Legendary. I remember seeing Huddleston ride for the first time and being struck by his relentless raw style, and his ability to land tricks with confidence and authority. This was a perfect alternative to the brilliant innovation of Kevin Jones. Huddleston certainly invented his share of tricks (mostly variations:E-Glide Tailwhips?!!?!holy shit), and took Dennis McCoy-style links to the next level, but it was his style that made him an underground legend in flatland, a true Freestyle Anti-hero.
You can hear me screaming bloody murder at several points though this...the first one is at 43 seconds...heh, 43! Sounds like a girl being chased by an axe murderer.
Crazy days from long ago!!! I used to ride with John in East Stroudsburg, PA. from '86-88. Back in the day, I remember him making up the trick, the Tailwhip Locomotive, which was his signature move. Great memories! We also used to ride with Jim Dellavalle, thrashing the streets and on his HUGE half-pipe in his back yard. We also thrashed the Portland, PA. gym...those that rode in it will remember, "Nig-wheel base". PEACE!!!
godamn he was flawless!great cure song too!whew,he was on a roll, this was the time when experts were actually better than pros.I always remember a caption for john in freestylin',that said that john was E.F.Huddleston,because when he rode EVERYONE watched!great stuff!freestyle forever!
Great vid. My favorite period of flatland riding right here. Love the McCoy, Moliterno and Fiola ones as well. Must have been a great contest. Got any ramp stuff from this comp?
This is his daughter's friend :D She insisted I watch it.....

This run is mindblowing by any standard. I don't care if it's "old school", 23 years old or whatever, this kid owned!

I just love all the rock walk and boomerang variations. I'm surprised more modern day ground riders aren't as influenced by ol school trickery.

Word! All modern day riders do is just spin around in circles on the front wheel. I can't even look at it anymore.
