@MelkiteKataeb i know all about trad jujitsu,i did it for 3 yrs when there was no other grappling available. The can neither strike nor grapple, its poor in all areas. In fact trad schools dont spar at all,its hybridised western jap jitsu that does that. This is a world champ and his skills are blue belt level at most and only recreational kickboxer standard.
in all fairness the standard of his opponents grappling wasnt even blue belt standard in most bjj clubs,a disgrace for an art that is supposed to be grappling based.
@billysue2 you have to remember this is from the mid 90's when bjj wasnt big in the u.s. yet so actually he looked quite ahead of his time in regard to his grappling based on what was available. anyway since he's a bjj black belt under saulo and xande ribeiro and won the pans against people who i believe werent a disgrace by your standards.
@fawaz3846 im referring to jap jujitsus standard of grappling, pure rubbish.Im not exagerating when I say I could have cleaned up at that comps as a white belt in bjj ,high school wrestling and amature thai experience. Some of those clips were world championships for gods sake,a disgraceful standard.
@billysue2 ok you have every right to your opinion. now calling those guys standard of fighting a disgrace is a pretty strong word to use. can you post and show some clips of you in a competition in bjj wrestling or muy thai so maybe an opinion can be given of your skills.
@fawaz3846 its 20 yrs since i wrestled competively and nobody ever taped my matches.Ive never videod any matches ive done in bjj and am likely retired now due to a ruptured disc in my neck I got at christmas.Have a look at any decent bjj/judo black belt and youll see the vast difference in skills between the clips shown above,Chris was sparring lads who looked like white belts in grappling
at 3.30 the world ju jitsu championshipsfinals the english guy i beleive is my instructors Tom mullins ,from batley ,i had a fight in mansfield 1992 seconded by paul the shades grant. who is another great fighter.
I was watching my Saulo Ribeiro DVD's w/ Chris Blanke. I was curious as to who Chris was so I google'd him and came to this video. For 1995, he looks way ahead of his time! Nice.

I'm with his school at another location. I never realized he is such an awesome fighter - he's the real deal!
