  • They Sang it PERFECTLY

  • I hate how the claps interupted great moments... with whistles

  • Angels! Has Been Born And Loved!

  • Oh dear :( Angels :') I regret not going T_T

  • whoo!! whoo!!! wwhoo!!! tangina..

  • goosebumps ....

  • this song makes me cry .lovely.............^ ^

  • it shows no matter what language they sing as long as they got the right tune and the right emotions how to deliver the song...it will always be a wonderful to hear...im proud even them can sing our own patriotic song...it almost make me cry....tears of joy...keep up the good work...

  • Guys if you were there i bet your not only clap for them, the song is very Angelic!

  • great atmospher

  • Comment removed

  • well, if you were there watching them live, singing a nationalistic song in your native tongue, and you weren't moved and appreciated it like this, then you're a log!

and mind you, in their oct 25th 2011 concert, they graced us again with yet another Tagalog (Christmas) song! it was an elating experience indeed. they made effort to learn and memorize a foreign song. and they nailed it!

thanks Libera, you made us Filipinos very important! cheers!

  • mga audience nman makapalakpak eh....d tuloy marinig ng maayos...

  • They are amazing!

  • This kids are incredible! The claps mean appreciation and gratefulness to the group. they really did a great job! I cried without even noticing it. Thank you, Libera. :)

  • I agree, all that clapping is very irritating.

  • took me a while to realize:

"Performed at the PICC, Manila. This traditional Philippine song touched the hearts of the audience causing the spontaneous applause which we feel adds to the emotion of the piece."

sila na nga nagsulat ang dami pang kumokontra.

(they've written it themselves (the appreciation) still people are reacting negatively about the applause)

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! AMAZING! how they say the words are very.... cute. LOL! It's great that they learned the song. I hope they know what it means. wonderful.

  • O_O

  • what is wrong with these people?? How are they even able to listen to it if they clap every 15 sec???

  • Comment removed

  • omg...I Never..awesome!!!!!...

  • C'mon, we all know the reason why the people are clapping. Filipinos always appreciate other people who learn and perform our native songs very well. However, it also shows that audience is ignorant of the protocol. At a concert like this, you hold on to the applause until the end for 2 reasons: the choir wants to have all the voices and the notes be heard, and applause may (note I said 'may') distract from the performance. This is not a rock concert where you can clap or shout anytime.

  • Kinilabutan ako, grabe... Ang galing! Hintayin ko kayo dito sa Oktubre!

  • the claping made it hard to listen to the song but ya its called respect specaily choir u clap at the end not in the middle

over all its a good song i liked it

  • OMG--- I LOVE THIS--- YOU MADE FILIPINO PROUD OF YOU!!! you touches the heart of the Filipino people--

  • Goosebumps .... (:

  • Filipinos were applauding because it is a patriotic song.Written by Constancio de Guzman during the American era, this song was sang during the long funeral march of Ninoy Aquino after he was assassinated in 1983. Three years later, it was used his wife Cory Aquino on her campaign for President, eventually leading up to the People Power Revolution. Just a couple years ago after Cory died, filipinos again went to the streets and sang bayan ko.

This shows what this song meant to filipinos

  • @SmashBros10 Well said! Bayan Ko is a very sentimental song for Filipinos who love and value and had fought for freedom. For it to be sung by friends from another culture with voices like Libera...how can a Filipino not stand up, clap and proclaim 'yes, we're indeed free!'. Mr. Prizeman's arrangement of it, not going too far from its prestine origin adding those runs of harmonies ala-Libera, all the more made Bayan Ko a song the Filipinos will be proud to sing. Salamat Libera!

  • Goosebumps..

  • I think the applause is great in this case :3

  • I really admire Libera. Even though they're not Filipinos, they managed to sing a traditional Tagalog song.... with angelic voices. Not to mention them being all boys. God bless them :)

  • they are coming back to Manila in October 2011! yeeeh!

  • @00PurplePower00- you are absulutely right.. Filipinos are very hard to please! when u reserve a standing ovation, they really mean it, you are really good.. of course Libera is one of the best!. young and very talented. they really deservd this kind of reaction, ths kind of appreciation. thank you so Much Libera for singing ths historic song of the Filipino people. We're praying for you and your family's safety for what happening nw in your country! god bless u Libera!;)

  • i myself, as a performer, pgkaknta ka ng foreign song sa bnsa kng saan nanggaling ang kantng knknta mo, at mkta m na naapreciate nla performance mo, ikw mismo magkaka-goosebumps ka hbng kumknta, at gaganhan kang kntahn ang kanta nla.. wla kang alm kya just shut ur stinky mouth!! wla ka na nga ngwang ikakproud ng bnsa mo, tuturuan mpa at mgcomment kpa ng wlang kwent, tuturuan m pang mgng kgya m na wlang kwenta Nicolette1018!!!

  • Nicolette1018 just shut up! wag kang magmarunong dahil para kang tanga sa cnsbi m.. iapply m yang cnsbi m sarili mo. tuturuan m pa ang mga tao sa gagwn nla, eh natuwa ang mga tao,kya d nla mpiglan ang pumalakpak.. hello me katok ka Nicolette1018...

  • Before you comment, regardless of whether you think the applause was offensive or not, PLEASE read the video details.

  • people should reserve clapping in the end. In concerts (or operas) such as these, common courtesy is applauding in the end.... not in the middle of an intro like how the usual (Pinoy) concerts are...clapping shouting here and there... I don't mind but it's so distracting and bothersome

  • As usual "aspirated" T.. but anyhow, its really heart touching!!!

  • andaming comment, makasali nga,lol...

Have a safe and fun tour in the US, looking forward for pictures and videos. Filipinos will be waiting for your return in the Philippines. Godbless...

  • you are exceptional guys, you will remain in my heart forever.

  • Awww!!! Brings back memories!!

  • I personally know half of the boys in Libera so I know they didn't find it rude, they thought it was amazing

  • @bettygeorgeandme who are u friends with in Libera?

  • Applauding is not rude. It's how people show their appreciation. Mind you, this is a concert, not some theatre play where you only get to clap in between songs. Filipinos are hard to be impressed. Libera got a standing ovation because they deserved it. It's a patriotic song, and these kids who aren't even from the Philippines sang it brilliantly. Of course people won't hold back from clapping!

  • This is the song that almost always elicits tears from every Filipino. The ultimate song about love for country.

  • I'm from Poland but in moments like these I feel Filipino ...

(Jestem z Polski, ale w takich momentach jak ten czuję się Filipińczykiem...)

  • you made me cry guys!!! you are angels how can you sing such very meaningful song like this without understanding the meaning of the lyrics? you reminded me of myself when i was in the elementary school..... go guys i am so proud of you......baci baci from italy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • to all the solid fans of libera in the Philippines pls. join "Liberians Philippines" facebook page...thanks!

  • this song is dedicated for who fought for freedom of the philippines!!

  • dapat may director din ang mga tao?

kaya nga clap ng clap sila dahil thats one of our Filipino song. proud tayo.. dba?

  • @chrisangelo19 It was a surprise number.

  • kabanas, I can barely here the [erformers sa kaka clap ng mga tao..it is an etiquette, ung ang natutunan ko s director ko, clap at the end of the performance to show respect to the performer.kung mya mya palakpak, ndi n marinig ung boses nila

  • antagal mg intro ng gumawa ng video na ito!

  • I can't blame them, I might do the same thing if I were there. We Filipinos can appreciate even the slightest appreciation from people outside our country.

  • Excellente !!!

  • @ryanhayn

what do you expect? it's a concert. people are bound to clap. and they were singing a very emotional song for filipinos.

  • @ryanhayn

what do you expect? it's a concert. people are bound to clap. and they were singing a very emotional song for filipinos.

if you dont want any clapping, BUY THEIR CD.

  • Comment removed

  • bottomline, respect our culture and don't impose your own rules of etiquette on our land. which is somehow imparted in this freedom song. btw, for these kids who have performed in numerous places all over the world, they should have gotten used to applause, the highest form of accolade and the most beautiful sound to any performer. don't even presume they got intimidated.

  • this was the ultimate and unexpected bonus of their performance for which the audience can't hold back their gratitude as shown in their applause. i think the boys appreciated the reaction more than any form of etiquette reserved for stiff nobility. go buy a cd if what you're looking for is "undisturbed" listening pleasure. or pass a law that will jail all of the audience for their spontaneous show of their highest approval which is rare among the overcritical filipinos.

  • It makes me more proud everytime i hear these angels singing our national anthem for freedom..Mabuhay libera!

  • Its so unethical to applause and give that whistle blowing thing wyl someone is singing an operatic song!!ugh!,.my farewell Filipinos, please, always be mindful of what you are doing!i know that u were overwhelmed by these talented kids singing our democratic song. But please always let someone end first their song before giving them a round of applause or what some other ways you'll show your appreciation to their performance...i want to hear that song again,.undisturbed!

    btw,nyc singing libera

  • It's not so much an insult as it is gross bad manners imho. It's great that the audience appreciates the boys' talents but the bottom line is that it is a performance by young children who might well be intimidated by such reactions. It's not a football match and surely people must realise that kids that age, who are probably a bit nervous anyway, could find it really upsetting.

  • @jeffcarter2006 lol wtf u talkin about? That is pure BS. That audience reaction is the ultimate show of appreciation, which those kids appreciate as well. If you have ever performed you would know that that kind of audience reaction is uplifting to the performers. Libera also performed this same song on a TV show and you should have seen how happy they were hearing the crowd applauding and cheering.

  • I'm speechless. I had goosebumps all over. Please come back to The Philippines.

  • my tears suddenly came rolling down.. its a great feeling i had watching the video..

  • Libera are gifted with the angelic voices.

  • watch libera's performance on showtime using this song. nakakakilabot

  • When Filipinos give you a standing ovation in a concert hall, it's the biggest honor. Filipinos rarely give standing ovations and it takes a lot to impress us.

  • Comment removed

  • parang gusto kong silang marinig na kumanta ng parung parong bukid o bahay kubo next ^_^

  • I can't believe people are still banging on about the applause thing. It wasn't an insult to Libera, I can assure you they thought the crowd reaction was great. They went to a lot of effort to learn this song and the crowd reaction was a huge reward.

Libera posted this video themselves not long after this concert and that is unprecedented. It is one of the very rare videos of their concerts (excluding Leiden) that they have chosen to release. They werent offended so why should anybody else be?

  • @andyrjs I cried the first time I see this in youtube, it still makes me cry. Fyi, this song is a patriotic song of the Filipinos in our struggles and love of our country. Bayan Ko means "My Country". Taken from wikipedia "On October 25, 2009 (in Manila) and on October 28, 2009 (in Cebu), Libera gave rousing performances of "Bayan Ko" as encores to their first ever Philippine tour. The audience were so touched by the performance that sporadic applause could be heard throughout the song..."

  • @andyrjs I agree. People were applauding everytime they reach the high notes because those were the parts that gives you the overwhelming feeling and goosebumps. And I'm pretty sure that the live audiences appreciated the song. They actually got the same reaction from the audiences when they sang it in showtime.

This group (Libera) made me realize how much noise I got used to in my everyday life. Now, their songs are the only ones that I listened to. More power! :')

  • REALLY AMAZING I ALWAYS KEPT ON WATCHING THIS CLIP.....!

  • We want Libera back here in the Philippines again. ^-^

  • thank you libera for singing the BAYAN KO and its great crowd clap u 8 times

  • wish that they're get back here in manila

  • wish that they're get back here in manila

  • The Filipinos were just probably smitten because Bayan Ko has to be one of the most important historical songs in the Philippines. This song means so much to us. They just wanted Libera to feel how much appreciated they are.

  • @Maou1126 Well I know where you are coming at "Theater Etiquette" I suppose, but the Filipino patriotic song sung by UK young boys choir is stunning for Filipinos, the song is synonymous to all the struggles for freedom Filipino people long for. The applause is not an insult to Libera choir but an expression of inspiration and the feeling of solidarity, that they even can sing a Filipino song.

  • Filipinos do standing ovation is really rare so its just means that this children are very good that even i had goosebumps :) haha! and Since they're singing BAYAN KO which is one of the important and historic kind of song to the Philippines makes every Filipinos proud and happy :)

  • I can understand why Maou1126 is annoyed by the spontaneous applause. Honestly the song rendition is very good only to be "interrupted" by the applause. I do understand because for us Filipinos, the song has a very deep meaning to many nationalist. I hope to listen to the music, uninterrupted. Maybe if Libera has it on CD?

  • Who is the soloist at 2:00?

  • @RtZ92 It's Ben Philipp.

  • @RtZ92 I Think it was Ben Philipp. hes the Best hes like my favoritee haha

  • galing nman! thanks libera for singing this very meaningful song. . .i love it!

  • @Maou1126 The song is special for Filipinos that's why they can't help but clap for being mesmerized.

  • What a great video!!... but let us remember the meaning of this song... its about our country being envade... I just hope this is not a start of another envation....

  • Comment removed

  • your version of Bayan Ko, made me cry and proud as well....thank you for singing Bayan Ko. We Filipinos love your music....

  • WOW gorgeous song very well done Libera!

  • why do they have to clap "during" the song... it seems unethical to do that... i know the song is overwhelming but it's rude to do it while someone's singing.

  • YOU GUYZ ARE AMAZING... BEAUTIFUL ANGELIC VOICE...

WE FILIPINOS LOVE YOU SO MUCH...

  • everytime i go to youtube to watch all other videos...this is the first video that i have to watch. i live in england for more than 5 years now and like it but i have no plan to grow old or die here. i want to go back to my country. thanks Libera for this rendition...the best rendition of this song by any race including those pinoy. not even fredie aguilar version can match this. expect many pinoy artists and in academe copying this rendition.

  • goosebumps!!!!!!!!!

  • oh my God!!! who are these angels singing one of the national anthem of the Philippines...it gives me goosebumps while viewing and hearing their voices...

  • Wow, the reaction of the audience is so intense! Very beautiful!

  • golden voices!,, sana lahat ng pilipino marunong kumanta ng ganyang kaayos!.

  • I SHOULD'VE BEEN THERE :((((

  • oh my God... standing ovation in the PhilippInes is like a 30-minute SO in US.!!!

  • This is so touching! It gives me goosebumps to hear their beautiful voices.

  • It is not a question of whether Pinoys know this song or not. It is a matter of importance that in the farflung areas of Europe and the United Kingdom, people know that we Filipinos have a nation, with our own culture and music, and that they, Libera in particular, know how to sing our songs. It only means that our nation is alive and well in the eyes of the rest of the world!

  • Bravo Libera! Excellent rendetion! You're like angels singing...and you singing Bayan Ko (My Country) just gave me chills to my nerves! Thank you for touching the hearts of every Filipino. Maraming salamat at Mabuhay kayo! May the Divine Master bless you more!

  • wooowww...amazing are they Filipino....

that song s one of my favorite filipino song

  • @mode101able no they're not they are Britton and yes they are amazing. /no1

  • I'm proud to be a filipino eventhough we are facing many challenges and problems......and this is one of my favorite filipino songs since I was n grade school......wooowwww...these s really great....it's awesome...

  • congratulations LIBERA!

you made filipinos have you a standing ovation!

...filipinos are really hard to please but you did it!

  • its amazing....

  • This is absolutly breathtaking - really wonderful!

  • This song is full of emotion... reminds us of a man killed for the sake of freedom... reminds us of that day when streets where filled with warm body to demand that freedom, with libera rendering it with full justice. you bet all applause counts! every tears, sweat and blood of freedom loving Filipinos goes along with this. MABUHAY and thank you LIBERA!

  • dayuhan na ang kumanta...saka pa makukuha mensahe...hmmm!

  • If clapping during this performance was rude, they should have sang Thriller by MJ or Like A Virgin by Madonna.. hmm i wonder if they get even one clap from the audience. Mind you, these were Filipino audiences which are among those who are very hard to please.

  • @pandaykid1 agreed! we filipinos are indeed a very hard people to please. we are picky people. and have to be really fascinated to clap, at anything.

  • love this!!!

  • Let's not be hypocrites about culture/customs. WE ARE FILIPINOS,and should stick by our traditions as long as they are not harmful. With these Brittons singing a song that's close to our hearts, it should make us proud to be Filipinos.

  • I agree. The clapping might be rude, especially for other cultures/countries. But this is how the audience (Filipino Setting) appreciated the choir. I see no problem with this. They are the visitors/guests. They will adapt/follow according to our culture. Just like us. When we go to other countries, we follow their customs.

  • Nice Video! Hope to see you again!=]

    -Liam

  • Hi Libera Great Video! And Congratulations to your Concert it was very successful!

Hope to see you again soon here in the Philippines.

    ~your Biggest fan, Faith Briones....

  • I am very touch by this performance, if I were in the Philippines I would have have been cheering them too because this song stirs a lot of emotion for our country. Thanks for uploading it. Mabuhay.

  • hair-raising performance!!!

  • Very Touching...Tt's really flattering to see/hear your native language being sung by foreigners. They sound like ANGELS...

  • for those who are criticizing Filipinos who are clapping during the performance...you should understand that part of the culture of the Filipinos are being appreciative to what is great.......VIVA Libera

  • Excerpt from Wikipedia:

"On October 25, 2009 (in Manila) and on October 28, 2009 (in Cebu), Libera gave rousing performances of Bayan Ko as encores to their first ever Philippine tour. The audience were so touched by the performance that sporadic applause could be heard throughout the song. Again, on April 14, 2010, as part of their 2010 Summer Philippine tour, Libera appeared as guests in the hit daytime tv show, Showtime, and sang Bayan Ko. "

  • cool

  • mid performance applause.. it's just misplaced appreciation :) there'a time for everything though..

  • wow.. i'm having goosebumps again..

it';s my 2nd time listening to their

    rendition of this song.. :DD

  • Maybe in the Phillipines clapping isn't rude but where I live, Music teachers are constantly scolding the audience to applaud about 10 seconds after the song is over. But Whatever Libera deserves bucket loads of applause.

  • @GerardWay4President true that! that was a teenie bit annoying. Mainly cuz u can't even hear them half the time

  • thank you so much for singing this song. it's so special. and they are probably the cutest kids, so adorable! :)

  • They're good, but I can't feel the song. T.T

  • 8 times applause,,,oh my,,amazing,,BRAVO

  • SOMETIMES THERE IS A PROPER WAY OF APPLAUDING, BUT I CANT BLAME THE FILIPINOS BECAUSE TRULY LIBERA IS AMAZING,..

  • Great Job! I'm a Filipino and I'm so proud that you sang this traditional song of ours. I can't believe I missed your concert here in Manila 2 months ago. If possible, please come back so I can watch you live. :) Thank you.. God bless you all. Always pray to God.

  • huhuhuhuhu..

  • huhuhuhuhu..

  • damn it gives me goosebumps...

  • i love you guys... im a filipino.. and i that applause of the filipinos there they show their appreciation and like me when i heard it.. its like wow.. they're a foreign band but YET sang a Filipino song that is very meaningful to us.. Bayan Ko meaning Our Land...sp we really thank Libera for singing it so meaningful.

  • Wow - talk about connecting with the audience. That spontaneous applause was probably as moving for Libera as Libera's performance was for the people.

  • And Fiona Pears in the violin was very very great too!

  • And Fiona Pears in the violin was very very great too!

  • Bravo bravo for second time around!!! Both PICC and RCBC concerts! Congratulations Libera! You always had that angelic and charismatic voices. Be still! God bless. We miss you here in Manila.

  • Bravo bravo for second time around!!! Both PICC and RCBC concerts! Congratulations Libera! You always had that angelic and charismatic voices. Be still! God bless. We miss you here in Manila.

  • it was during the holyweek 2010 when i saw on tv that libera is visitng the philippines for peace concert.i immediately purchased ticket with my friends and got another one as graduation present for another friend.we were all excited to watch the concert when for a very compelling reason we were not able to make it in the concert venue.just bought libera album "peace" to appease myself.i hope they will come back to the philippines soon.....

  • @froilan347 That's sad. What happened?

  • How many times have I listened to this and I still get tears in my eyes when the audience explodes with emotion when they realize that the boys are actually singing in Tagalog.

  • We Filipinos are known for our continuous expression of our feelings and this is just a proof that we were so overwhelmed we cannot obtain it anymore. We just had to applaud.

  • are applause every 15s really needed? and before this, there was no such thing as a Libera video that sucked.

  • @RonCheneler Dear Viewer,

"This traditional Philippine song touched the hearts of the audience causing the spontaneous applause which we feel adds to the emotion of the piece."

    Love,

    Libera

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaah. they very great.... ! im proud to be filipino! hheeheh... your very fascinating libera!!!

  • I miss this night! We were really surprised! Even their second visit here in Manila and everytime they sing this, the spirit is still there and is strong. Filipinos really love you. Hope you also share us your Christmas album in another concert sometime in BER!!! We will be there again for sure!

God bless Libera. Take care all the time

  • Nakakahiya para sa ating mga Pilipino

  • amazing

  • people were clapping since it is a patriotic song. Filipinos were singing this during the long funeral march of ninoy aquino in 1983 and we were out in the streets in february 1986 to stand up against a dictator

  • like

  • BRAVO!!!

  • Stunning and obviously well received by the audience... LIBERA sing whatever they learn beautifully, and well, harmonies are fantastic and blended to perfection.. Keep sing lads we will listen... :0)x

  • Libera is the Best

I Can't Believe that There are Still Who

Can sing like Mario Lanza and Andrea Bocelli
