  • Exit 2012 wait for meee!!!!!

  • Fair play putting this video together at age 12, especially digging out a pre-synth New Order tune. Pretty arty video too considering I would have just been filming women with big tits or winding my bro up at that age.

  • Really pretty town and even nicer music. Thumbs up to the creator of this vid, not to me!!

  • man this is just a great video.

  • think the images really fit well wit the song.never heartdof ann arbor before but seems new orderey lol

  • Ann Arbor - still doing Iggy Pop proud, with all due ceremony and respect.

  • You should have mirrored the traffic shots to make it feel more british. :)

  • This will be for me the soudtrack of the year 2012

  • This has been my favorite song for 3 years already. I love the video as well. It gives me a very Andy Warhol type of feeling.

  • @sherlyjusttoday lol why Andy Warhol?

  • chorus of this song should know by heart every guy and this should be his motto, of course :)

  • I think this should be the official video to Ceremony.

  • im a bit of genetic code in a gamete and this is my favourite song

  • @MrBlwjb lol smartypants

  • Some one who digs this song at 12. Impressive. I'm 46, and have been a Joy Division fan since 1980. I hope you still feel the same about this music in 20 years.

  • Looks like Depeche mode's everything counts video.

  • Your video actually feels like a New Order video!

  • @lucifurious23 He was a very cool 12 year old.

  • @FabyoMty I discovered New Order when I was 12 in 1986! I was just thinking how sophisticated me and my little friends music taste were when we were so young compared to the kids I know now. I'm glad the younger people can get into this. New Order has always proven to be timeless!

  • @lucifurious23 You were a very cool 12 year old too. It's always nice to know young people can discover music like this, even tough you discovered them in 1986, I wasn't even born.

  • Great song, great band, I love the video, don't understand the haters, life aint all fast cars and hot girls, it just happens, sometimes its sombre, boring, time passing by, just watching and finding beauty in things that surround us. Trust me, that place is not that bad, we are all looking for a way out, I live in East London UK and would love some open space like that. Appreciate it for what it is and was at the time, memories, moments past that will never be the same, look around you sometime

  • Sooo.... coooold...

  • I really like this song but this video makes me never ever want to go to Ann Arbor Michigan. Just sayin'.

  • this niggar crazy

  • i live in WestBloomfield Mi

  • What's the song you play for the end credits or whatever they are?

  • Fucking ads

  • God, we'll give you the Beiber, or the Jonas Brothers, but for your sake, give us back Ian Curtis.

    RIP. You will be missed.

So glad that Bernard and the rest of the band carried on tradition.

  • @CrimsonMadcap most of their songs didnt sound anything like joy division.

  • Marie Antoinette FTW!

  • Nice video.Very sensitive.

  • I liked it. Very cool a 12 year old was into New Order.

  • thanks mom for recomend me this kind of music .

  • My parents haven't met yet and still I love this song. It's great to not have even been conceived but to still appreciate great music. Yeah.

  • holy shit balls this is awesome

  • awesome vid

  • ceromony and harmony beatifull

  • DEM DRUMS

  • i love this video !!! nice video man !!!

  • One of a handful of tunes that I would say justify the term 'perfection'.

  • Fabulous song!

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever made.

  • love the version.. there are like 3 or 4 studio versions out there... the last part is haunting..

  • Well done you! I think this is a well conceived, decently shot project, Cheers!

  • Probably the best version ever.

  • Superb rendition of this last night in Brussels (17/10/11) - they were superb throughout the whole concert. What a night, glad I was there.

  • STEPHEN. Stop bashin that feckin hihat.

  • reminds me of simon dumont, such an amazing track

  • I love this video

  • Over a million hits........

I think that you have filmed it very well and edited it to the music even better.

    Just put it this way............

Whenever I want to listen to this song , I hit this vid in my favourites.

    : ))

  • I sit at my comador 64 like apiano waiting for tne iaminternet!!! 70s boy ??????

  • I really appreciated the "student video" approach to this. It captured something of the essence of the ambience from the original Joy Division. This is one of my favorite New Order songs, and I love Bernard singing it. Ian gave it raw passion and I am so sad he is gone, but his artistry remains with us.

PS - the stupid kids posting on here should really develop some hobbies, or at least some manners.

  • @CVinNYC Well said.

  • @CVinNYC my sentiments exactly. I probably need to get a hobbie too though. Because Youtube seems to have contributed to at least one third of my upbringing. So the big bad world awaits ........

  • @CVinNYC you're right, most of the people on youtube should get some manners, everyone's so agressive on youtube!

  • a 12 year old into new order?

  • @1860george

yes... i was into new order since i was a baby, and im only 13

  • BadBoy tune.

  • "Oh i'll break them down, no mercy shown " i understood a long time " Oh i'll break them down, to pussy show "....

  • avampireconfesses . com ,.>:E'''

  • Had no idea of where Ann Arbor is (or is it a person), but the scene is definitely not British.

  • Comment removed

  • @jafaru It should probably be in USA, MI = Michigan, i guess. Peace from Marseille.

  • this vid is fantastic i watch it alot ............ bravo

  • New Order did a great version of 'Ceremony', but they absolutely sucked at their attempt at 'In a Lonely Place'. Only Ian could sing that song and mean it.

  • Ann Arbor. Sup from Harrison Twp.

  • I love it.

  • big one for Summer 2011 <3

  • what a song. there´s not a single day i´m not listening to it (:

  • thhis is my favorite song and when i saw this is ann arbor i freaked out haha. i live like a half hour away form there

  • @theswaz12 but i like the JOy division one better

  • @theswaz12 I think i would have perferred the JD one if they had recorded it properly.

  • @manicbabyshambles123 YES! i agree. i like theraw feel of the rehersal BUT if it was properly recorded, that would be some pretty powerful shit. I love JD so much. they are my top three

  • but awesome song. funny that bernie considers this new order's low point?

  • I'm still an embryo and this is my fav song

  • this is a powerful video !

  • road trip song right here

  • Whenever this song plays in my head its like a reflex to picture the scenes in this video.

  • New Order...males me feel like I'm pinging my tits off on mdma when I'm not

  • hey guys, im becoming a huuuge fan of new order, and of this genre of music, i was wondering if you guys can suggest any other songs/artists/albums such as this great stuff!! thank you very much for your input, i like music that sounds kinda mellow and i really like the guitar and background instruments such as the ones that are playing in the background. thanks again! :D

  • @LuiL3wis Check out Shadowplay - Joy Division, Public Pervert - Interpol, How Soon is Now? - The Smiths, Paranoid Android - Radiohead

  • @FPSMatthew ok ;p

  • @LuiL3wis But ofcourse, Top 3,THE SMITHS!!!, The Cure (oh The Cure...), Depeche Mode (Love the Mode!), Echo and The Bunnymen, Electronic (Band members inlcude Bernard Sumner from New Order/Johny Marr from the Smiths/and Neil Tennent from the Pet Shop Boys, Camouflage, Red Flag, Ultravox, Siouxie and The Banshees, Cause and Effect, Cetu Javu, Seven Red Seven. Check out my channel. I have numerous downloads of similar artists and songs...

  • @magneticedgerep hey, you forgot PIL!

  • @The300x300 PIL? Public Image Limited? Very good band, or are you reffering to someone else?

  • @magneticedgerep : Of course Public Image Limited. Outstanding bands as are so many of their contemporaries such as New Order.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas Agreed! Public Image Limited is a great band.

  • Interesting to see Ann Arbor..is PJs still there and dog city? I played in a band at the Flamingo Lounge in Mt Clemens and Bob Seeger used to come see us in 1970 when he was a single act.. stayed over The some burley detroit homestead ..a rental gone to the dogs I guess, house once and tried to go to sleep on the floor while Ted Nugent (before he was famous) pretended to be rubber man at 2 in the morning ..bored the crap out of me

  • This song is awesome but the original Joy Division version is better, it's just so much scruffier and Ian Curtis has got this really great attitude and voice...

  • im 20556 yrs old and this beats the hell out of the music that was around when i was 105... =)

  • I remember being 10 years old and my sister and her boyfriend listened to this all the time and it was my favorite. Now I'm 16 and this song is still one of my all-time favorites. It is absolutely beautiful.

  • I've decided that this is going to be played at my funeral. And I'm still in the maternity ward. Gaa goo, goo! New Order goo?

  • the music actually fits the setting well

  • I don't think Barnard Sumner will ever have the power and vocals that Ian Curtis had with Joy Division. None the less I still like this song.

  • @BennyOhTool His voice is obviously not as impressive as Ian's, but has a simple, human quality that's uplifting and moving in its own way. Same goes for the songwriting.

  • @theneatyo If you're eight months old you're going to have a long wait!

  • a million hits you must be makin cash of this :) not bad for age 12 lol

  • from what i can see, ann arbor kinda sucks

  • I miss Ian Curtis on this record :(

  • mine too

  • im only 3 and i love joy division and new order

  • Comment removed

  • not heard this for 20 years-how good were they??

  • Ann Arbor and Manchester -- this video captures something about the song that could never be better filmed. Congrats --

  • over 1 200 000 views. Not bad for something you filmed when you were twelve :p

  • that movie had a bomb ass sountrack

  • Marie Antoinette

  • saw them do this live 2 weeks after release. they were brilliant. Middlesbrough Rock Garden . jan-feb 1981.

  • hello music theory people!

Could somebody correct me if this is wrong? :

This song is written in key signature of C major and is basically just

a I to IV chord progression? thanks.

    P.s I love this song

  • bollocks about being 12

  • it is so perfect how a 12 year old tries to capture a moment of her childhood to this song.

  • This reminds me of kids in the hall

  • i remember this record very well because i enjoyed the hook andmelody so much i kept playing it so manytimes as it got better with every play on the turntable.

  • always makes me very, very sad this song.

    RIP IAN CURTIS

  • Has such an optimistic feel to it

  • @john1986john1986

Optimistic? lol, I hope you mean the video.

I don't think Ian Curtis was capable of writing anything optimistic. =/

  • Is that the Bridge Mickey and Malory got married on? :)

  • @Failingexposed I wasnt being a 'fucking emo' cunt. I was just refering to how beautiful this song actually is and when the day comes that I pass away peacefully hopefully that this will be played at my funeral,Dont be a prejudice cunt before you even bother to hear me out.

  • This song is so ahead of it's time, this pretty much laid the groundwork for most indie music today.

  • @Failingexposed

    well ur a fucking dick

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • This song.. it just never gets old, i fell in love with it when i first heard it and i love it just as much now.

  • Guys please check my channel and help my video Ceremony [Mix gig] get to 10k views for tomorrow. Its the only mix of ceremony live on youtube and the full version. Comon guys do this so the song can be heard at least... Ians Final Masterpiece.

  • I've decided that this is going to be played at my funeral. And I am 8 months old.

  • @theneatyo hahaha

  • @theneatyo lololololololol.

  • @theneatyo You type surprisingly well for an 8 month old.

  • @theneatyo -.-

  • @theneatyo hahahahhahaha

  • @theneatyo ROFL!!! You're a pretty good typer for only being eight months old!

  • @theneatyo And you could just go on the pc and type this. Lol, u fail (unless you did the 8 months on purpose, then you're a genius)

  • @theneatyo Genius.

  • @theneatyo Nice. Deciding on the song choices for your own kid's funeral when it's too young to even know what music is. That's all sorts of creepy.

  • What city is that?

  • 54 idiots

  • If you look into my info, I never comment on a video. I only watch on the sidelines. I was so enthralled with your video, cuteee, that I had to say, this is the best homemade video I've ever seen.Somehow, it made me feel as sad as the song is but I still want to visit Ann Arbor, MI. Great job!!
