What we would say is that over 1,000,000 years animals adapt and change to there environment, for example a fish living in shallow water with lots of plants, might develop feet like fins to crawl through the weeds and have the ability to escape on the land for a short time to avoid predators. Actually, humans being taller is an evidence for micro-evolution not macro-evolution. Small variations within a species is a huge difference when compared to a one species evolving into a different species.

I feel it takes so much more faith to believe that everything around us came from nothing than to believe in a creator. As in this video was said we cannot find any genetic mutation or evolutionary process that can increase the information in the genom. That actually contradicts evolution. If you can show me such an experiment that prooves that the information in the genom can be increased I am really curios to see it with my own eyes.

@chris241289 You are discussing abiogenesis now and the theory of evolution doesn't address that. We do not understand all the mechanisms fully at this time. However, a lack of knowledge does NOT = knowledge of God. Not too long ago we thought God caused the sun to rise, changed the seasons, and that demons caused illnesses. I'll try to answer your other posts when I can get back.

@thybigballs Here is another example that can help you understand why I think the theory of evolution is wrong. If I put a cell in a tube and create all the conditions it needs to survive and then I decompose that cell into the substances that forms it, after that I cannot bring those substances back together to form that initial cell with its functions. I mean we can destroy life but not create it.

What we would say is that over 1,000,000 years animals adapt and change to there environment, for example a fish living in shallow water with lots of plants, might develop feet like fins to crawl through the weeds and have the ability to escape on the land for a short time to avoid predators. This fish would be better at surviving and there for be more likely to pass that treat on.

@chillydogification you can't really satires this stuff, because no matter how crazy you try and sound there is someone out there that really believes in crazier shit. yes of course that can happen over a few generations if the environment changes rapidly, its called punctuated equilibrium, a few could be 100 generations on this type of time scale, but that would not produce a new species for that you need more time, but its how it could start on the path to a new species.

@chillydogification of course, every generation is the link to the past one, going form one species to another dose not happen to individuals it happens to groups, so if a group of animals is moves into an area and is isolated form the rest of the species, it will start to diverge. over time they will became so different that they will not be able to breed. Every animal that ever lived is a "missing link" between the last generation and the next.

Dawkins paused because the question made him realize he was being interviewed by creationists. It's based on a fundamental misunderstanding of evolution, namely that evolution increases information in the genome. He has sufficiently answered the question in other media.
Mutation creates more possibilities. The other side of evolution is selection, which pares the possibilities back down to successful individuals. More or less information is a byproduct of, not a process in, evolution.

Vaccination virtually wiped the virus off the face of the planet by creating enough immune individuals to eliminate communicability, eventually removing all need for immunity. That's why groups like the CDC fear samples of the virus falling into terrorist hands, because we're not immune.

Dawkins never admitted to ID, and he never said aliens put life on earth. He simply said in an intellectual exercise with Ben Stein that it could be possible.

the question is ilinformed so dawkins is trying to work out how to deal with it. I never liked dawkins that much but thinking before answering is a good thing. People have the wrong impression of evolution. people think it linear but its more like a tree from which branches are different species coming from the trunk. Look around and see evolution right in front of you. Humans getting taller etc Americans seem to be getting fatter.Our society is evolving. our planet is evolving.Existance evolves

@huepix There are actually a number of evolutionists who have now labeled the evolutionary tree of Darwin as invalid due to the various finds that have contradicted it.
Actually, humans being taller is an evidence for micro-evolution not macro-evolution. Small variations within a species is a huge difference when compared to a one species evolving into a different species.

@apologia828 Yep. Im not an evolutionist and I used the wrong word when I wrote tree cos it too is not an acurate desription of how evolution works. And 400 characters isnt enough to explain it. I think virtually all evolutionists recognis that Darwins orignal conclusions need refining. But thats the great thing about science. It can admit it cant answer all the questions. Creationists on the other hand cant even seem to accept that god may have created the evolutionary process.
