  • @redjagstang7

    hello

one day i was trying to entertain my grandchildren with something more than folding butterflies. so i made up this mandala folding.

    success

    leo

  • Wow, can you make a video of that 3 feet mandala with 12 folds?? This is a mixture between Origami and Mandala, and I love the simplicity of it all. I want to try this with other geometric forms and folds. If I am succesfull, I will make a video response. Thanks for sharing!

  • So inspiring I can't wait to try this :)) Thank you for sharing your talent ;))

  • cooleo

  • Tendrias que aver explicado como se hace, pero esta genial!

  • Very beautiful!

  • I'll bet ever one is different, no two alike, I would love to do this, what kind of paper is that anyways? Ohhhh, its canvas? I seeee, I think, we used to make something like it as kids, we would fold a paper in half, add water to watercolor paint then add big dots of paint in the center, then fold and smear and open, we loved it! Now i could make real ones! Thanks so much I can't hardly wait to try it out! Louella

    Hello Louella

I once saw a girl making such butterfly-like paintings. She inspired me to make this technique more perfect. I started to do it on paper with acrylic paint and 2 folds. Later I made mandalas with 3 or 4 or more folds. But soon I found out paper was too weak. So I started to work on canvas. Later I found oil paint was more convenient as it would not dry so quickly. Now I even make mandalas 3 feet wide, with 12 folds. Please enjoy being an artist, Leo

  • I haven't done it intentionally. I put love, joy and beauty in the mandala and these are healing energies anyway. I invite you to have pure love and to do what your heart tells you to do.

  • it looks very nice, but do u put inside some healing energy?

  • incredible!!!

    i´m going to do it

    thankssssss

  • awesome........!

Are it's possible to use Water-based color.?

  • @4mahmood

I never used water-based color. maybe you will find something special when using it. I tried to use paper, but after I folded it a few times, I would tear it apart.

  • Love the video Expaginis, can you explain how to cut a canvas Heptagon (7 sides)

  • awesome :-)

  • Wow your work is amazing, you make it look so easy with beautiful results, when I tried mine just turned out to be a blob of messy colours. Is there anything you suggest to assist me as I would love to achieve this.

  • @reikimia

if what i am doing is too difficult, then start with a square with 4 folds, 3 or 4 different colors and do not use to much paint at once. take care to rub the back of the canvas firmly. you have to repeat the folding at least 20 times.

    succes

  • Just perfect! = )

  • I would like thank you for giving us this video. It's wonderful work. Blessings to you.

  • hey, need i put the paint in strategic point?

or just put in any place

    please answer me...

  • hello

you can spread the paint over the canvas or over half of it. there should be paint from the center to the edge anyway. add more paint after folding a few times, if needed.

if you want the center to be red, than put red at the center. if you want the edge to be white all over, then put white all over at the edge. if you put dots or lines of paint, the result will be different. just try and make something beautiful.

  • thank you very much...

    it's awesome your work

    i'll try it...

  • hello friend ,

Tks for putting online this beutyfull work of yours.

I was just looking for this and found it... many love and blessings towards you to help spreading the knowledge.

I have some questions although...for what i know there are 2 general types of mandalas(Learning and Healing) each affecting each side of the brain and for different purposes...how do we know what are we creating?

    Best Regards

  • ~That is sooo cool!!! ;} Namaste!!!~

  • Hello

At first I bought canvas on a frame and I removed the canvas to fold it. Afterwards I nailed it back on the frame. Later on I could buy a roll of canvas in a local art shop. I had to fix it on a piece of hardboard. I used either a circle or a square.

    Kind regards and succes

    Leo

  • muito legal...show!!!dani..

  • simple and beautiful, all we need :)

  • I Love it. Great idea, nice work. Thanks for sharing .

  • Hello,

Great things are free to use, to enjoy and to share.

After some instructions even a child can make beautiful things and show its inner world.

    Best regards

    Leo

  • beautiful

  • Oh thank you!! This is wonderful!! :-)

  • pretty=]

  • It was indeed canvas. Paper is too weak when it gets wet.

  • Where did you get your canvas from?

  • what type of paper was that you were using? was it canvas?
