@cory640 In the UK the Fire and Ambulance services are completely seperate. Some stations may be on the same site, but there are no shared stations that i know of, it's definitly not common anyway.
Ambulance services come into contact with Fire when there is a RTC, Fire, Entrapment. The fire services also have some specialist teams such as USAR, Water Rescue, rope rescue etc, so we may come into contact with them on jobs like that.
So, in the UK, I know that the Ambulance Service and the Fire Service aren't the same agencies like they are in many cities here in the US, but how closely does EMS work with the Fire Service? I remeber reading somewhere that the two will work together at certain scene (bad car wrexks, fires, etc.) but thats it mostly. So do you share stations with them?
And is the term "EMS" the main term used in the UK, or is it called something else usually?
how is the salary ?

I like the idea of the rapid response car. I don't see why we don't utilize it more in the US.
