@cynderella1990 i think it's not only a rebellion toward the traditional beauty standard, but also a rather extreme interpretation of popular american culture! if you look at girls here, their hair is bleached, they all tan, and then wear bright colors, but with black panda eyes with a little light shadow and those bright pink, nearly white lips. i actually see a lot of gyaru as an interpretation of american girls.

There are some more tanned people now again in Tokyo this year, but things did go really too white for a while here. But summer fashion this year kinda sucked, nothing too interesting so not many gals really stood out like they did before.

Just wondering, where did these pics come from? Well some are obviously taken from magazines and maybe blogs but I know at least 2-3 people in these pics! It's so weird for me to watch this and then see my friend's faces appearing!

I have done this video because I love Japanese girls and boys in their unique fashion style and their creativity . Doesn´t matter if it´s not Ganguro now days,Japanese people are always trendy and stylish in their own way that I love very much . They are masters of innovating new things,I admire them for that. ;-))
