Me and Justin have the same birthday (May 15th) we have the same birth place (New Westminister BC Canada) we were both born in the same hospital and we both have the same middle name (George) oh and I play catcher just like he did (and no I didn't copy just because he was a catcher) no big deal or anything right?
hes a pretty weak baseball player for a guy like him. i mean being on the DL for two months is a lot over a concussion that he got over in a matter of two weeks. i mean come on
@crm23377 you obviously don't know the risks of not taking care of a concussion. you don't know the severity of his concussion either. concussions are nothing to fck around with. he works out and takes BP almost every day and by the end of the day, his symptoms are back. that doesn't make him a weak player, it's nothing he can help.
Yeah actuallly i do know his severity and it happend when he slid into some guy at toronto. i saw it, and it wasnt that bad. Im just surprised hes out this long. Paul konerko got pegged in the face, and he still made it through the game.
@crm23377 it didn't LOOK that bad, all it takes is a little bump. you can die from a little bump to the head. you should try to find the episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel about ALS aka Lou Gehrig's Disease. Very scary stuff and it's a great episode.
@crm23377 sorry to bust your balls, but he wont be back this season sooooo yeaaah. there's only what...10 games left of the regular twins season and there are no minor league teams that he can face live pitching for rehab on, so he will not be back. that was a given a month ago. kinda pointless to keep him around ;)
Well i don't know about that, but he will most likely be back for the post season. probably as a pinch hitter. so im keeping him just in case. besides he doesnt need minor leage pitching as he already takes batting practice with the team about every week.
@crm23377 he's missed over 60 games. he COULD return, but at the same time i wouldn't hold your breath. before he can join the team, they said he had to find a minor league team to rehab with and face live pitching. the minor league season has been over for a while and only one minor league team in the Twins farm system made the play offs. batting practice and facing live pitching (where it counts) are two different things. sooo yeah time will tell and we will see. i hope he can return.
Well, obviously missing 60 games is gonna make him a little rusty. i think its possible though. i'm still just surprised a concussion like that made him so undurable, I mean thats a little crazy to miss nearly two months over something like that. The way i see it, is that if he keeps having those so called "symptoms coming back, then he might as well just retire. thats just rediculous. Its not like im a twins fan or anything, although i am rooting for them two win the american leage title
@crm23377 he is slowly recovering, it will take time. it's a mild concussion. do you think he's lying to get out of playing or what? it's definitely too bad he's been out for so long, but nobody wants him out on that field more than himself. he's not sitting out because he wants to. he's sitting out because he has to. nobody wants justin out there until he is 100%, not 80% or 90% but 100%. it would be stupid to get him out there playing if he's not fully recovered. you gotta understand that
@crm23377 concussions can cause life long problems. ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) is nothing but a death sentence and if Justin doesn't properly take care of this concussion now, he could end up with ALS when he gets older. Yes, it sucks that he's missed so many games and that he's been on your fantasy bench for so long, but there's nothing he can do but take it one day at a time. He feels good when he wakes up, he takes BP, he runs, works out, whatever and then his symptoms come back. just because
@crm23377 he's still feeling the symptoms now, it doesn't mean he'll still be feeling them in october or even next week. it's getting better, it's just a very slow process with him. he's doing the right thing by taking this time to fully recover. i'm sure keeping fantasy team managers happy isn't crossing his mind at all, that's the least of his worries.
@crm23377 i do fantasy baseball on yahoo sports. sooo good news about justin!! he finally took bp yesterday OUTSIDE with the team for the first time since he's been out. he's pretty sure he'll be ready to play in the 2nd round of the play-offs, assuming the Twins make it that far. Hopefully they do!! Anway, you should be happy about that. Go Twins! :)
What the heck? I had this as my avatar for about a year on the twins' message board. You've got the same idea! Oh well. This is the sweetest video I've ever seen. Thanks for making this.
Man he was good.

Part machine. Until he has to play in a big league park like Target Field. Then the machine needs some 3-in-1 oil for that mysterious whiny noise.
Maybe they can have a "warning track" derby.
