Not strictly true it re-launched him into stardom he had previously been an actor in both silient and the new Talkies, and an headline star in the movie The Big Trail in 1930 this is also when he first used John Wayne.

This flopped at the box office and wayne was back to making bit parts and b movies. He had made an estimated 80 films before stage coach.

A bit pedantic I know.

Claire Trevor is very lovely indeed. I love her movies so much. They are so hard to find. I have found quite a few though at lovingtheclassics I just googled lovingtheclassics after reading about them on another youtube classic (i think it was alan ladd)
