  • This masterpiece (allegro) perfectly completes the mood of another touching work of art: "Kramer vs. Kramer" by Robert Benton. If You haven't already checked this film out, You're up for a genuine tear in Your eyes...:-)

  • This is soo beautiful!!!! omg i want to learn to play this.

  • Who is the painter?

  • @NimbleTurtle13 Joseph Mallord William Turner

  • @NimbleTurtle13 I think its Turner !!

  • another piece of majestic musical architecture.,.

    a cascade of notes.,.

    in a river of emotions.,.

  • Quite interesting to have an all-pizzicato (plucked strings) orchestral accompaniment.

  • I just Lurvve baroque. Viva Vivaldi !

  • Danke!

  • lovely piece, where the imagination can go wild! This is a perfect piece to introduce to children.

  • Check out my video "Asia" where I play a mandolin on the keys. hope you enjoy it. I wrote a few years ago. :)

  • I love this piece!

  • I trolol all day and troll all night i go light it up like its De-Na-Me-Tite :D

  • @IPlayLeaguOfMyLegend you do not live a moral life. you are a sad existence. go forth and do things. quantify meaning. do not tread the backwards path idly. i feel so bad for you.

  • @magua4 ho ho :o

  • Una de mis melodias favoritas, adoro el segundo movimiento

  • Sencillamente maravillosa. Vivaldi, el Barroco...

  • BRAVO PRETE ROSSO BRAVO !!!

  • Beautiful performance, such delicate and varied sound qualities. The recording was done very sensitively too. It's a relief to hear baroque music that doesn't sound like it was recorded in an echo chamber.

Great choice of painting! Venice, Vivaldi's home, in all it's glory.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • how come this is a Cb major for me...ive tuned my mando shit loads of time

  • @jeyeee Well, you could've just said B major... lol. Way to make things more complicated than they really are, haha. :)

  • @that1stupidkid613 No, it is C major and thats it! You modern players really have a hard time understanding that this is the real deal.

  • @Zordan60 You obviously didn't read the comment i was replying to... They said it sounds like Cb. Who says Cb? is what I was saying. I realize this is C major. I was saying there is no reason to say Cb instead of B.

  • @jeyeee It's an "authentic performance" using historically correct Baroque pitch of A=415 instead of modern a=440. It "sounds" a half step lower.

  • isnt this the painting that recently sold for millions???

  • the person/peoples who obviously have knocked the music/painting in the video, have no taste and obviously do not posess one artistic bone in their body :/ the painting is lovely, and the music brilliant. they probably think a pile of bricks in the name of art is a more befitting picture to the music :D thanks for posting...its lovely, and i've never heard this before, its beautiful, and the choice of painting is fine...i'm a successful artist, so yeah, up yours whoever knocked it :/

  • @minimal1975 The painting is of Venice and for a time Vivaldi lived in Venice so what is wrong? Can you motivate your denunciation of the combination?

  • @notethisname i beg your pardon? i am if you read my comment, 'sticking up' for the choice of painting, and, from reading the 'top comments' it is clearly apparent from the nature of the top comments, that somebody, on here, has knocked the choice of painting for this video. so therefore, whoever knocked the choice of painting in my opinion, does not possess one smidgen of artistic knowledge or possess any artistic qualities in them at all, and, considering i am a) an artist,...

  • @notethisname ...b) a successful one, and more importantly c) i have studied fine art, i would say, and i do not care if it sounds big-headed, obviously in more of a qualified standing to say, 'this is good, and there is nothing at all, incorrect about the choice of painting, with this music/composer'...is that a good enough explanation for you that you are infact, incorrect, because i, if you re-read my comment, infact not denouncing anything other than the imbocile who poo-pooed the choice.

  • @minimal1975 wait sorry I read wrong you wrote "up yours whoever knocked it" and my mind added ...knocked it up. so my bad forget what I wrote:)

  • @notethisname :D it is ok :) i was like, hang on a min, i am liking the painting :D but yes i still stand by what i said before, whoever knocked the choice of artwork is an imbocile ;D

  • @minimal1975 agreed good luck:)

  • Thank you so much for this masterpiece! =D

  • @Onesideofyams

    optimus

  • I say, there's something very striking about that painting!

I listen to this both for the wonderful music and to see this wonderful painting!

  • @elpinceldeoro1

    te falto Mozart

  • who painted that?

    that is marvelous

    paired with the music...

    ahhh paradise.

  • Thumbs up if you're amused by the Mandolin player's name being Rolf and then almost Liesl.

  • @rainboweinstein sound of music!

  • Hey Harmonico.. where can I get this picture?

  • Esta es una magnífica versión. Enhorabuena por la elección y gracias por compartirla.

  • Ahhhh... an old friend in new overalls

  • oh look! my research paper just wrote itself!!

  • this is a nice piece :) i appreciate that the poster posted it

  • hah! i never knew mandolins existed at that time...

  • q hermoso!!! es un sublime deleite

  • q hermoso!!! es un sublime deleite

  • great stuff...Thanks..

  • AAAAAAHHHHHHH THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! (oops caps lock) wow, I love this :D

  • what's the name of this wonderful painting ( excuse me for my english, i'm french)

  • @111winnetou

Venice from the Porch of Madonna Della Salute, by J M W Turner circa 1835

  • @billyb8

    thank your very much =)

  • @111winnetou

    You're welcome

  • Springy light and crisp. Really nicely played!

  • Such a great song! I don't know how I stumbled upon it, but i'm very glad I did!

  • I love the painting!

  • I thought I knew this piece, but I didn't. Exceptional performance. Now I'm going to look for the album.

  • lovely.

  • I'm sure this has been already posted but I'm glad to be reminded of the movie theme to "Kramer vs. Kramer".

  • who is mandolin ? XD

  • @POALS123 LOL its an instrument, kind of like a violin:)

  • my opinion is that music is ideal for harpsichord or violin

  • @ctihodnymuz

Vivaldi used a harpsicord, for sure, but mandolin an violin play in the same tune, so you can use a violin too.

  • extra-ordinary interpretation. unique. thanks a lot for uploading

  • beautiful! I'm reading Captain Corelli's Mandolin and this makes it easier to visualise, hear the joyful scenes where he is playing

  • Kramer vs Kramer. :-)

  • allegro una parola che esiste solo nella lingua italiana

  • This is called Perfect Music. This will remain for eternity, whilst pop and other similar genres will disappear eventually. It's a real shame this music is not appreciated in the way it should.

  • superb xD

  • @navyaircraftengineer And the fact that he was a priest had nothing to do with it? Also, no one cares. Shushup and listen to the music.

  • 8 people r wrong in this world... they thought it said DIS-I-LIKE.... morons

  • It's not violin. Its mandolin.

  • Kramer vs Kramer!

  • im not a violin lover but this one is sooooo cool!!

  • @2janetsamson Its not a violin...

  • @PapushoProducciones

You said that this music is boring, so why have you also uploaded this onto youtube?

  • looks like the ocean is alot lower in this picture. thank you for the great music; Sir Antonio

  • divine song.!

  • jajajaja

  • @Harmonico101 Thank you for bringing this music. I want you to know that I truly appreciate this.

  • I can't find this recording.. but I love it!

  • Mothersbaugh definitely developed some of his Rushmore themes from this piece

  • I ever heard a better interpretation than this

  • Magnifique morceau, j'ai dansé des heures là dessus !

  • Does anyone happen to know where I could find the score for this piece?

  • Mandolin Concerto in C Major > Four Seasons.

  • When I feel that despair one tends to feel these days about my individual and our collective performance as a 'human race', I seek out Vivaldi's perfect musical representatation of human sensitivity and weakness - of the human condition - and then I suddenly discover that, with careful listening and on balance, we might still be worth the effort, just about, and that we're still in the game.

    Just.

  • Life has no meaning without Vivaldi music.

    extraordinary beautiful..!!!

  • he is really the predecessor of power riffs in metal.

  • @troxaris So true - and a really great way to put it! :)

  • I don't see anything wrong with the picture. It looks like a beautiful painting to me. Frankly, I'm here to listen to the music, not to critique the photos. I appreciate the ability to listen to music like this. I thank the poster for posting this beautiful piece.

I don't understand people who find anything and everything to complain about. I find many of the comments on YouTube videos to be absolute nonsense.

  • @Jeffbear1 I hear ya bear! You're correct 100% but most things people SAY is absolute nonsense so what they type will be no different. I love YouTube for allowing us to rediscover great music like this. It's like a mine full of gems that you can dig out with the click of a mouse! YouTube ROCKS-- or should I say Baroques!

  • @Jeffbear1

I entirley agree with your sentiments why do so many people always have to be in the Minor Chord !!!!!!

  • @lesliecrescent I recently discovered that many classical radio stations stream live and it's free. It's loud and clear, almost like you were actually there. It sure beats YouTube, with all of the annoying interruptions and the slow loading. I tried to post a like here for you, but it won't allow me to do that.

Try it and you'll love it. There are hundreds of radio stations available worldwide. I hardly ever waste my time trying to enjoy classical music on YouTube anymore.

  • @lesliecrescent

It is more poetic to end in tragedy as opposed to triumph.

  • @Jeffbear1 And the picture is perfect, too. Te view of Venice is always nice accompanied by mandolins.

  • @Jeffbear1 You sir need to learn the definition of "Trolled" It happens just deal with it...

  • @MCDEAZY23 Huh? What are you talking about? I don't have a clue !! I never used the term "Trolled", don't even know what it means. What are you drinking or smoking? You sir are drunk !!

  • @Jeffbear1 well put indeed.

  • @Jeffbear1

    what you said

  • @PapushoProducciones why were you listening to it then? you obviously searched for it...

  • @PapushoProducciones

Hear to this? What kind of fucking English is that?

  • @PapushoProducciones It is people like you who make me think there are several "Kinds" of humans.

  • @PapushoProducciones alright. you have your opinion as well as we have ours.... But what would you like to hear? Like honestly, what do you expect to hear when the video has the title Concerto for Mandolin in C major?

  • @PapushoProducciones you're stupid, i doubt you have a girlfriend either

  • @PapushoProducciones This is baroque music. It was very impressive back then, as it is today. You should have respect for it because if it wasn't for early music, there wouldn't be such thing as music as it is today (which isn't near as good as baroque)... Show some respect to Vivaldi, who actually had intelligence, unlike you.

  • @wnxsilence so would you prefer me to use a black background?

  • @HARMONICO101 lol that's exactly what i thought.

  • @HARMONICO101 dude wtf, baroque paintings own as much as baroque music.

  • @wnxsilence You can switch to a different window, or tab, close your eyes, look at the wall, look at the ceiling, turn off the monitor...but you decided to criticize the guy who is allowing you to listen to this wonderful music.

So thanks for the video HARMONICO101, the picture is beautiful

  • @MaghoxFr Its still an interesting idea, i definatly think that linking a piece of music with a certain period or style of art can shift your thoughts away from the pure emotion of the piece. Your right though you dont have to look if you dont want to, actually my comment is kind of a waste of time seeing as both the piece and the painting are magnificant.

  • @thewikerman Sure it does, I am aware of how music changes my mood or inspiration. I write, and I can see the difference in picking different music when writing. I was just pointing out that there's no reason to criticize this guy, it's music, you don't need to be watching the video if don't want to because is a still. But agree, beautiful music and painting.

  • @wnxsilence I listen to music with my eyes closed...much easier. I just love the vibration I feel.

  • This piece is wonderful! It's like a deep feeling in yourself that awakens every time you listen this great work of art.

  • This is played way to fast, its like speed metal but classical......the overall recording is awesome though

  • Wonderful! Vivaldi is one of my favorite composers.

  • Gorgeous!

  • Please somebody tell me where can I find theese old paintings of Venice.

    Thanks!

  • @ab501ut

    Turner and Venice.

  • Vivaldi was under-rated for many years in my view. Why? It had something to do with the strength of his country. Italy was never as strong as Germany; maybe that was why.

  • Bellisimo...

  • einfach genial..............

  • Wonderful arrangement, but I suspect it has been sped up from its original recording speed.

  • there is a modern version wherein the part from 7:48 to 8:00 is very very different, why?

  • @omoshiroidayo Well, depending on the interpreter or the director, the variation of tempo in an instrumental composition impresses a variation of feelings and emotions. The same concerto will not be the same with... let´s say Richter and Kemph for example.

  • Simplemente maravilloso!!!

  • Lo más hermoso del autor único en su genero, gracias por poner este concierto en internet es un placer escucharlo.

  • Great composer & great performers in your channel. Thank and many thanks too!!

  • Vivaldi was also a catholic priest :)

  • @mburns8395 The Red Priest...

  • Melodic, gentle, and beautiful

  • I love this, but cannot play it right now. I listen to the whole thing in its entirety and never get tired of it. This is Vivialdi's Concerto for the Mandolin in C Major, all 3 movements. I also like others. Those are long-range goals.

  • its TWO mandolins

  • @jasandjasand -.- this concerto is for solo mandolin. it consists in the virtuosic treatment of it+ the orchestra, so shut it

  • perfecto

  • Welch eine großartige Dynamik! - Ein Genuss! :-)

  • 1:00

  • Cette toile me fait rêver...

...et cette apport musical m'enchante !!!

    M E R C I

  • amazing

  • I love that painting.

  • lindo...eleva a alma e nos coloca em sintonia com a Sinfonia do Universo, com o incriado, com o Infinito.

  • Reminds one of the score that Mothersbaugh wrote for Rushmore, doesn't it?

  • I think I've already left a comment here, but MAN! I LOVE THIS!!! Thank you Harmonico101 for helping me descovering this piece!!

  • some of my favorite music. Thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful music so diffrent then this in television 5+. What is that picture in movie?

  • Comment removed

  • Just wonderful! Beautiful video and concerto!

  • This version is different from the one I'm used to. More lively and playful. Me like :D

  • Very good!!

  • The interpretation of the final movement is terrific; the emphasis on the first beats and then the secondary echo is not in any other version I've heard. It gives it a playful lilt at times, and makes it more dramatic at others. Fucking awesome.

  • DigitaL +

  • very good!!!

  • Thanks for fantastic performance!

  • Is there a version of this with violins like the one used on the Acdemy Awards?

  • This is lovely! Happy Birthday Antonio! We'll always remember all your wonderful works.

  • that is such a cool picture!!! anyone know what that painting is called please?

  • also appears in CASANOVA with Heath Ledger

  • reminds me of Rushmore for some reason...

  • SOO NICE ES DIVINO C´EST SHOUETTE
