@FreemanBG The reason for that was because Steven Spielberg`s "E.T." started a few weeks before this movie in the cinemas. The people liked a friendly alien more than an alien-monster.
@MyLongestJourney Yeah! It reminds me of "Invasion of the Body-Snatchers" with Donald Sutherland. The body-snatchers` scream was very similar to this scream.
@TheLordSethonan That would make sense actually, seeing as the majority of people infected throughout the movie end up suddenly changing and going on a kill rampage the moment suspicious eyes turn towards them.
I don't think he is infected at this point. I think that happened when he was locked up on his own. When they brow beat the guy when he was smashing the computers he would have changed then.
Most comon reaction I've seen for this movie. "Ok, that scene with the dog-thing was fucked up. Probably the highlight of the monster for this movie." Then It comes to the scene with Bennings, "Ok, BenningThing's hands are kinda creepy but not too bad." 5:58 "I just shit my spine."
They don't make movies like this anymore. 4.35 - 5.03 is just fucking awesome horror.........'Holyyyyyy Shit!' then that scream from the mutated Bennings and the music........FUCKING AWESOME HORROR. Todays so called MTV PG13 scary movies are made by no talent pussies for PC Crowds with no attention spans.
@templar19 so he'll tell him the purpous of those things, you must understand them, not just burn the shit out of them, thats how you survive an epidemic like this :)
Well it is quite amazing of how realistic this virus could potentially be there really could be a organism that can take genome cell and duplicate it and the thing I wonder is when it is done imitating the organisms sense what does it do when the cover so much land I mean they keep on doing the imitation but reply to me what u would think what they would do when there done ?
@jakobitis89 The computer scene was just a visual aid for the audience, Carpenter says although it was for that, they didn't really do it that well lol But it does show why he killed the rest of the dogs
1000 years under frozen land, and endangers human life in 27000.......think of what the planet will become when it elminates all lifeforms, the planet is enslaved and run by imitations..........Aliens, eat your shell out.
@UNAL941 so???? if one town is infected massive panic would sweep the world... it'll be chaos, we'd be lucky if it ends in 6 hours from first contact... and i dont think a tactical nuke would get rid of these things, if we even see them coming...
What have we learned from this classic? LEAVE IT BE!!! One thing I do remember about this film...the music.

@GinTonicdrink Prolly not; they later theorize if you are a replicant you might not even know it until your self preservation instinct kicks in.
