@MistaX8 Ok thank you , i have Panasonic SDR-S26 whit recording resolution 720x576, and i have sony vegas pro 10, and i want to edit videos recorded whit this camera . How to my videos get out without being squished and to fit res on the youtube.?
Oh, and to add to that, I forgot to ask. Are you using the panasonic software to output the files first? I have to use the software to output each file under "for use with other software" so that it's in a format vegas can recognize. Otherwise, it won't even look right in vegas, it'll be squished.
@MistaX8 When non edited video inport in vegas it get squished, but when i convert video in AVS converter in Mp4 file and then inport in vegas it isn't squished.
alright, then the problem is the render in vegas somewhere along the line. Not sure how I can help you further, I myself had to experiment to get my videos to come out right. Just make sure the aspect ratio is correct for the render settings and try using the yt:stretch=16:9 tags to see if that fixes the video after the upload.
Can anyone tell me why the time & date doesn't appear on videos I import from the S7 using Motion SD Studio 1.3? The time & date are shown when I playback a recording on my tv.
Can you make a video about it please I have the same camera and actually you sold me to it but when I publish or render the video and after upload it to you tube it doesn't fill up the whole screen as 16:9 . I bought it about 7 months ago and I still cant figure it out . I would truly appreciate it if you would take some of your time and film yourself step by step when you render or publish a video I use windows movie maker.
To get it into widescreen, use the software that came with the camera, Motion SD studio. Go to the edit screen and for each video, go to "output file" and find the option to transcode it to "16:9 for use with other software."
First, read what the description says, or the title cards in the video and you'll know why the quality is degraded.
Also, check my channel. I have improved the way I transcode the video and the quality of newer videos I took are better. I'll send you a message with a link to a few good examples.
i need help with my cam. i can shoot the video in 16:9, and when i output it from the camera software, the bet i can come out with is 4:3 (thats the biggest pic i can get out of it). how do i het it in FULL widescreen without the black lines down the side of the video?
well i gotta say that camcorder looks great to me, i looked it up after hearing that they recomended it on the 'Long Way Down', Long Way Round' + 'By Any Means" website, and also you say that its downgraded on this site, it still looks great, i may get one
If you go into my channel and check out one of my latest videos at All-Star Speedway, you'll get a better idea of the picture quality (and even more, the sound quality) the camera is capable of. For those videos, I uploaded the MPEG2 straight to Youtube instead of editing in MovieMaker so quality wasn't hurt too much.
The videos were all recorded on SP mode with Image Stabilization and Wind Cut turned on.
The files it records in are not compatible. It comes with editing software of it's own, but it's very limited. You can still do some basic editing with it though.
The file has to be transcoded to work with movie maker. It's simply because Movie Maker sucks.
I don't know. I've never heard of it until now. I looked it up quickly, and it does look identical to the SDR-S7, but it looks like it's more expensive. It's probably an upgraded version of the S7. Maybe it's got more sensors for better picture quality or something. I don't really know though.
That's just because Movie Maker is retarded. We're talking about a program that gets confused when you do something as simple as dropping a small video clip into the timeline.
Are you using the software that came with the camera, or a software that is compatible with the video files? The camera records on this weird hybrid mpeg2 file, and it has to be re-encoded with the software that came with the camera to a regular MPEG2 that is compatible with other programs if you want to use it on Media Player and stuff like that.
for a better quality and faster processing (if you have sony vegas) when you save in motion studio dont render it again in that other thing motion studio or whatever and import straight to vegas
I don't have Sony Vegas, but I do want it, it would make things so much easier. But I've had other things that I'd rather spend my money on right now. I can keep on suffering with Movie Maker for the time being.
I don't know why it's doing that. It doesn't do it to me with Movie Maker (I have Windows XP), but it does it on my Dad's computer (he has Vista). The best thing would be to get better editing software. But, unfortunately, that does cost money.
You have to use the software that comes with the camera and output the file to an MPEG2 that is compatible with programs other than MotionSD studio. Then, you have to use a transcoder to transcode the video to a .AVI file. Make sure the options in Movie Maker are set to 16:9 (widescreen). Then you can put the video into movie maker.
You're going to lose a little bit of video quality to do this, unfortunately.
What is the resolution of recording?
stefy747 3 weeks ago
@stefy747
720x480 for 16:9 and 640x480 for 4:3
To get my vids to come out without being squished in vegas though, I have to force the res to 856x480. Weird but it works.

not sure, I've never used that resolution before. Is that in PAL or NTSC?
Also, I'm assuming it's supposed to be in widescreen?

@MistaX8 Yes it is widescreen, and i don't use panasonic software to output videos.

does the video show up squished in vegas or does it look normal in vegas and look squished after you render it?

@cookie57554
If I want my videos to start looking heavily washed out with hissy, tinny audio, then I'll start using my iPod Nano as well.

I'd say use a tripod for the close ups... better res with no shaking.
racenuke 2 years ago
I have a tripod. These were just test vids when I first got the camera and I hadn't even taken the tripod out of the box yet.
I also have found a better way of formatting it so that the video quality doesn't get degraded as much when uploaded.

yeah its cool, atleast you made a vid.

sorry for sounding like a nub, but i got this at christmas and still cant upload my videos to my computer...
how do i do this?
W3ST4WAY 2 years ago
1. Read the instruction manual
2. Use the software that came with the camera
MistaX8 2 years ago
neither of that was working...
but i tried my friends comp and it works all right...

If it works all right on a different computer then you'll have to figure out why it won't work on yours. That isn't something I can help you with.

do you know if footage can bee edited on sony vegas pro 7.0?
or do u have to convert the file?

You can use the software that comes with the camera to convert it to a regular MPEG2. I'm assuming that Vegas is compatible with MPEG2.

vegas can accept all video formats, except the Panosonic SDR-S7 b4 its recoded to mpeg II, if that made any sence lol?
