead over 2 sawed off shotguns. What a tragedy.
cetnikz: This sort of stupidity has been seen in all countries throughout all of human history. The US government is US. We all need to evolve just a little bit more...
Very good. Just goes to show what people in power and not enough sense can and will do. Two people were murdered and those responsible still walk free. Any wonder why I left AmeriKKKa long ago...the worst is yet to come.
Good documentary, but not worded strongly enough. The US government MURDERED a 14 year old boy and a mother holding her infant, even though neither was wanted for any criminal offense. Lon Horiuchi and Dick Rogers should be in prison.

Federal authorities, such as the FBI, need to stick to investigating, let local authorities execute the law.
That's a paraphrase from a friend of mine who is a retired GBI agent. I see similar sentiments have already been expressed here.
This documentary tells the story pretty good, but they still left out a lot of stuff, like Randy's son being gun-downed in the back as he ran.
God bless the federal agents that spoke out about this. I know their careers were probably ended for doing so.

Hey Pork!
If the FBI's case was so Righteous and Iron Clad; why were they sanctioned for covering up evidence in the court case?
Sorry Pork, much to your dismay; we were all born with eyes to see with and ears to hear with.
No one is buying your elitist federal BullShit today...

My heart truly goes out to Randy Weaver.... True patriots in this country are well aware of the NWO, but sadly many are led to beleive that those who are opposed to this terror are "extremists", and "radicals"

weaver should be in jail for endangering the life of innocent kids!!!
kappa6 3 years ago

Ditto the above. Thank you so much. Very powerful.
