is it very dangerous if your on deck at the time? also, isnt it easy for the ship to capsize or sink in these conditions?

You shouln't be on deck in these conditions, but if you absolutely have to be...you should always have a safetyline attached to you.

And, well...no, not easy. It all depends on what cargo you have, , the stability of the cargo, size and shape of the ship, the angles the waves have to the ship and of course the size (both height and length matters) of the waves.

But if lets say the cargo slits loose and the stability of the ship changes, then the ship can capsize and sink yes...

It wouldnt sink unlesss it was taking on water below the deck or somewhere where it cant escape and if it doenst turn completely over it will right itself.
